The staff is so very friendly and make sure you know they really appreciate your business! i was supposed to order bread and treats from The Tasty Bakery on Saturday, as I was coming to Red Deer today from two hours away, but I forgot! I called the store this morning hoping there might be some treats available for me to put aside. The owner Don (such a nice guy) answered the phone and asked what I would like. I told him my order and he did say he didn't have all that I wanted but would do his best! Well, I got to the store just after noon and was grateful he had put aside what he had! I paid and set off for my two hour drive home. I got home and opened the bags and there was EXACTLY what I had ordered! I don't know if he found he had more than he thought or baked extra just for me but I was so surprised and pleased! I don't know why anyone would buy their baked goods anywhere else!

Lacombe is becoming a more frequented place for me to meet country town & rural friends. Mostly as Red Deer is just too busy to accommodate last minute get togethers unless you are closer by & have the opportunity/time to drive around. That's how I first got to experience Ona & that was back when there was a furniture & a homewares store including the cafe within it. Things have changed since then (now only cafe & cafe space is significantly larger with raised patio in back) but still fabulous food & great coffee. Plus the bonus is the neat extras one can also purchase. Lots of lower height tables & it seems to be quite popular with larger groups & families (observation from my last visit a few weeks ago). Parking is on the streets around but I have yet to walk further than a block. Bathrooms are generous in size & I greatly appreciate how well kept they are considering how popular this place always seems. Decently lit with lots of natural light. A bit more on the louder side now that it is only a cafe but still a good spot to cool off & rest the arms from driving. I've tried treats & sandwiches here - both are of decent sizes & what the price of this are these days, I would say at a reasonable price. Coffee is always tasty here & I quite enjoyed the iced option this last stop being that the outside temp was over 25C. Staff are always friendly here & great at answering questions. As a cane user, I also greatly appreciate that things are bright out to the table so I don't have to navigate around searching for seating with food &/or drink plus a cane in the other hand. Today we were in Camrose so we stopped in for lunch. The first thing we noticed is that the café has the ambiance of Ikea. That's good or not good depending on your preferences. It certainly has a clean feel to it and you can see into the bakery through some glass doors. On the menu everything seemed to be the same price at $17.50 in 2022. I ordered the Lefse Wrap with beef. It was okay. The Lefse itself was quite good but the beef wasn't anything special. Still, it's a nice size and seems to be popular. At first I thought it was expensive but then I discovered that each meal includes dessert. With the dessert included the price seems reasonable. It's not a dessert like pie or anything large like that but any baked goods under the front glass counter is included. I had the Lingonberry chocolate puffs and I got two served with cream. The presentation was beautiful and they were delicious. Service was first rate. The young lady was pleasant, cheerful and seemed to genuinely appreciate our business. Coffee came with refills. This is a destination café and makes for an enjoyable lunch. I recommend it. Oh and they sell lots of Swedish themed gifts from Swedish flags of all sizes to mittens.

Tasted fine but no real seasoning. Bacon was limp and small. Bread was 10/10 so tasty, jam included was great too. Dill pickle soup was 10/10, comes with your choice of bread. Boyfriend chose rye and gave it 10/10 but I didn't like as it had a very strong flavor.
