This patio definitely gave you a good calming, southern feel

My goodness! This place was amazing! How have I been in Cookeville for years on visits without knowing about this beautiful Gem of a restaurant! The food was absolutely amazing, service was kind, friendly, and energetic, and the patio was so inviting! We tried everything from the shrimp bisque, the salads, the catfish, the Seabass, and appetizers. We didn't have a single complaint about any of it! We can't wait to come back to Cookeville to visit again! Our server was so very helpful and you could tell she loved what she did! The manager was also proud, smiling, and very helpful!

1:30 pm on a Tuesday Party of 4. Cold wet rainy day. We chose to sit inside despite there being two outdoor spaces to enjoy. (Upstairs balcony and lower courtyard). We were sat immediately. And given all the time we needed to browse the menu. This was my first visit and the menu is extensive. By 1:45 we had made our decisions and ordered. Crawfish poboy $12. Tender fried crawfish on a hogie bun with remoulade. It was massive. I tried to eat it all but couldn't . So good. The Jack Daniels sirloin looked delicious ($23) served with a potato. The men at the table both ordered that. And ate everything. No leftovers. The last person to order was the only person who ordered from the lunch menu . Served from 11-3. Offers about a dozen options including the Shrimp and grits ($11) The food arrived in about 18 minutes. And we were paying the bill 25 minutes later. Very causal, un rushed visit. I would love to go back!! In my humble opinion 4.5 stars

Absolutely great experience all the way around!! I went here with my son as it is a halfway point for each of us. The atmosphere is wonderful, the service was great, the food was amazing and the portions are generous! The prices are not bad, either. We started off with the crab cake appetizer which was absolutely delicious. For the main course, I had the sea bass over rice with the garlic cheddar grits and fried Brussels sprouts. The grits were not impressive, but everything else was very good! But, as good as it was, my son's was absolutely incredible! He ordered the Ribeye Diablo with sweet potato fries and the fried Brussels sprouts. He let me taste it, and oh, my word! I will order that next time! Side note, we asked for balsamic glaze to drizzle over the Brussels sprouts and it took it to an even greater level!

Food: We tried a bunch of apps, you know, calamari and gator bites are hard to mess up. But the goat-cheese dip? Holy cow that was the bomb! I'm sad I had to waste some of it! :( Salmon was good, almost as good as when I grill it at home! Haha. Grilling it gives it a crispness that I like, I dunno. The fries were a little soggy but the sprouts were good. Overall an awesome meal. Atmosphere: It's in the heart of downtown, really rustic inside, very cool. I like when places fix up a historic building. You get lost with all of the side rooms and hallways that they have to fix because it used to be a house inside. It's neat. Oh - and double points for having the game on, but not SO LOUD that we couldn't hear ourselves think, thank you! Price: It's pretty cheap, actually. Then again, I'm used to California where you get charged when you walk in the door. 8-10$ for an app, the salmon with 2 sides was only like 25$ so it was pretty reasonable. Delicious, affordable... no complaints! Service: I don't remember our servers name, but we had no complaints. It wasn't too busy so that was good. Overall: I can see why this place is a local favorite. Good food, down to earth prices, I'd be back if we were in the area again.

Got seated promptly, server was there within seconds to take our drink order and they arrived in just a couple of minutes. I had the Cajun sampler which was Jambalaya, Crawfish Etouffee and Gumbo. Wife had the Turkey Pesto wrap, sister had Cajun popcorn and brother in law had the blackened chicken salad. The easiest way to do this is to say that the food was excellent. The restaurant was clean and the staff were very polite and friendly. Absolutely recommended!!!

Unique atmosphere with both indoor and (heated) patio seating. Waitstaff are polite and helpful, and wait time isn't too long. Price ranges from average to high. The waitress said the sweet potato came with cinnamon, but it was actually cinnamon sugar. Be precise in your order and make sure you explicitly request any modifications.

One thing this place knows how to make is a great salad, I must say! My go-to lunch if I'm doing takeout is a blackened chicken salad. Chicken is seasoned & grilled well, lettuce quality is always on point, and the ranch is so good! We went for my birthday dinner so I got to dig deeper into the menu. We just moved from Louisiana so of course my expectations are a little biased but..dine-in was cool. Service was welcoming and prompt! The appetizers were okay, I'm not a fan of an overbreaded crab cake and the batter on the fried tomatoes was an...interesting choice to say..but my blackened ribeye was great! Overall i would say it was like a 3.5/5 for the full experience.

Sat outside and had a wonderful feast of seafood. The best sweet potato fries I've ever had! Everything we ordered was delicious. The appetizers were our favorite part. Our server was great as well.

Walking around Cookeville and came upon this restaurant. Stopped in and started with Bloody Marys. They were perfect. Ordered scallops plate and a shrimp and sausage plate. The scallops were good but very salty. The shrimp plate was perfect. Service was fast and our waitress was very attentive. The place had a Mardi Gras New Orleans vibe. We would come back for sure

This place was delicious and easy to get too!! Food was delicious! I had the shrimp and scallops creole with fried green beans and creamed spinach everything was delicious but for the price point of $23 I did want more scallops haha. The appetizer of Gator bites amazinggggg and well worth the price of $13 in my opinion. Service was average. And I did like outdoor seating but should have chose to sit inside considering it was 94 degrees outside lol

All of our food choices were amazing! Portions were good and sides were delicious. We chose to sit outside on the patio and the atmosphere was pleasant. It was a bit hot for the day but the umbrella was helpful. Our server was attentive and wonderful. We enjoy this restaurant and take the trip over from Fairfield Glade for the delicious food!

Wonderful food and service! We were seated and received our meals quickly on a busy Friday night. Okra was amazing! The seasoning in the breading was not like any I've ever had! Gator bites were great and the sauce compliments them well.

Our server Rachel was quick to greet us, friendly, and helpful. Brick walls, wood block sculptures, and old black and white photos of the town serve as decor, making the place very welcoming. A couple rounds of local beers started us and then we were off in earnest. The fried pickle spears were just as perfect as we remembered. Huge, hot, sour, and delicious, served with dijonaisse dipping sauce. Everything we ordered was delicious and each person at the table thought theirs was best. A smoked ham, cheese, and fig sandwich... cheese quesadillas... pork belly sliders... steak and mushroom wrap... all great. Our only disappointment was the gumbo. It tasted more like a bland bean soup. No seafood flavor and non existent seasonings, but even that wasn't enough to bring this place down. We cannot recommend highly enough!

Our server was great; one of the most friendly I've ever had. Sadly, that's about the only thing good I can say. It took 20-25 minutes for food to come out (and the restaurant was almost empty ??? why so long? ). The taco wrap was just plain pathetic. They need to hire someone who know how to prepare hispanic/Mex food. It was cold, cheese wasn't melted, and no seasonings. Just sad. Fried green tomatoes were greasy with a strange texture. Wife's meal was OK but nothing special. Sorry SS, go back to what was tried and true before you closed.

I would call it the most American of American buffets. It was packed even for 3:30! I really try to get pictures without anyone in them but that was pretty tricky here. They had: salad/fruit bar, baked tater bar, BBQ section, taco and chipotle area, and I think two others. Their desert bar was pretty impressive: waffles, cheesecake, soft serve and much more. Taste of the food was a bit better than what you would expect from a buffet. Definitely worth the price of $13/adult! This particular site was very senior-friendly, which was nice to see.

After the salad bar came the main dishes, Cajun Pasta, Pot Roast, Green Beans, Okra, Cheeseburger, Beans & Cornbread, Fried Chicken, Hot Wings, Mashed Potatoes, Macaroni and Cheese...
