They only sell almondwood. This is basically DIY wood yard. Very friendly staff. Delivery wasn't available the day I visited, so I went and rented a truck. Friendly guy explained to me that I pick a rack that is stacked with wood. The racks are colored based on cord size. There are gloves conveniently clipped to each rack. Use and clip back. You pay for the rack, back your vehicle up to the rack, and load the wood off it into your vehicle. Really, if no one is at the yard, you put money in this box and do the above mentioned. I've lived in the AV for 21 years and never heard of this place until I got older. Tim was so helpful with how to start a fire and showed me exactly what I needed to do. I bought the 50$ cart and I'm thinking I probably need more. 10$ for kindling in a huge feed bag. They also have wood for smoking. They have I'd say at least 10 different types of wood to smoke with. It's a bit of a drive from the SCV, but if you want almond wood for your smoker its the place to go. It's more or less self serve. They have metal racks holding various amounts of cut and stacked wood with pricing attached to the rack depending on the quantity you want. Pick the rack with amount of wood you want, put your money in the courtesy box and load your vehicle, easy peasy. For $50.00 I got about 2 wheel barrows full. read more

My wife and I went here for the first time today. Our Neapolitan Mastiff decided it would be a good idea to eat the power supply of our Central AC/Heat Unit in the back yard so instead of paying several hundred dollars to have that fixed, we decided to come here and check it out. The "Ranch" sits on a couple acres and it replete with fire wood. We were amazed at how easy it was; especially being the firewood newbies that we are. He had several bins all laid out in various sizes and denominations... Everything from $20 on up to a whole cord for, I think he said, $380. We settled on the $60 size and I feel very confident that this will last us through the holidays if not through the whole of winter. Tim was very helpful and fair. He has a honest system that's there if he isn't available. He's got the scale and a drop off box for the money for the wood you buy. That's awesome! There is no place in Ridgecrest to my knowledge to get firewood or have it delivered. The only place that did was the Ranch out of Lancaster/Palmdale. What a great place to do business with. Mark delivered my wood split as requested. I requested Half Almond wood and Half Oak. Done! ! ! ! They are truly the go to guys for firewood. Last year we used The Ranch and the service was very good. This year they promised one price on the phone but once they realized that I couldn't stack the wood myself, the price went up from $30 to $50 (stacking fee). I feel like they used their leverage to extort the additional money. I had to pay it because I'm unable to lift heavy weights but I will never use their services again.
