*edit* management reached out and addressed some of these issues which I appreciated Bummed to leave this review because I really wanted this to be better. Four of us were looking for a 5-star hotel experience less than hour from Philly as a little overnight treat for Thanksgiving weekend. We checked in around 3, pulled up to valet and the valet guy was nice but offered no help with our bags or anything. He said he didn't have a cart at the moment and I thought it was a little odd given how quiet it was. We went to check in at the desk and the attendant gave us our room number then told us he messed up and it wasn't inspected yet so we had to hang in the lobby. I was fine with that because I was excited to sit by the fire that they have marketed on their website (photo attached). No fire- just some electric candles. We grabbed a drink on the roofbar which was vibey but they charged my sister twice for incorrect items so we had to wait 10 minutes while they fixed that and we needed to leave for a dinner Rez. The room itself was nice, but the air was not working. The four of us slept terribly because of how warm it was- honestly so disappointing. We were also told they there was a nice breakfast in the lobby with pastries and things- again, not correct. There was one pastry type (good but still misleading) and some cereal boxes with warm milk. For $450 dollars this did not land at all. Would rather spend a few hundred more and stay at Four Seasons in Philly to get a real hotel experience. I would say go ahead and grab a drink here but save your money or stay somewhere else. read more

The architect and interior design team that designed this hotel should win an award. Both the outside and inside of the hotel are a stunning display of design genius. To elevate the experience the staff are top notch; welcoming and accommodating. We got to the hotel at 8:40pm and were directed straight to the restaurant, so that we could order before the kitchen closed. While we feasted the staff brought our luggage to our room. It was only after we ate that we checked in to our beautiful rooms. We then went to the rooftop to grab a few drinks and relaxed on the outdoor couches. We were bummed to miss the speakeasy in the basement but can't get too upset because being outdoors on a warm summer night with a delicious cocktail is a great way to start a vacation. read more

Booked this hotel for a weekend staycation! Not only a hotel but has a restaurant, rooftop lounge and speakeasy in the basement level. The decor is modern but it gives off a vintage vibe. To counteract that, the room has many high tech elements: chromecast tv, marble trash cans, a white noise machine (!!!) and Aesop toiletries. They also offer robes (2) in the closet. Loved the extra large sink in the bathroom ! I think the Quoin found the cheat code with that one. I couldn't open the fridge to access the complimentary waters but they are refillable ! Also the water pressure in the shower was pretty weak and the room got super hot (AC was set to 70) so if you visit during the winter months at least you know you'll get a toasty room! Don't forget to check out their cafe: a self service coffee bar in the with bistro seating on the side. I had the most delicious cinnamon roll and debated on grabbing another to go. I hope to go back soon when it's warm to really take in all this hotel has to offer including their rooftop bar! read more

The Quoin Hotel hosted my company offsite this weekend. As we needed a last minute replacement for our luncheon plan -- for 18 of us on a Sunday -- to last not more than one hour since we had to catch our train home, the Quoin Hotel kitchen and serving staff came together and pulled it off flawlessly and in style. The Quoin has a restaurant open to the public with only a $15 valet, which is super worth it if you're going on a busy night. We made a reservation and we're sat at one of the larger round tables. The ambience is perfect for a date night or girls night out. There's candles everywhere, multiple unique seating options and fire wood stoves. We ordered a lemon drop and dirty martini- both delicious! To start, we tried the endive salad which was earthy and fresh tasting. My friend and I shared that and the mushroom ravioli. The raviolis were cooked in a creamy mushroom sauce and were SO GOOD. We finished our meal with the flavorful banana bread dessert served in a cast iron. Service was quick, our waters stayed full and they provided great recommendation! Some of the menu items are super pricey (they have a rib eye option for over $100) but there's plenty that's affordable. The rooftop bar is also open year round and offers a great new spot on the city for happy hour! read more

We've been here multiple times to all three areas: the restaurant, downstairs speakeasy, and rooftop bar, and they're all wonderful. Great vibes, inventive drinks, awesome food, and amazing service. Its the kind of place where, in reviewing it, I sound like a thesaurus. Tonight we had the wagyu steak with some sort of mushroom/stuffing concoction, the wild boar pasta, and the potato quoins. The potato quoins were the only part that left something to be desired - more dill, more crème fraîche potentially, maybe even onions in those potatoes. Drinks were great - highly recommend the bloody lady. After dinner we went upstairs to the rooftop bar, which is always awesome but seems to only play Wes Anderson movies on the TV? Throw some cult classics up occasionally, and change it up! I will say, had the best Negroni there (Bridget is the best, friendliest bartender). Can't wait to come back! read more

The staff is friendly and the hotel rooms were clean. However, I would not recommend staying at this hotel. There are many better options nearby. First and foremost the room is awkward. The bathroom sink has no vanity. There is no place to put your toiletries. Also, if you're traveling for work, there is no ironing board or. You have to request that. Then there's the rooftop bar. It's very busy and it's loud. You hear it two or three floors down. And considering it's only a four-story hotel that is substantial. Also, if you plan to work out in hotel gym. Be aware that it really is only large enough for one or maybe two people to be in it at one time. Again, don't stay at this hotel. read more

I have had so many great meals in Wilmington, I am not easy to impress. Wilmington has stepped up their food game and there is no need to go to Philly. I was blown away by every bit of our meal, even food that wasn't mine. I couldn't believe there was not a bad bite between the 4 of us. The service was incredible and then there is the rooftop bar. I almost wish I was from out of town so I could stay at the hotel...so adorable!!! read more

Hands down one of the best hotel experiences I've had. The room was so beautifully designed and possessed a comfortable homestyle feel with a level of chicness. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in my room. The rest of the hotel matches the ambiance. The downstairs lobby is so stylish. The restaurant offers delicious food and the speakeasy downstairs takes you back to the 1920 prohibition era. Enjoyed dinner with friends tonight and I have to say- Quoin is a special place for a lot of different occasions. I once hosted a large group at the bar between the lobby and restaurant and the cocktails and service were amazing. Pricey? Yes, but damn that was a great espresso martini. I went back tonight with 2 girlfriends, started with a tasty rye cocktail at the rooftop bar (we stayed indoors) and then went back to the restaurant for dinner. It's an open kitchen concept and the room was warm and lively. The service was outstanding. We were given suggestions but never made to feel like we were not ordering enough. We each ordered a different wine and they brought each of our bottles out to pour the glass. Such a nice touch! The food was incredible! We stayed and chatted a bit after the meal and felt welcome to do so. I highly suggest going with friends - it's a wonderful place for food and conversation. read more

It was our first time here and we had a great time. Food, drinks, services and atmosphere are phenomenal. They have the rooftop to oversee the city of wilmington and a basement full of lounges for unwind after a long day. Each floor has a bar. Place isn't loud either. In the winter, they'll provided a throw for guest while on the rooftop. Great place, great foods and highly recommended!!! read more

We enjoyed a beautiful birthday dinner celebration last night starting up on the rooftop for cocktails, a quick pic out by the fireplace and then down to the impressive Quoin Restaurant dining room posed at the circle booth behind the bar. From start to finish, my engagement with this hotel was an absolute DREAM. Jashira (I hope I am spelling her name properly) met my reservation request with ease and I felt assured my stay would be great. When I arrived, the lobby and greeting area felt like an amazing speakeasy with a warm and welcoming aura. The soft lighting, comfortable seating, and friendly staff contributed to this atmosphere. The front desk attendant immediately assigned my room and handled a dinner reservation. Upon entering the elevator, I met another team member who told me about the cocktail hour later that evening. I entered my room which was TOP TEIR - every detail was thought of in the design of the space. I was saddened that I had a business dinner to attend and had to leave the hotel! When I came back later that evening, I was met by another amazing team member at the front desk who provided late check-out details and told me there would be coffee and pastries in the morning. I slept like a baby - the sheets barely moved - lol and woke up refreshed. I headed to the gym, did an hour on the Peloton in the gym, enjoyed some sparkling water on tap, and headed back to my room to reluctantly prepare for my departure. I am in the travel industry and am very particular about where I stay. Let me tell you, this hotel made the list of one of my FAVORITES. Cheers to the team are the icing on the cake. read more

Got a reservation for the restaurant for restaurant week and was extremely disappointed. Service started out ok, friendly sever, but the food took 45 minutes to get an appetizer, then an additional 45 minutes for the 2nd app. The manager and server saw us visibly frustrated and instead of apologizing or comping a menu item they completely ignored us and dropped the check even before getting our dessert. Got charged for the entire meal, which we didn't even complete. Sad. Will never visit this place again. read more

The hotel is beautiful, like a little gem near the train station. The rooftop is a casual place for a snack and drinks. The best part of the Quion is Nellie! Nellie, at the front desk, is amazing! She will make you feel connected to Wilmington with her recommendations along the River Front and welcome you like a friend each time you walk past the reservation desk. She is friendly and her energy makes the Quion a special place. She is the reason I decided to write a five star review. We all meet people throughout our day, but when we meet strangers who make us feel welcomed, we are fortunate. I've always remembered a meal at Le Bec Fin as the best meal I've ever enjoyed.I'm not sure if memory has dimmed, but the Quoin has now easily taken that spot after our meal there this past week. Starting with a perfect espresso martini at the bar, a stellar experience continued thru to dessert. Every dish had added small elements that elevated but standouts at our table of six were the endive salad, braised clams, the mushroom ravioli, the veal cheeks, and (my favorite) Dorade Grenobloise. The endive salad was generous with pine nuts and butternut squash, dressed perfectly with tarragon vinaigrette. The ravioli were light clouds with mushroom. The dorade was simply prepared but perfectly prepared with a lemon caper sauce. Don't miss out on the potatoes quoin, creamy deliciousness. Dinner was enhanced by superb service and a beautiful but comfortable room and although every table was filled, we easily enjoyed our own table's conversation. A tour through the rooftop bar and basement cafe revealed no lack of attention to ensure a very special experience. read more
