This was easily one of the worst dining experiences I've had. When we arrived, we were told there would be a one and a half hour wait. While that is obviously a long wait, we understood that it was a Friday night and were willing to be patient. Unfortunately, the problems went far beyond the wait time. The TOAST app indicated that we had already been seated, despite the fact that we had never received a text, notification, or any instruction to go to our table or return to the host stand. When we went to check on our status, we watched multiple parties bypass the long wait and get seated and not even check in with the host and be served. Including parties of two who arrived after us and were seated before us. When we were finally seated, there were multiple dirty tables and several completely empty tables throughout the restaurant. So naturally, the question is: Why are customers being told they have to wait an hour and a half when there are clearly tables sitting empty? There were also multiple employees standing around while one guy was absolutely working his butt off. After finally being seated, we waited another 45 MINUTES for one single pizza. And somehow, basic table service was still too much to ask for. We received no silverware, no napkins, no refills, and no basic table service When we finally asked for napkins, we were given a small amount of cocktail napkins instead of the proper table napkins. A long wait on a Friday night? Understandable. A long wait with poor communication, inconsistent seating, empty tables, employees standing around, another 45-minute wait for one pizza? Completely unacceptable. This wasn't simply a restaurant being busy. This was poor management, poor communication, and poor customer service. We were patient and understanding throughout the entire experience, and unfortunately, that courtesy was not returned. I highly do not recommend this place based on our experience.

The food was top notch as they prepared the dishes very well, with my crazy specs, and the steak (blue) was mouth watering! The waitress tried her best to accommodate us via the busyness of the night, sweet thing. We chose the roof top spot for our trio date and it was probably one of the best outings I've had in years. Not to mention a great selection of drinks!

Delicious food and excellent service! We had to wait a while for the food to arrive, but this is to be expected of this type of restaurant. We sat outside on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

To start the place looks like a great casual place to hang out with spouse or friend. Negative, The hostess was sitting me at a table on rooftop after it had rained in the uncovered seats that the table and chairs were covered with water (they're actually squeegeeing them as we speak. I asked could I not be seated at a table that wasn't soaked and said thank you when she sat me , no response. Rude when this is your hospitality. I told her I'd never sit someone in wet seats and table. Waitress Ariana was sweet and attentive! Everything was real good will come again!

They used to have a vegetarian pasta dish here that I loved. Then suddenly it changed. They exchanged the fresh tomatoes with these slimy tomatoes that are the consistency of fishing worms. I was totally grossed out. So I moved in to the New York Style Margarita pizza. It was fabulous and we both enjoyed it. Tonight they brought it out and it had the same slimy tomatoes they ruined the pasta dish with. I'm done.

I've had dinner here twice, both times in a group of 6+. The service both times was great. The servers were polite, personable, helpful, and attentive. The cocktails were flavorful, the beers and ciders were cold. The appetizers were delicious and a good deviation from the standard options at other restaurants in town. I ordered deep dish pizza this time. Just a note, try to order early if you know you're going to get deep dish because it does take longer. My pizza came out when the others were mostly done with their meal, but I knew that would be the case and didn't mind at all. The deep dish is like two different meals; the pizza portion, and then the crust, which is like a delicious, buttery, cheesy breadstick. The interior of the restaurant is decorated well, a nice ambiance, however there is no decor that absorbs sound. Often during the meal, I missed the conversation of our dining companions just across the table from us. They would benefit from either paintings or curtains that would absorb some of the sound so it didn't echo so loudly. The price of the meals is on the higher end for Cookeville, but we will definitely be back as it's a good change of pace.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! We went for brunch and were so impressed we went back for dinner! The food was impeccable. Compliments to the Chef!! The service was amazing, Braeden was our server and he was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. This is the perfect restaurant for a romantic date, a date night out or a quick brunch before shopping. They also have a rooftop dining experience! We had brunch on the rooftop and dinner inside, so we were able to experience both. The atmosphere was fantastic inside and out.

Cookeville is such a small, quaint, and friendly town with such genuine charm to it. My husband and I visit his mimi every year and as part of our tradition, we select a restaurant in town to eat at to give her a break from cooking us meals. This year we chose Spankies! We were greeted by warm, welcoming faces, and the restaurant's ambiance felt comfortable and inviting. We ordered quite a variety from the menu! And every single dish, from the starters, to the entrées, to the sides were each absolutely delicious! You cannot go wrong with any order. 5 stars for a lovely experience!

The menu had something for everyone--from salads to burgers and classic bar food. The tostada salad was a hit I forgot to take a picture. I have mixed feelings about the visit. While the food was a hit (everyone enjoyed their orders), the service was a bit slow. It took a while after being seated, to place our orders, and finally get our food. Our server was very sweet, but seemed stretched thin--possibly juggling too many tables. Overall, a decent local stop with a solid menu, but be prepared for a more relaxed pace when it comes to service.

The ambiance is perfect for a romantic evening to remember - it feels as though you have been invited into a rustic Italian home for a night away. The music is soft and inviting, setting the mood while making a space for table conversations. As soon as we arrived our waiter, Andrew (who did an amazing job) served us water, lit a romantic candle on the table, and informed us of the nightly special. We never felt rushed throughout or meal, nor felt ignored. When we had questions, he gave excellent recommendations. For drinks, my girlfriend enjoyed a citrus sweet margarita (The Italian Margarita) and I a smooth, refreshing citrus gin. Regarding our food, for an appetizer, we enjoyed the fried ravioli - which was good, though a little heavy to start out the night. I would recommend a lighter appetizer for others (unless you have more than two persons at your table). While waiting for our entrees, we enjoyed a fresh salad and warm, crispy bread dipped in olive oil. For our entrees, we both selected the Carbonara - and it was phenomenal. Definitely recommend! Overall, the experience was excellent and one to remember. I highly recommend choosing Mauricio's for a special event!
