A simple 4 to 5 hour (including travel of 19 miles) move for a 2-bedroom apartment turned into a completely unacceptable 7.5-hour ordeal along with a hefty final price tag. My contract specified a 26-foot truck, but they arrived with a 20-foot truck and only two movers and no sense of urgency. Much was left behind. We even offered to help speed things up, but were told it was against company policy. To make matters worse, the crew left for about 30-45 minutes in the middle of the move to return supplies to another truck. Although they wrapped furniture thoroughly, it felt excessive--especially since shrink wrap and tape are charged separately. The driver was not able to reassemble my daughter's bed because he misplaced the screws to the bed frame. Then we were forced to wait over 30 minutes still on the clock just to make payment before they would unload anything. The bossman Brandon, Baton Rouge location was unavailable, so someone else had to process the payment. Then came the final price tag--over $1,500. This is completely unreasonable for what should have been a $700 move. Only after I pushed back did they gave a 20% discount, by adjusting the labor rate, travel rate, they adjusted the hours to 6.5 hours instead of 7.5 hours, and they returned to retrieve the washer and dryer they initially left behind. I still was left with over a $1,200 bill. While they attempted to correct some mistakes, the overall experience was already a failure. Now that I'm unpacking, nearly every box labeled "fragile" has broken items inside--clearly mishandled. I've lost so many items that I eventually stopped documenting the damage. It's my fault I didn't pay for the insurance, the free insurance is a joke. I will file a claim. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. I will not use this company again, nor would I recommend them to anyone.

I've moved eight times in my life, and David's Moving Company is by far the worst I've ever encountered. 1. Total Disregard for Property: They showed no care for my belongings. During the move, they broke over $4,000 worth of items, put two holes in my brand new home, and scratched our new wood floor. 2. Unprofessional Behavior: The employees got into a literal fight in my front yard. One of them quit on the spot, and I had to personally move the rest of the furniture myself. 3. Inadequate Compensation: When I brought these issues to David's Moving Company, all they offered was a $500 claim, leaving me out at least $4,000--not including the $1,750 I paid them. Long story short, if you want your belongings damaged and enjoy doing manual labor yourself, then this is the company for you. My suggestion: never use this company. Because of this move, I will have to have another cervical surgery. After packing most of my house, they left garbage at the back door. My mom's care giver & I threw all garbage out which was their job. That was part of the contract. Was it a smooth transition, NO! They ran out of boxes to pack, but that was the purpose of getting an estimate. The appliances were bought not long ago & the vita mix is not cheap, & never used. They were paid to pack & unpack, but what ever they put outside in the garage never got unpacked. Next time, I will deal with a nationwide large company. I did not appreciated was way I was treated after she got paid. Being ignored! They forgot, I had not eatened all day, it was after 4 pm when I left to go for some food, 5 minutes later they left. Did NOT say anything to my mom or her care giver. When I had gotten back, no packers. There was stuff still on the shelf to be packed, so I called. They were told upfront it would be 5 hours of labor and there was one flight of stairs. These dudes didn't listen when we told them where things went and WALKED OUT in the middle of the job! All because our movers who hired them were busy putting together beds and such while they were told to unload boxes... they didn't like that they were unloading. I hired Doublejay Assemblies to install a $2,700 playset, paying approximately $1,200 for assembly…read more Unfortunately, the outcome was extremely disappointing. Despite being asked not to use certain tools, they used an impact driver that resulted in multiple areas of split wood. Materials were placed directly on wet grass and walked on, leaving visible dirt and footprints on what was brand-new equipment. By the end of the installation, the playset already looked significantly worn--closer to something that had been used for years rather than newly purchased. There were also multiple workmanship and safety concerns: missing or improperly installed parts, incorrectly drilled holes, exposed and protruding screws, and sections that were not securely fastened. Loose screws, bolts, and washers were also left scattered throughout the yard. The installer did return to address some of these issues, and while the structure is now safer, the work remains incomplete. Cosmetic damage is still present, putty was left visible across the structure, and services that were paid for--such as varnishing--were not completed. I was told additional parts would be ordered to finish repairs, but I am still waiting for follow-up. Given the cost of both the product and installation, the level of care and workmanship fell far below expectations. I would strongly encourage others to review all details carefully and consider alternative options. Photos are included for reference.
