We had my daughter's 4th birthday party here last weekend and it was AMAZING!!!! 12/10!!!! It was the most magical setup and the kids were so entertained the whole time with the crafts, face painting (absolutely add this onto your package), dress up, puppet show, and dance party! All the parents kept coming up to me asking how I found this place; they were so impressed! The staff were extremely helpful from the second I walked through the front door.... From unloading my car, to setting up the food I brought, washing the fruit, blowing up a number balloon I brought. It was so relaxing for the parents; we could all just mingle and watch our kids entranced by the magical fairy themed party!!! Thank you again!! Our 6 year old daughter has absolutely loved her time at The Rabbit Hole's summer camp this week! She is incredibly excited about attending camp there again next week. She really enjoyed camp at The Rabbit Hole during the first half of Thanksgiving week as well. The counselors are warm and caring, and my daughter loves the activities and crafts. As a two-working parent family, we really appreciate having this camp/childcare option for when school is not in session. I especially appreciate the extended day option, so we have coverage from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm! (The only thing that would make it better is if we could drop off by 8:30 am!) :) It's important to be aware that The Rabbit Hole camps are in high demand, so you need to get on their email list in advance so you can be notified of when registration opens, so you can register early! read more

I invited Rabbit Hole to my school for a puppet performance for 4 to 7 year olds and everyone in the auditorium was blown away! The kiddos were smiling ear to ear with excitement. Even quiet and reserved students were eager to participate and celebrate the characters in the story. I was incredibly impressed by many facets of the show, especially as an early childhood educator who knows what this age group needs. For example, there were regular opportunities for the children in the audience to stand up and move along with the imaginative journey, getting their wiggles out as needed. The performance was playful, inspiring, and FUN! I can't recommend Rabbit Hole enough for school assemblies as they are flexible and even happy to customize their show to your curriculum themes and lessons. Our 5-year-old daughter has attended a whole bundle of Rabbit Hole camps -- as well as having a joint 5th birthday party there, attending weekend puppet show series, and a movie date night -- after absolutely loving her first experience there when she was four, and each experience has been wonderful. She comes home every day excitedly telling us why today was "the best day of Rabbit Hole yet!" thanks to all the thoughtful and creative ways the crew have come up to to spark magic and fun for the kids that day. We also often say in our house how amazed we are by what an incredible job Brooke has done at pooling together such a fabulous staff. Every single "teacher" we and our daughter have encountered at TRH have been so warm, caring, fun, and engaged. I've never encountered a staff so perfectly suited to be with kiddos in this way / at this age. We have just been so grateful to have discovered the gem that is The Rabbit Hole. Oh the magic that unfolds here, from witch's brew to flying to far away kingdoms. My little one attended classes here from the time she was 1-4 years-old, and she loved every minute if it. They were respectful of our potty requests, promptly called me if my little needed me, and were always sweet and communicative. We lived for the "report cards" at the end of each class. Our daughter attended a lot of camps this summer, but the week-long Magic Garden Summer Camp was her favorite by far. It was uniquely suited to her love of dramatic play, art, and dress-up. Rabbit Hole is WONDER-FULL! We first got to visit for a preschool graduation back in 2019. It is a great event space for birthday parties, etc. My daughter has regularly attended after school classes since 2021. Staff were thoughtful and accommodating throughout the pandemic. They are also super delightful and full of fabulous activities to fuel imagination. I love that there are classes to build different types of theatre skills as kiddos get older. And a HUGE bonus for us in the past year has been Rabbit Hole Date Nights (care from 5:30-8:30pm on a Saturday night--kids get pizza and a craft and a movie and a singalong and parents get childcare at a very reasonable cost). Extra bonus for being right down the street from my office and from Easy Breezy frozen yogurt. Appreciate Rabbit Hole and the staff so much! read more

My son went to a theater camp for the first time at the Rabbit Hole toward end of summer before his school started. This was his first English speaking camp. I was a bit worried after his staying overseas for the entire summer. He turned out loving the camp very much and every morning, he could not wait to come here. The teachers are very engaging, and loving. I don't know what their magic is, but my son gave them kisses every night before leaving, which never happened with other schools/places. He was laughing, happy and had a blast. I think it is such a neighborhood gem and I hope my son will come here for more camps/classes. Our 4yo son took part in weekly classes at the rabbit hole this year. He looked forward to going every Wednesday morning. Most of all, I wanted to write this review to highlight how wonderfully warm, child-led, and engaging Miss Meryl and Miss Jacquie have been over the course of this year. They've helped my willful child channel his abundant energy into creating and acting. The feedback I got about my son's participation was always insightful and specific; never generic. We can only hope that the other teachers that we meet along our son's educational path could be the wind in my son's sails like Miss Meryl and Miss Jacquie have been. Finding teachers who are respectful, positive, and thoughtful like these two is a gift. We can't wait to enroll our son in more classes at RH soon. read more

What a treasure to Noe Valley and San Francisco! Brooke and her team have created a magical space for kids to be creative, explore and dream up their wildest dreams. These ladies helped host a wonderful fun third birthday party for my daughter and a dozen or more other preschoolers, with a puppet show, crafts, costumes, and dancing. They never once looked put out or overwhelmed and they were unfailingly helpful at every stage of the party planning process. We had a "dragons and dinosaurs" theme and they had everything under control: refreshment setup, timing, gift bags (and someone to hand them out!), cake cutting so the busy mom didn't have to go handle it (THANKS), etc. Super fun. read more

I have had the pleasure of working with Mia and Brooke on two productions, and through the opening of the Rabbit Hole's beautiful space in the mission. Brooke and Mia are hardworking, responsible professionals. They are also talented artists with a strong vision for their business. The Rabbit Hole is a gorgeous and versatile space. It was a perfect place to rehearse our show, with lots of open space, a dance floor, and mirrors. They have done a really impressive job converting this smaller space into a practical and peaceful studio. I have also seen it when it is set up for their educational theater camps and it is an adorable playground for kids to experience. Brooke and Mia treat the people they work with with the utmost respect. Sadly, I have now moved out of SF, but if I was still in the area I would jump at the chance to work with them again. read more

The children's theater classes are an amazing introduction into theater. I have a 4 year old and 6 year old who are in the Shooting Stars class. The extroverted 4 year old begged her 6 year old introverted sister to try this class with her. It is a huge hit in our house. Both girls look forward to Wednesday after school so much that they count down the days until the next class. In fact it is currently their favorite after school activity! I knew the little one would enjoy it but I am amazed that the older one has come out of her shell and enjoys theater. Brooke and Mia do an amazing job of helping all of the children to be themselves or pretend to be other characters. The girls are learning so many skills that are helpful in school and life too! If you are looking for a great class with small child to teacher ratios this is the place for you to send your children. read more

The Rabbit Hole threw an amazing birthday party for my 4 year old twins. We were inspired to choose them by a wonderful previous Harry Potter day camp for my older son and experiences with a neighborhood book event. The 3 staff were were incredible and engaging. It was an "Under the Sea" theme with arts and crafts time (including space for reading and free play for shy kids), dress up, a puppet play, a dance party, and then time for food/treats. It was amazing to watch 3 and 4 year olds and their parents captivated for so long by the puppet play. We highly recommend the venue! I took my little daughter there for a ballet class. The space is so pretty and the teacher was very polite and kind. Not sure if my daughter will learn anything about ballet from there but I think the point is to have a nice play and use their imagination. Passion and dedication to craft in the Mission. I have seen several productions at the Rabbit Hole and produced *by* the Rabbit Hole in other venues (Exit Theatre, SF). The quality of these theatrical productions cannot be denied.The two women who run this studio are New York academy-trained actors with extensive stage and production experience. I have seen Savage in Limbo (stunning tragicomedy), Vinegar Tom (awesome production comparing modern-day slut-shaming to old-fashioned witch-burning), This is Not Poetry (a spoken word show), and Closer, a tour de force 4-person show that tackled difficult topics in an unbearably intimate way. Artistically, this company continues to top itself and lift the bar higher with each production. My best experience was in hosting a book launch at The Rabbit Hole. The space was just the right size -- not too big, not too small. The stage area and acoustics were perfect for a reading. The seating was intimate, with plenty of room for cocktail party afterward. The owners were gracious and even dressed in costume for my 1920s theme. They didn't have to do that. I know that Rabbit Hole gives children's classes; I have seen the Rabbit Hole staff at SF Farmers' Market and holding events, etc. Saw the photos online and all the kids seemed to really enjoy their experience of the visiting princess and pirate, etc. I see good things and have recommended the program to many friends. I think Brooke Wallace and Mia Romero have a good thing going here. I am pleased with my overall experience as a patron/viewer of their shows, and as a client (renting the space), I couldn't be happier. read more

We just had my daughter's 6th birthday party at The Rabbit Hole, and it was amazing. Brooke and I spoke on the phone so she could get ideas to custom-make a party just for my daughter. The party included a puppet show based on my daughter, facepainting, and unique games that Brooke and her staff created for the party. The space is a small loft that they decorated to look like an urban castle, and there was plenty of room for the parents to mingle and eat and drink while the kids enjoyed themselves. Brooke, Heidi, and Mia were wonderful -- they came dressed up and stayed in character the entire afternoon, making sure that the kids were constantly entertained. Even the older boys who would never have voluntarily gone to a princess party were caught up in the magic. It was the most creative, unique, and trouble-free birthday party I've thrown. read more

My son just finished up a theater camp at the Rabbit Hole and we've fallen in love! Street parking was simple (not what I expected), the space is very cool and Brooke and her team are warm and inviting. With limited exposure to the arts and my son being just 4, I wasn't sure what to make of such a program, but he adored every second of it and walked away with a new love for acting - and some extra confidence to boot! UNPROFESSIONALS . These people are so unprofessional. I called them a few times to ask that I would like to have an art workshop and I called a few times just to make that they know when and why do I need to place . To make an official deal, I said that i'll come in to see the place and pay for the rent. I went there, saw the place and it looked like a kids play house even though on the phone they said yes it works for an art workshop for adults. No proper chairs, no proper seats for people . Ignoring all these disappointments I still said to myself that this is not that bad - its better thn having no place at all. I made the deal and told them that I ll be coming at 1:30pm on Saturday 12th July, 2014 to set up for my workshop . I was there at 1:30 pm . I kept on knocking and calling them. No answer. I waited till 1:55pm and thats when I started praying to find another place . Luckily while asking people about these rabbit hole people, I met a woman who had a personal space and I told her what happened and that I can pay her . the nice lady helped me and agreed to it so I found another place in the same building and I was able to guide my workshop students to the other place from the main entrance . Very bad experience and so scary. What would've happened if God wouldn't had helped me at that last minute . Unprofessionals. read more

These guys are great! A real team that is passionate about creating engaging, challenging and professional independent theater. I saw there last production with a friend of the Dumbwaiter, and despite the obvious low budget they must be working with they pulled off a really thought provoking comedy. I got on their mailing list and have since rented out there space. Which is super cute. Great for small ensemble rehearsals. Dancing (full length mirrors:)) or even private events. Brooke and Mia were really helpful and timely in responding to my emails and made the whole experience worthwhile. If you're looking to rent a space check them out, or get on there Facebook and keep an eye out for upcoming events. These girls are making real independent TheAter happen. We were introduced to this place after attending a birthday party here. The actor in me (not stage mom haha) immediately jumped at the chance of enrolling my daughter in theatre class. My daughter who is used to sitting backstage with me at work was totally opposed to taking any theatre classes. She'd always correlated it to "mom's boring job". Brooke and Mia did a wonderful job engaging the children in fun, thought-provoking exercises. My daughter had a GREAT time! With busy schedules, it's hard to coordinate because we live across town. I'm determined to have my daughter re-join the classes, so I'm willing to make that drive. Love this place. read more
