Well The Putnum Room is open for Brunch on Sundays now. 11:00-3:00 My husband and I have been a couple times now, but today was Special, our Anniversary. The service was great and our food was absolutely delicious. I had the shrimp and grits, my husband had eggs royal, simply delicious!!!!

We all ordered the same thing - the "Filet" with the only difference being two of us ordered it medium and one contrarian ordered his medium-well, ha! This filet came with grilled potatoes and crispy Brussels covered with port wine demi glacé ($36.00). To drink we ordered a nice Cabernet - a bottle of Josh. It went really well with our meal. The employees were all very nice, polite, and efficient. Our food came out in a timely manner and our server checked on us throughout our meal. My filet was kind of a "Tale of Two Cities". One half was juicy and tender, but the other half was chewy and not as juicy. Note to kitchen: Might pay a little more attention on the cuts of meat, TYVM. Still, I really enjoyed it. The Brussels were wow, very good! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a nice relaxing atmosphere and a great place to celebrate a special occasion or just treat yourself and your friends / loved ones to a great meal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were unable to indulge with dessert, but there's always next time. Check them out, highly recommend!

Great dinner spot in downtown Cookeville. Had dinner here last night. Great service and a solid drink selection, especially whiskey and bourbon. My server recommended the scallops and carrot cake, and both were outstanding. Her wine recommendations were great as well. I highly recommend if you are looking for a nice, upscale dinner spot.

Great steak. Strangely inconsistent portions and presentation, but the food is flavorful, [[HIGHLIGHT]]the atmosphere is pretty laid back.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We looked around and saw people in shorts or athletic wear as well as dresses and long pants.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Great beer to try!

Yummy apps/small plates and a decent wine and bourbon selection. We were in the area just for a day and came across this place. We were glad we did!

I would not recommend this place for NYE. They had an extremely limited menu that was not published beforehand. If it had been, we wouldn't have gone. There were several gin drinks, one bourbon, and one mocktail you could add vodka to. That's all. You couldn't order any other drinks. We hate gin. So we stuck with the bourbon cocktail. It was 0% consistent. They said it was a batch, but every drink we had tasted different. Maybe the mix wasn't mixed well. Not the end of the world. It was still a decent drink. What was terrible is that only half way through service they ran out of the drink and would not make more. They said they were saving the rest for the next seating. So we were left with no drink options we liked. That's a big deal when you've *bought tickets* to be there. So we paid to be at a bar where we weren't given access to anything we liked and weren't told this would be the case when we bought the tickets. You have a whole bar there. Come up with another drink on the fly to replace the one you're out of. After several people complained, the bartenders said they would pour bourbon neat or on the rocks. Yeah, I can do that at home for free. If you are going to make people pay for access to an extremely limited menu make sure you don't run out of the key ingredients. The snacks were good and decently plentiful, but they weren't worth the ticket price (sushi that was not on ice, cheese, meat, fruit, crackers, deviled eggs, cookies) Would I come back? I'd like to give it another try only because Cookeville needs a place like this. If this was in another city, I wouldn't be back.

We were excited based off some of the reviews and pictures, but ended up disappointed. I kept trying to find reasons to make the visit better, but everything just fell flat. For starters, the staff wasn't attentive at all. The hostess went to sit us outside as requested, because it looked so relaxing from walking up, upon entering the outside, many people were smoking (cigs, not vape). I'd don't mind if people smoke, but I don't want to eat a meal with it lingering around. We then went back inside and they sat us in the corner by the drink station/kitchen. Throughout the meal, the waitresses gossiped about their lives and their customers while the table next us a waitress was wrapping silverware. Our waitress didn't arrive for like ten minutes and then took forever to bring our drinks back. The vibes were just all off. Like they all wanted to get out of there and not be around each other. It wasn't even late. The food was average, nothing spectacular. We got a burger and the fish and chips. For a traditional pub, fish and chips should be one of the best things on the menu, less than par. The beer cheese soup was a highlight. Very good. We also ordered some type of pear cheeseburger. Different, but not bad. I'd try something else if I were to return. The decor is traditional pub meets modern hipster vibes. Hard to screw up. Although, limited beer options. Only 4 drafts for a pub is kinda weird. The good news is there's a brewery next door. Like I said, I was optimistic and excited. I don't give a lot of bad reviews but this one didn't hit the mark. Considering there are many other options within walking distance, I'd try something else if I were you.

Our waitress KaShonda made what might have been a three star experience easily a four star. The menu warns that the Chicago style can take 45-75 minutes so we were quick to order it before appetizers. The food was tasty. Ordering two pizza styles is a challenge and our Margherita NY style originally came out over cooked. (Probably waiting on our other pizza to finish). KaShonda was apologetic and was quick to make the situation right. When a new pizza came out it was fantastic. I would return when back in the area.

A large part of choosing to dine here was their Gluten-free menu, which was very tasty...but as a family, we'd like to dine together. I'm understanding, but several other tables that arrived after we ordered entrees were eating before two pizzas could be baked?!? Ridiculous. Will honestly not go out of my way to dine here again. I feel bad for the server (it was her birthday) and her team and management let her down.
