I have been going here since it opened years ago. It is a 40 min drive from where I live, but well worth it. The range is great and lots of fun to use. More importantly, the people who work there are consummate professionals who know more about guns than anyone else I know. They even have their own gun smith, Brandon, who is very generous in sharing his knowledge about firearms with anyone who asks. They only carry guns that are of very good to superb quality. They do not carry Saturday night specials. They have guns you will enjoy shooting for sport. Or if your life depends on a firearm, they carry Sig Sauer, H&K, Kimber and Wilson Combat. I had the rudest experience at the range yesterday. I went to go shoot with a friend of mine, we were there for about two hours. We went to the counter to get our IDs and the man throws our IDs at me when he finds out I was using guest passes. I guess because your company didn't make thirty dollars off me I'm not a customer. Why have guest passes if you are going to get mad when people use them? I'm not going to this range for a while. read more

Bought a $700.00 pistol here. Brought it back to The Range to get sight adjusted, one of the staff adjusted the sight (free of charge). But He chipped up the paint on the pistol near the sight. He also covered the chipped area with a black permanent marker. I guess he thought i wouldn't notice the chipped paint on my brand new pistol. Very Unprofessional. He could have at least pointed out the mistake he made instead of trying to cover it up. read more

I never in a million years thought I'd be going to a gun store and shooting range - let alone reviewing one! It was recommended to us so that my husband and I could try out different guns to see what might be right for us. (My husband has a rifle that he shot decades ago - I've never even held a gun!) I actually had called The Range a couple times to see if they had the guns "for rent" that we were interested in trying. Each time the person on the phone was VERY pleasant and helpful. They suggested a Beginners Class (on almost all Monday nights) - to learn about guns, holding the gun, standing correctly, etc. It is a one-hour classroom class and then about 1 hour on the range w/the instructor. We did take the Monday night Beginner's class - and were glad we did. When we entered the store/Range - we were greeted and graciously helped with ALL our questions. Each staff member was super! The following day we went back to try a couple different types of guns to see what might be good for us. Again, the staff was SOOOO patient and helpful - in sharing how to load the ammunition into the gun, helping w/jams during practice, etc - just all around a wonderful staff experience. When you rent (try) their gun - there is a basic fee ($10) for the rental; you can try different guns in that fee; there is a range fee ($15). And . .a target fee ($.99) - And . .. if renting one of their guns you must use their ammunition (for safety reasons.) There were a couple times we certainly felt stupid w/our questions when we were shooting, but . . not due to the staff at all - just us (like speaking a brand new foreign language following one lesson - and being expected to put together paragraphs!!!) You can stay as long as you'd like for the above fee. If you bring your own gun, you can bring your own ammunition, so . . .only the range fee and target fees would apply. There are nice chairs to sit in - centrally located in the store. Water and coffee available - and restrooms. We will return to try a couple more guns - and would happy to recommend The Range to others interested in learning about guns, what might be right for them, how to use one, etc. It seems that each person has their own preferences and each person offered different yet valuable tips. read more

About a week ago I had called the range in regards to taking my younger sisters shooting( which both are 19). I asked the gentleman if it would be fine since I am over 21 to rent the firearm and have them shoot, he said it was no problem just bring valued ID. The next day I head on over to the range with my sisters walk up to the rental spot and let him know we would like to shoot he said alright everything checks out but go and fill out a waiver. Once we finish filling out a waiver we head back to the counter and another employee jumps in to help us. This other employee asked for our ID and we have him it and he begins to ask if I am the legal guardian of my sisters....... I respond with they are 19 and he kept repeating himself and finally he tells me to go get a waiver signed by their guardian. Most employees there seem really miserable like they don't want to be there, and in all honesty I would have just said whatever some guy must be having a bad day but I drove over 45 minutes 3 towns over to go to the range hence the reason for calling ahead the night before. I've been coming here for about a year now, and usually shoot about once a week. Of all the indoor ranges I've been to, this is probably my favorite. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They remember you and are a lot of fun to just shoot the bull with. I actually enjoy hanging out for a bit after shooting, which is very different from the atmosphere at the other indoor range in town. They do a good job of policing the activity on the line to keep everyone safe, while at the same time not giving you grief if you're a regular doing some double taps. read more

Yesterday was the first time I had been to the Range. My purpose was get some range time in. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. It is also awesome that they are open on Sundays! Still, I did not particularly enjoy my range time though. The gun range itself felt very cramped and not well ventilated. I also think it was the loudest indoor range I have ever been in! It seemed like more people were interested in taking pictures or videos than shooting. Looking at the building from the outside and how nice the showroom is I was really expecting a better range configuration. I think if I come back I will try to find a time when they are less busy, maybe it will be better then. read more

Best selection of firearms in Fresno! Great place to get some pratice

I love the range! Ladies shoot free on Tuesday and I love that since it saves a nice chunk of change. It's clean and friendly. Gabe is a great guy and so is James. Lots of knowledge and they love to help their customers. Being a member they give some nice perks to customers. The only thing that bugs me is that they added a backing to their targets which aides in hanging the target but when you change the distance of the target there is so much feedback from the cable that you have to wait 1-2 minutes for it to stop moving. This is only irritating if you are doing precision aiming... Otherwise it's great practice on a moving target:-) read more

Standard range price is best I've seen in town so far which is often nice considering the drive times usually to each gun place. Gun prices are average. Sometimes they have good deals but in the end you need to realize you live in California and everywhere has their own sort of premium, but you have to let the hippies vote come time. Staff is always friendly. The safety supervisors can get a bit hoverey sometimes but in the end they are there to help you and they will always answer your questions whether you are paying them or not. They don't have the time to look through each persons paperwork to see what kind of training you have had so in the end don't be offended if they offer help, it's just advice take it or leave it. We all have our preferred methods. It can get busy after work hours so be prepared to wait a bit. Usually during the afternoon is a great time to go. Overall it's a good place especially if you are new to the gun scene. Sad to see some of the reviews on here of people not receiving special treatment, and others of people claiming of cocky staff when they are offered advice. Majority of the time you are not approached unless you seem troubled or even you know you just did something wrong and you're mad they pointed it out. read more

some staff were nice and prices were reasonable, but management policy is a scam. after buying a new firearm, i had a ridiculous amount of issues with the gun, after calling Sig Sauer, i was advised i need to have the dealer send the firearm back to sig and they will fix the gun. Upon calling the range, a manager stated they do not handle warranty returns and its on Sig. the range refused to help me out with warranty process, i was even told by the manager "that would take my guy an hour to fill out" the range sold me a lemon and now they are refusing to spend any time helping me redeem the warranty, and their return policy is a 25% restocking fee. I am very disappointed in how friendly staff can change their attitudes over a few dollars. i will not be using or buying anything from the range again, i have contacted another sig dealer who is willing to help me out with the return even though the gun was bought at the range pistol club. Be wary if you buy a gun here because the range will not back up the things they sell. read more

Our family has been members here for a year now and are very satisfied with all aspects of The Range. The employees are very professional and knowledgeable. The facility is always clean and well organized with a great selection of firearms and accessories. I took my concealed carry class here and everyone was very helpful. There is a nice waiting area if you just want to come in and watch other people shoot. We bring our 7 year old granddaughter with us and she enjoys watching the family shoot while she is in the quiet waiting area and we can watch her through the window. We have made several purchases here and are very pleased with all of the help and attention we have received. read more

Fantastic!!! Blows Herb Bauer out of the water. Bottom line.... Herb Bauer treated me like a poor broke idiot and the guys at the Range were very helpful and nice. Also gave me a smoking deal on my new gun!!! I took me about 30 minutes to decide between 4 or 5 guns and the sales rep actualy seemed to enjoy educating me!! I love to go shooting here and the staff are always friendly and helpful. They take the time to answer any questions you may have and really make you feel taken care of while also having fun. I was able to rent a gun I was considering buying which allowed me to make the final decision to buy since I knew I was comfortable with it. I also love the ladies night which waives the lane fee for women so it makes it much cheaper to go shooting, and once I get my gun it'll be free because I won't have to pay for a gun rental. Overall a great place and I've never had to wait long for a lane. read more

Nice modern updated facility. Even my wife, who chose not to shoot, admired the plush waiting/lounge area. The staff was professional; polite, knowledable, and helpful in every aspect. I'm 72 yrs old...i have not fired a pistol in 50 yrs.....i purchased a 380......so i went in there, to take my test and transfer my 380.......from the owner brian to the staff at the front desk and the instructors made me fill very comfortable ......i feel any age that you may be, they will always take good care of you, and make you feel comfortable in firing your weapon, which i was very nervous the first......there instructor who help me made me feel like i was pro......i highly recommend the range........sam shabaglian... read more

I went here a couple of years ago, thought it was a bit expensive, around $50 to rent their gun, lane fees, target, their ammo, etc. Now I have my own gun and wanted a membership. I had heard it was around $125-$150 for a new member, but was informed that their fees had just gone up to $300 a year! Too rich for my blood. Good staff, from what I remember, well kept, nice inventory, but they just want too much money now. Now I'm going to Auberry for $130. read more

It's okay shooting there, but I have a few issues. The last time I shot at The Range was in May 2015. I felt like the lighting was too dim, The shooting booth was in bad repair, but it was tolerable and pleasantly gloomy. The place is a little rough around the edges, but the staff is very kind and helpful. They are a bit pricey, but did agree to install some purchased night sights free of charge. They don't have a large selection of merchandise, but what they do carry is of very good quality. They have tons of glock accessories, which is a plus also.
