While visiting London, where does a boy from Queens go for a pint? The Queens, of course! After arriving at our hotel, we wanted to grab a quick bite and to have a drink. After a short walk, we came onto Regents Park Rd and stopped into the very first pub. It was nice and warm in both atmosphere & ambiance and quite casual, so we grabbed an open table. We put in our order for food & drink at the bar and everything soon came to us. I had heard of the local Beavertown Brewery and decided on one of their IPA draughts. It was amazing. After learning about ales from the Fuller Brewery tour, the Beavertown IPA was a true ale, unfiltered and unpasteurized having a milky looking texture, tapped directly from the cask. It was sweet,mild and flavorful and I wanted another one. We shared a bunch of plates from a Beer Battered Haddock sandwich, a Thyme, Mushroom & Egg sandwich and an outstanding Ploughman's Board with plenty to snack on. The Scotch Egg and the Apple Sausage Roll were excellent! The chips with sandwiches were really fresh and we polished those off fairly quickly. This was a great start to our London vacation. The Queens is in the most perfect location. Perched on the corner of Regent's Park Road, it overlooks Primrose Hill and is the ideal place to finish up at after a weekend shopping trip or on a summer's evening after a day in the park. The pub has a mixed clientele- mainly regular, a few local celebrities and the occasional crazy from camden. In the summer, the crowd spills out on the street and pavement- there are few uncomfortable wooden benches outside which become golddust. The two corner tables inside are excellent for groups- the one by the upstairs window and the one next to the toilet. The roasts are too expensive- they are good, but there are local pubs such as the Princess and the Hill, which are cheaper and better. read more

We ate dinner upstairs and the food was very yummy- not the best fish and chips I've ever had, but you know, I'll give them a break since everything else was yummy and the interior is warm, cozy, and beautiful. Visited this pub on Sunday and can honestly say it's one of the best I've every been to. From the minute I walked in I was made to feel comfortable! The beer selection was excellent and the staff were very knowledgeable about the products they were selling. The toilets were very clean and well supplied, which isn't always case. I love the Pimms and Lemonade pitchers, lots of fruit on it, and cucumber. 3 stars because of the toilets, really dirty on a friday afternoon... otherwise, 4 star pub! What a pleasant surprise. After a day spent trawling shops we wandered up and down Primrose Hill and hit what should have been a tourist trap. It is right on the corner of Primrose Hill and doesn't need to put in any effort to be popular. Just the ebb and flow of people in and out of the park would give more than enough custom for them to get along. However, one perfect and cold pint later we were settling in and enjoying the relaxed vibe in there. We then tried the food and were really impressed. The sausage roll was a spot combination of pure fat, meat and pastry. The other dishes were also really tasty and fare better than standard pub food. Next time I hit Primrose Hill I will be going straight there just for the sausage roll. Price - £what a pint costs read more

We truly enjoyed our time at The Queen's. We were treated with great courtesy even though I thought we were a bit underdressed, given that we had been exploring London on foot all day, and were somewhat sweaty and VERY THIRSTY. We love Young's ales, and we truly enjoyed our hand-pulled pints. They were fresh and served at JUST the right temperature! We were more thirsty than hungry, so we split some appetizers and a main, each of which were very generously portioned and delicious! The Rosary Goat Cheese appetizer was made of roasted figs that were soft but not mush, and courgette, served on a hearty and walnut bread and dotted with flavorful fresh kale pesto. This appetizer was absolutely delicious -- a combination we would never have thought of! Our children loved this, and that's saying something since they are kale-averse! The Aubergine, rocket, cherry tomato & toasted pine nut pearl barley risotto was also perfectly executed, creamy and flavorful without being starchy. That's such a tough balance to achieve sometimes, but the chef here has mastered it! We loved the risotto! Friendly efficient, THOUGHTFUL service -- they brought us our own carafe of water, and since they recognized we were Americans, lots of extra ice! 5 stars! read more

Torn on reviewing this pub. On the face of it, this is a high class Young's pub that would not generally be to my taste. But they were serving Banana bread beer, a delicious drink that I have only ever previously encountered in bottles. (And it is better from cask). We sat at what is apparently locally called 'The Queens Table'. How uppity of us! There is also reputed to be a nice view over Primrose Hill from the pub, though as it was dark when i was here..... The pub is very narrow, with a large screen at one end. read more

A beautiful building, in a prime position by Primrose Hill. I had a £20 voucher, for two main meals and a bottle of wine, which the Young's brewery is promoting for autumn. I had a sneaky pork pie before dinner, tasty. Then we went upstairs to the dining room, as we were not allowed to use the voucher to eat downstairs. They had a new team and menu, and were very keen on hearing feedback. We both ordered the steak, decent size, but covered in strong herbal gravy. Half the steak was decent, the other tough as boots. If I had paid the full price of £18, I would have been miffed. I had a dessert of brownie with ice cream, Tesco average. The staff were well informed, but at times, very casual. If you want a bottle of wine, some cheap food, in a generic chain pub, you could do worse. read more

Had fish and chips here - what a mistake. The chips were chunky and looked crisp but were actually rock hard - very unpleasant. The fish was filled with bones. Definitely not worth it. Disappointing as the location right near the park is a good one. However, the woman serving us was very sweet and I thought she did a good job. read more

This is one of my 'locals'. The staff are a bit hit and miss - so I can appreciate some other peoples comments about 'staff attitude'. Being part of big chain of pubs could be part of the problem.... but I'm really pretty ignorant about UK pubs and chain pubs (which do a good job of hiding that they are part of giant companies). The ultimate North London gastropub! Nothing will impress quite like getting your friends a table by the window over looking the park (or better still, on the terrace). The menu is pretty traditional fare, fancied up; the mash has mustard mixed in, the Cumberland sausages are nicely seasoned. It's not especially cheap, but £20 will get you a drink, your mains, and dessert. The staff are really nice, and even at the crazy Sunday lunch hour, they won't rush you. If you're just looking for a drink, it can get a little crowded in the bar area, but Regent's Park Road is pretty quiet and a nice place to mill about. And the heat lamps they switch on under the awnings on cooler nights are nice and toasty! read more

In a very convenient location, this pub is a definite must go if you are in the Primose Hill/Regent Park area. Even if its just for a quick pint. My friend and I, visiting from the states, were told to come here. After checking out the view on Primose Hill and walk around the area, we decided to get a pint and dinner. He had the fish and chips and I had the bangers and mash. Both to our surprise, the food was good, not stellar, but good for pub food. Add on top the interesting, unique interior, good beer selection, and the location, and you have yourself a good pub to hang out, even if it was just for a quick meal. read more

One of our local favorites, perfect location for a meal after walking the pup on Primrose Hill. They are incredibly dog friendly, treats and dog bowls are provided and occasionally the owner's pup cruises around the pub. The food is very nice and the menu changes often. The veggie tart is one of my favs and the soups are always very good. They serve some good craft beers including Camden Hells. Definitely worth a visit if you're nearby. For a more formal meal, book a table upstairs. They have a nice dining area including a big 'chefs table' which is fun for groups. read more

After spending a day out in the lovely Regent's Park and when the sun is starting to go down and feeling relaxed and lazy, it is a natural to move to the closest pub around. Luckily the Queens is also a nice and fun place to go. The only problem during the summer time is that it's too popular. It's hard to even walk by the pub as the street is so crowded. So I would recommend this pub only if you are in the mood for parties as the volumes tend to rise and people, who have enjoyed their wines at the park first, continue with more drinks here.. But cool atmosphere and nice interior. The push neighbourhood will guarantee interesting customers. Overall a very chick pub. read more

I noticed there hasn't been a review since the pub was refurbished which didn't seem quite fair. The food quality has improved greatly and the new look is fresh and inviting. Full disclosure I live around the corner so love the place but I think anyone out for a wander around PH would have a very good time at the queens. read more

Nice pub full of locals (I am one), dog-friendly, the food is OK, but not brilliant, there are many other options in the area though. Often pop in for a glass of vino (or two) on a weekend lunchtime. Get's busy when there is a big sporting event though, so can get quite noisy. Seems to have been a change of staff recently, so can't comment as yet. Also, pretty sure it's just call The Queens. Had heard this place wasn't that great so was really pleasantly pleased to find it's actually lovely. Possibly a trivial point for most, but I'm a bit of a stickler for cleanliness and I reckon this was possibly the cleanest pub I've ever been to, so immediate brownie points from me.
