Fresh off the plane, I headed over to Archive. I was met with extremely friendly staff who were welcoming and fun to talk to. I highly recommend coming here to support this coffee shop. The owner is an incredible person who seems to know everything about Charlotte. I was advised to order the foxy brown, and it was just what I needed. It was very tasty and gave me the boost of energy needed to go through the day. I got to capture photos of the charming inside, and you can see so much personality through the shop. It has history and hints of humor here and there.

Such a cute vibe. Absolutely love all the Black media decking the walls. I'm visiting for Charlotte for the week and wanted to hit up different Black owned coffee spots and this was my first stop. I enjoyed a vanilla chai latte with oat milk which was really good. Service was great and the music being played wasn't at a distracting level which is always great. Would recommend.

Archive CLT is that hidden gem in Charlotte you've gotta experience. I ordered the Foxy Brown latte, and let me tell you--smooth, bold, and hit all the right notes. What really blew my mind was their book collection, especially the pieces on black history. It gave the whole place this extra cultural vibe that you don't find in your average coffee shop. The energy here is real--it's not just about the coffee, it's about celebrating culture and community. If you want a latte that's on point and a space that feeds your soul, Archive CLT is the move.

I initially came here for a real estate event (so it doesn't usually look like this) the normal set up is beautiful. I love the vibe. I think they are expensive. I paid almost $6 for tea, but they are black owned so I gotta support my people

Archive is a Black owned woman business that adds a really dope vibe to the neighborhood. I enjoyed my visit, ordered a refresher and a coffee along with a strawberry danish. Since I was in no rush, I sat down and read the newspaper while listening to the owner play a few classic RnB tunes. It is a smaller space so the menu is limited, but worth coming in for a visit. I'll bring my laptop with me next time and stay a bit longer.

Archive feels like the ultimate safe space. From the decor to the record and book collections, to the music and of course the coffee and teas. it's always a great experience. It reminds me of the hangout spots/ third places you'd see on shows like moesha and living single. I've ordered the wild flower tea and the foxy brown latte and both drinks were crafted beautifully. Very delicious. I highly recommend not only to support black business but to experience a unique coffee shop where black culture is at the center.

This place is a vibe and a half, and I'm so happy it exists in CLT! We learned about Archive when taking a tour of "The Vault" Black art collectors special exhibition at the Mint Museum. Our tour guide mentioned that one of the collectors in the show owns this coffee shop, and that the bathroom is covered in vintage magazines, just like one of the walls of the exhibition! The very next morning, we came by to check it out. From the music playing to the books, records, art, and memorabilia in the space, Archive is so comfortable, welcoming, and interesting. It's the type of place where you want to enjoy a nice beverage and have deep conversations. To drink, we tried an iced dirty chai and an iced foxy brown (both with oat milk). The foxy brown was unique and delightful, with notes of caramel and brown butter. We nibbled on a cinnamon crumb muffin, which they offered to warm for us. Delish and paired perfectly with our bevvies. Archive is amazing!!

Attended an event here last night & can't wait for more! I got the chamomile tea, they left the tea bag in which I really appreciated because of potency. I love the archival material in the space. From books, games, magazines, etc they have black media to look back on for ages. The music selection for the event was also very nostalgic. Let's not forget the iconic bathroom selfie! Iykyk.

This is a hidden gem! The aesthetics give 80s and 90s R&B, Musiq Soulchild type of vibes. I love it. The coffee and tea are different than your normal coffee shop but also so good! I enjoyed my time here. I came for the coffee but stayed for the vibes!

I stopped in to work on a project, ordered a warm muffin and a specialty coffee (Foxy Brown, with vanilla and almond milk). The shop offers free WiFi for customers and has plenty of seating. Great for small mixers and meetings. The archive of classic magazines, books, collectibles, art, games and memorabilia are on display for your enjoyment, viewing or purchase. Great place to study, work or just relax with good vibes. This establishment offers a variety of specialty coffees, lattes, teas, breakfast items and more. The staff member was polite but wasn't very friendly. She seemed distracted on her phone when I asked for a napkin, the WiFi password and to warm my muffin. I gave her a generous tip in hopes to brighten her day. I received feedback from my friends and they enjoyed their experience. If you decide to go try the Dirty Chai or Foxy Brown which are highly recommended. Tip: There is parking alongside the building for guests.

This coffee shop is a whole experience! I instantly felt a sense of connection when I walked in the door. Facility: the location is small but mighty. The shop offers about 6 seating options including 2 large tables for groups. Electrical outlets are accessible from the tables. The bathroom was clean and gender neutral. Plenty of parking available in adjoining lot. Menu: they offer a handful of speciality drink options (both hot and iced). They also offer several baked goods (muffins go fast). I felt adventurous so I tried the hot Foxy Brown Latte and loved it. It was the perfect mix of savory & sweet. Hubby got the Dirty Chai Latte and it was also delicious. Service: We were fortunate enough to meet the owner during our visit. She is very friendly and passionate about her business. She took the time to engage with us and share her vision for the shop. Extra: The music was a whole vibe. The books, magazines, and posters are for sale. Leave time to check out the mural of Legends. I absolutely loved this visit. This shop is definitely going on my list of favorites. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Will definitely be coming back! I had been wanting to check it out for while and it did not disappoint. The decor, the music playlist, and the vibe were great. There's so much too see, and the drip coffee was really good.

Travel back to the good ole days at this retro coffee shop with books and magazines for sale from years past and historic photos at every turn. I stopped by for a Sunday morning donut pop up shop they were having and I was so impressed with the vibe I couldn't wait to spread the word. I had the Foxy Brown Latte with my banana pudding donut. If you're looking for a dope spot for coffee, treats and the best music look no further than Archive.

This space is truly unique in that, while it bears the title of a bar, no alcohol is served. We entered and saw this adorably eclectic space. I inquired about kava and kratom, and Bambe and Sam (the owners) kindly explained what they are and their effects on people. It's fascinating to know that something can provide the pleasant sensation of drinking alcohol without the adverse effects. As I conversed with the owners and some patrons, I saw that this space is undoubtedly inclusive and understanding of our individual differences--a safe haven where one can be oneself. I decided to try the kava they recommended, which had a subtle coffee-like flavor, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. One thing to note, as the owners explained to us, is that high-quality kava will produce a slight numbing sensation on your tongue. I also tried the refreshing cucumber version of the kava, and it was truly refreshing, to say the least. Kava does live up to its purported effects. I felt relaxed and like I had no pain, which is super awesome coming from someone living with chronic disorders. My husband had some of the kratom as a mocktail mixed with pineapple juice. Kratom comes in various strains and colors, and depending on the color, it can have different effects. He opted for white kratom for its energizing properties. He also tried the Kratomdriver (kratom and orange juice). By the end of the night, my husband described the feeling of wanting to go for a run because he said it's like a sugar rush. (But don't let him fool you; when we got home, he was out like a light .) They have an outdoor patio for anyone looking to enjoy the company of friends or simply relax in a nice, laid-back area in addition to their main bar area inside. This establishment is exceptionally welcoming and inclusive to all who enter its doors. The owners friendly and familiar demeanor creates a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for all guests. They host events throughout the month for anyone looking to go and experience kava or kratom, but in an eventful manner. Bambe and Sam, thank you for having such a great establishment where people can go, enjoy time spent with each other, and have actual conversations, showing people that a "bar" does not have to be the stigma we all think it to be. Last night's performances were truly enjoyable, and it is a night I will always remember because I felt I belonged. ‍
