Friendly guy explained to me that I pick a rack that is stacked with wood. The racks are colored based on cord size. There are gloves conveniently clipped to each rack. Use and clip back. You pay for the rack, back your vehicle up to the rack, and load the wood off it into your vehicle. Really, if no one is at the yard, you put money in this box and do the above mentioned. Plenty of room for any vehicle you drive. All dirt yards, so wear correct shoes.

I've been using "Wood Heat Express" (WHE) for at least 20 years, and after they sold their business, I noticed a decrease in the quality of the wood, and in the delivered quantity... I ordered the Eucalyptus Mix (1 cord), and the cost was about $100 less than the equivalent amount of almond that I always purchased from WHE... The way the wood burns, and the ease of starting my fire are far superior to what I was experiencing... The company, which is actually called Wrightwood Firewood, delivered exactly on the time and date that I chose on-line, for free in Lancaster near the Big Park off the 14 fwy... I spoke with the owner on the phone to arrange payment details, and he was just an amazing guy... When I got home after they delivered the wood, I couldn't believe my eyes... After giving 2 1/2 pickup loads to my friends, I still had as much wood left as what was in the last load that I bought from WHE... This Eucalyptus burns so good, due to it's proper seasoning and I guess because of the characteristics, I don't worry for a second about watching the fire for embers that pop and crack out onto my carpet... I'm so glad WHE stopped selling firewood this year. I'm a very LOYAL customer, and I never would have tried anyone else...

It was a great suggestion. Now I realize that Peach Hills Soils was the way to go from the beginning. What a nice place for quality soil, mulch, landscaping rocks and more. The sign is easy to see from Los Angeles Ave and their lot is all the way down past the nurseries, you'll spot the barn and their office. My rock orders were below their delivery minimums but I was able to arrange pickup. This place is noobie friendly and pro friendly. There are multiple varities of mulch that you can bag yourself. They have a nice selection of river pebbles and huge boulders. Walkable lot, well worth a visit.
