We booked for a Friday and Saturday departure on Sunday.We had tickets for local events but the severe weather on Saturday caused our event to be cancelled.It was really bad weather.We called at 8 am,3 hours before check out and cancel Saturday night .We were told no refund since we had prepaid on line.I spoke with the manager and told her of the situation.All she could say was "sorry no refund".I spoke to the corporate customer service team and they called the property and the manager told them that we never mentioned the weather.Big LIE!!She could plainly see that the weather was terrible.She offered 2000 Hyatt points which I will never use because I will never set foot in a Hyatt property again.We are repeat customers..nice way to treat repeat customers. read more

Stayed here this past weekend since I was hosting a party in the venue next door. This was my first time staying here and it was ok. I luckily was put in a corner room so I provided the feel of more space for my king bed room (I didn't have a suite). The room was ok, but had a couple signs of wear&tear. Free breakfast is available every morning, which is very helpful. The best aspects of the hotel in my opinion are the staff! Everyone we interacted with was so friendly and helpful - they really provided a high level of hospitality and service to all of us staying there. My parents were placed/upgraded to the bridal suite by the front desk staff when checking in because they knew they were celebrating their 30th anniversary. One of the kitchen staff was kind enough to make some turkey sausage since none of us eat pork, and then she came out to speak with us about a certain piece of fruit that my nephew may like - it was very sweet of her. Not sure if this would be my first choice if I'm staying at the Riverfront again, but I would consider it because of the staff service - they make the place great! read more

Stayed here before the last leg to reach our vacation destination. We arrived late and were treated pleasantly by the gentleman working the front desk. I appreciated that you'd have to be buzzed through the door if you did not have a room key. The room was clean and well maintained. Plenty of room for my little family. I did find a hair in the water reservoir of the coffee machine so that's pretty ick. The blackout curtains in the sleeping area did not function well so unfortunately I couldn't rest the way I had hoped. Free breakfast was great, lots to choose from. We only spent one night as we came for a festival, but we slept great. The room was nice and clean. I could smell the cleaning supplies used and bleach, which I enjoy so I know it was freshly cleaned. The layout of the room was nice with a king bed and couch. The temperature in the room was nice and didn't have any issues taking hot showers. I really like that this is centrally located and the room service comes from the restaurant next door. It's near a brewery and the view from our room of the river was nice. We didn't have any issues with noise coming from other rooms and slept soundly. Checking in and out were easy processes. The staff was very nice. I had a mojito at the bar and it was delicious. The executive chef is very nice. I do wish that for breakfast meat, maybe a non-pork option could be offered and I wasn't a fan of the texture of the eggs. That said, the fruit was nice and ripe and the yogurt was tasty. read more

A clean, newer, nice hotel connected to the waterfront. Free parking, which is shared with various restaurants and the Delaware children's museum. You could probably stay here for a night and not need to drive anyway for food or entertainment. Would definitely come back again! read more

Stayed with family and cousins for a long weekend in mid Feb. PROS; Great Location right on the Christina river with The Jack Markell Trail right out the back door. Very clean inside and out. Great breakfast variety included with stay. descent Exercise room. Several restaurants and a few good breweries within walking distance. CONS; There is no Pool or hot tub which is what my family looks forward too when staying in these types of places, the reason for my (good) vs (Very Good) rating. There is some parking lot room to the right of the hotel where they should consider expanding?, and possibly adding at least a small pool? Also, the front desk staff can be a bit more vocal and friendly, especially upon arrival. Recommended stay!!! read more

I stayed 1 night at this hotel for a personal trip. I paid for the trip myself, full price, no points used. It was my first time at this hotel. Location It was a little difficult to find the hotel using Waze, it could be due to road work, the hotel is new or just too hard for Waze to pick up the nuance of the cluster of buildings. I had the same issue on the way out trying to get to the highway. I noticed the same issue with Uber Eats. Anyway, I found it by accident by looking for a tall building that said Hyatt. Room I had room 501 with 1 king bed, in a corner away from the elevators (my preference). The room was a nice size and very clean. The windows have those fabulous shades that really shuts out the light. I am so used to carrying binder clips with me to keep the drapes closed in older hotels, so I love the new hotels that have these shades. HVAC is very noisy. I was never able to get the fan to stay on steadily no matter which setting I tried and the AC didn't seem to cool the room down enough so the compressor was on and off all night. The bed I had a king bed (my preference) that was very comfortable. The bathroom The sink area was adequate with a fair amount of room around the sink area for makeup bags, etc. The sink is outside the room with the shower/commode with a sliding pocket/barn-type door. The lighting is okay for putting on makeup. Plenty of towels were available in all sizes. There is a very large tv, very high quality picture, with the basic channels. A nice size desk for working and a comfortable work chair at the desk. There is also a nice couch with an ottoman. Wireless internet in the room was easy to hook up and worked perfectly every day. Check In There were two people working at the front desk. Check-in was easy. I was very early for check in and they explained that the room wasn't ready yet due to being fully occupied in recent days. I was able to use the work area in the lobby with the open wifi available to do some work and then I went to lunch. My room was ready when I returned (still about an hour before stated check in). Everyone I spoke with at the desk was friendly and things were starting to pick up with guests starting to arrive for a wedding. Hotel Staff The hotel staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Parking There is plenty of free, unassigned parking in front and on the side of the building. No parking passes needed and they did not ask for my car information at check in. Lobby/Restaurants/Bar The lobby is up to date and has a variety of seating types for all size groups. Wifi everywhere. GPS/Cell Phone/Internet Hotel internet was great for work and personal stuff. No issues connecting or doing work. Gym There is a small room with gym equipment on the lobby level. Two treadmills, an elliptical and a bike and some free weights. The machines are a little close together. It gets the job done if you need a basic workout. Restaurants The hotel serves a breakfast buffet in the morning. A wide variety of pre-packaged, hot and cold stuff. They did not have any scrambled eggs available the morning I went down at 8 am and there were several people on line waiting for more eggs, but other than that it seemed reasonably stocked with everything else. The bar has snack food like fries, but nothing substantial, a very limited snack menu. The bar is in the middle of the lobby and looks to have the average hotel bar setup. There are two restaurants outside the hotel just to the right of the hotel entrance if you want to walk and not drive around. I had lunch at one (Iron Hill Brewery) and dinner at the other (Big Fish Grill) and both were great. read more

I am a business traveler who tries to be brand loyal and generally find Hyatt's to be my go to hotel chain. I am not, however, a fan of this particular Hyatt. My chief complaint is that the temperature in the room stays at around 76F despite turning the thermostat down to 60F. Can't sleep comfortably. Will not be staying at this Hyatt again. read more

Nice size room with a good size couch. It's a busy hotel since it is attached to an event space. It is also right next to the Big Fish Grill, which you can order room delivery for!!! Definitely a huge bonus. It's relatively new and staffs are friendly. I enjoyed the breakfast variety and selection. read more

Love this hotel. It is a brand new hotel on the riverfront and you can tell they are trying to revitalize the area. The rooms are nicely laid out but our standard Hyatt place rooms. Beds are comfortable love the couch area. The king rooms have walk-in showers but the two queen rooms have bathtubs. There is a refrigerator in the room but no microwave. There is however a microwave for guest useIn the main reception area. The staff are all very friendly and very accommodating. As of this writing the breakfast is free if you sign up for the Hyatt rewards program, though I think that may be changing in the near future. The TV has way more stations than the Westin down the street. There are plenty of electrical outlets and USB outlets in thoughtful locations around the room. I would definitely stay here again. read more

This was originally a smooth check in process. During check in, the concierge ( very friendly woman) informed me that last call at the bar would be 11:30 pm. My associates and I, were both staying here for a brokerage event at a nearby location. After the event we Ubered back to the hotel and wanted one final night cap since it was last call at the bar and we ordered a Cosmo and a Miller Lite. All of a sudden a woman comes over to us and says we are too drunk and she is going to call the police. She did not give us a reason and went soo far as to say we needed to leave the premises. Umm we were staying at the hotel and paid good money for our rooms. Why are you trying to cause problems when we are staying here. I feel likewe were stereotyped and Renata acted on a personal bias and threatened and called law enforcement without reason. Law enforcement did not make any arrests and dismissed her claims. What a waste of what could have been a wonderful night and an almost $400 bill that I will not get refunded. Please do not stay at this hotel. read more

One of the worst service I have ever experienced in a hotel of this caliber. Spent over $750 for three nights, room was never cleaned, no one at reception desk, breakfast stopping at 9:00 AM went downstairs at 9:02 and was refused a cup of coffee. From my room no access to speak to no one by telephone. This hotel was chosen as my daughter is having her wedding reception. I could have gotten better service for my bucks at a local motel !!!!! read more

This hotel is great. We stayed overnight on NYE and from the moment we got there everyone at the hotel was incredibly nice and helpful. We checked in around 4:00pm and it wasn't super busy at the front so the lady who checked us in took a moment to actually give us a little tour of the downstairs. It's obvious that the people that work here enjoy their job. When we got to the room it was very clean, lovely, and quiet. We had a cocktail and some apps at the bar. The parmesan fries are really good, but buffalo mac and cheese is so-so. Would be better with bigger noodles and creamier cheese. It looked like Kraft. Bartender was very friendly and attentive. Breakfast in the morning was very good. The quiche was delicious. It wasn't cold and the Riverwalk is right outside the door so we walked down to the NYE party we attended. It would be nice if the hotel offered a shuttle to some of the riverfront attractions or even the Queen in the future. I would absolutely stay again. read more

My husband and I had a wonderful stay here! Conveniently located on the Riverfront with easy access to great restaurants and downtown amenities. The event space was beautiful, and the hotel staff was friendly & accommodating. It's also brand new which you can't beat for cleanliness!
