Straightening my teeth with Invisalign wasn't terribly complicated, but getting me settled in a retainer after my treatment was complete was kind of dicey. I needed him to adjust it so my bite at night was neutral -- long story, but it has to do with being able to breathe when I'm sleeping (no clenching on back molars.) My request was kind of new to him, but he kindly and patiently listened to me and said, "I'm going to trust that you know what your body needs." And then he worked with me for close to an hour to adjust the bite on my retainer! I never once felt like he was exasperated. He truly won't rest until his patients are comfortable and happy. But Dr. Henry has also done something that so many others haven't: he's gathered a team of gifted, deeply dedicated support staff that made all the difference for me. This practice has several offices and he serves people in many locations. But when I needed something and he wasn't in the office, Val took exceptional care of me. Every single time I had a question or concern, I knew she was going to talk to Dr. Henry about it and together, they would find the best solution for me. What an incredible team they are! At my next to last visit, Val told me she would carefully explain our conversation to him, and when she did, he had the confidence to move forward with her recommendations. And guess what? It resulted in my getting e-x-a-c-t-l-y what I needed. Every single night I am grateful for my custom-made retainer because I can SLEEP. Bottom line: rest assured Dr. Henry has your back, and that his staff (especially Val) is not only highly skilled, but they also extend his generosity of spirit even when he's not there. Parking: big free lot outside. Always a plus! First impression: visually, the office is very outdated and old-looking. I was initially taken aback when I arrived, because I have never been to an office that looked like this before. I had pretty low expectations because of this. The chairs in the waiting room are ripped up on the bottoms, so the material is sagging down to the floor. Decor is minimal inside, and it is stuffy and has no natural light. Same for the exam rooms in the back. The technology (exam chair, moveable lights, etc) look like they are all older than me! Dentist: I was seen by Dr. Stanley Lin, D.D.S. Right from the beginning, he was extremely polite and personable. He easily built great rapport and was thorough with my exam and cleaning. I felt immediately at ease and the appointment went by quickly. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Lin, just know that the office is not the most visually appealing one!

Thirty days ago, I scheduled new patient appointments online for both my spouse and myself. I received an email confirmation at the time of booking, followed by an automated reminder shortly before the appointment date. When I arrived--on time--for the first of the two appointments, I was informed that I was not on the schedule at all. The receptionist initially asked whether I might be at the wrong location. I showed her the confirmation email from their own online booking system, at which point she acknowledged that their online scheduling system does not work. This is not disclosed anywhere on their website, and the system presents itself as fully functional: accepting appointments, sending confirmations, and issuing reminders, creating a reasonable expectation that the appointment has been properly recorded. While the receptionist was courteous and apologetic and did reschedule me, a more serious concern arose during intake. When intake questions began, I asked whether the forms I had already completed online, including extensive personal, insurance, and medical history information, were available in my chart. I was told no, because the website does not track or transmit that information to the office. At that point, I had to stop the process. The intake forms required the upload of significant amounts of personally identifiable information (PII) and protected health information (PHI): data that is protected under both federal and Texas law. The staff could not tell me: where that information is stored, whether it was transmitted securely, who has access to it, or whether it is retained, audited, or properly safeguarded at all. Given these uncertainties, I formally requested that a manager and/or the organization's privacy officer contact me. When an organization invites patients to submit legally protected data through its systems, it has a legal obligation to know where that data resides and how it is protected. Failing to do so raises serious concerns about privacy compliance and patient trust. This review reflects concern, not hostility, and I am hoping the organization takes this feedback seriously, addresses the operational and privacy gaps, and demonstrates compliance with applicable law so this review can be updated accordingly.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Seth Briggs and his staff at Austin Orthodontics. Honestly, it was a bit by chance that my daughter's orthodontic care was transferred to Dr. Briggs when we moved from out of state a few years ago, but he managed and completed her care with great results. He has since treated my son with expansion as we continue to monitor his development, and we believe in Dr. Briggs so much that even my wife is in treatment to address issues from previous orthodontic care. Aside from the confidence that I have in Dr. Brigg's professional skills and acumen, his chair side manner, personality and demeanor make it clear that he really cares. One of the highest compliments is when colleagues entrust you with their care and that of their family. So, if it is any indication just how well thought of Dr. Briggs is as an orthodontist and a person, I know of several other dental professionals that put their families' orthodontic care in the hands of Dr. Briggs and his fantastic staff.

They spent the whole 2 hours trying to get their X ray machine fixed Second time they had me scheduled for a deep cleaning of half my mouth and laser gum therapy, they billed me for both but failed to tell me they don't have someone present to do the laser therapy so they only cleaned half my mouth. I had to reschedule my third appointment because I had a work conflict and they were threatening to charge me a $50 fee even after their past screwups The third time the dental hygienist was ready to clean the other side of my mouth, noticed plaque on the side that was previously cleaned 2 weeks before but said she can only clean one side of my mouth. This is when I decided I wouldn't be returning. I want to leave the dentist with a clean mouth, not just half a clean mouth! The deep cleaning was stupid expensive because they failed to tell me they were out of network with my insurance, had I known that I wouldn't have even gone. Run, don't walk, away from this place unless you like going to a dentists office where the staff isn't ready to work, is ready to over bill you, and is you like professionals taking to you in a really condescending tone. I've lived in Dallas, Austin, and Houston, I usually go every 6 months and in general LOVE the dentist. This is by far, the worst, practice I've ever been to. They run this place like it's a popsicle stand as opposed to operating it like a professional establishment.

I think this is my third or fourth time back for adjustments since I got a bottom denture from AFD. They are so accommodating and kind. They keep going until it is working for you. I think we finally worked out all the kinks and I was overwhelmed with emotion about how good my denture felt when I left today. I loved my previous dentist and was loyal to him but we relocated to Austin a little less than a year ago and so we can't go to Huntington Beach for cleanings anymore. No problem this women run business has all the cool tech and amazing client care I have come to adore and they have amazing bedside manner. I appreciate that your first appointment is thoroughly checking your baseline and you can see over your next cleanings what progress needs to be made and they track it for you. They have the coolest 3D imagery technology too. I also had my teeth whitened (over $1000) for my wedding and it whitened my teeth 2 -2 &1/2 levels which made a difference in the close up pictures! Because of them I'm more motivated to floss because I want to improve my progress! They are also incredible about trying to respect your time and schedule you if you have an emergency. (Individual results may vary but found them to be very accommodating)
