Don't pick up the cats! - The cats are treated so well. Tons of toys for them to play with - Location was easy to find and park. Note: they are about to move down the street. Check location before going CONS: - I did not take any cats home with me and I miss them all! Great spot. Try to go earlier in the day as the cats like to nap after a long day of pets and play. Their large cat "home" living room is double-doored to prevent cat escapes. Comfy seats for visitors who can pet, observe and otherwise visit with a mix of cats. Sit, watch, sip a brew and pet those cats that deem you worthy of their time and attention. Call for a reservation. Generally 30 minutes and there is a small fee to help support this effort. We were there when a 3pm group would be arriving, so we had to watch our time. We are adding them to our donation list.

We paid for 60 minutes, but we end up, leaving after 30 only because the cats were all snoozing and a lot more people had joined the room. We got drinks at the café afterwards the girls love them. I inquired about kava and kratom, and Bambe and Sam (the owners) kindly explained what they are and their effects on people. It's fascinating to know that something can provide the pleasant sensation of drinking alcohol without the adverse effects. As I conversed with the owners and some patrons, I saw that this space is undoubtedly inclusive and understanding of our individual differences--a safe haven where one can be oneself. I decided to try the kava they recommended, which had a subtle coffee-like flavor, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. One thing to note, as the owners explained to us, is that high-quality kava will produce a slight numbing sensation on your tongue. I also tried the refreshing cucumber version of the kava, and it was truly refreshing, to say the least. Kava does live up to its purported effects. I felt relaxed and like I had no pain, which is super awesome coming from someone living with chronic disorders. My husband had some of the kratom as a mocktail mixed with pineapple juice. Kratom comes in various strains and colors, and depending on the color, it can have different effects. He opted for white kratom for its energizing properties. He also tried the Kratomdriver (kratom and orange juice). By the end of the night, my husband described the feeling of wanting to go for a run because he said it's like a sugar rush. (But don't let him fool you; when we got home, he was out like a light .) They have an outdoor patio for anyone looking to enjoy the company of friends or simply relax in a nice, laid-back area in addition to their main bar area inside. This establishment is exceptionally welcoming and inclusive to all who enter its doors. The owners friendly and familiar demeanor creates a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for all guests. They host events throughout the month for anyone looking to go and experience kava or kratom, but in an eventful manner. Bambe and Sam, thank you for having such a great establishment where people can go, enjoy time spent with each other, and have actual conversations, showing people that a "bar" does not have to be the stigma we all think it to be.
