This is a really cute shop. Actually it's two shops, as they have another building just across the parking lot. There are a lot of nice things here, and there is no doubt that you will probably find something you like. They have some big pieces here, so if you are furnishing your house from scratch you should take a peek through the windows here. Finding something you like at a price you are willing to pay for it may be a bit more of a challenge however. As the wife likes to say, they are really proud of some of their things. read more

Fantastic selection of high end furniture and accessories, priced like much less expensive pieces. Not inexpensive, but definitely worth it. Styles range from the rustic to the artistic, many European antiques with a good selection of western in-between. Lots of fine leather sofas that look like new. This turned out to be a disappointing shopping experience. We found a sofa we liked, bought it and had it delivered. The first day we had it my wife started suffering allergic reactions. She said the couch smelled like it had been cleaned with some toxic cleaner and she couldn't stand it. I also began having strange symptoms. So we called the Raven right away and said we can't keep this couch, it's too toxic for our house. They said there were 'no returns' but they would pick it up and try to re-sell it. We would get 50% of whatever they sold it for. Not the best deal in the world. Long story short, we sold it on Craigslist after cleaning it ourselves with a steam cleaner. In the end, we were out half the cost of the sofa. Be careful when you shop here. read more

Yeah, everything is on the pricy side. But they have some unbelievably unique items, and real estate in Santa Fe isn't cheap. The Raven has expanded into the building that once housed 3 smaller antique places on the north side of their parking lot and now has about 40% more stuff. This place is a feast for the eyes and the owner is a gem... I've always found her personable and willing to give a discount for antique lover that sometimes had eyes bigger than her pocketbook. When we went today, several people asked us if we were OK and if we needed any help. I always love coming here, and today was no exception. read more

I do like many of the items in this store, but they are overpriced and it isn't all antiques. The other day they had a shipment of Restoration Hardware couches, chairs and stools that I had gotten a few months back from Restoration Hardware and sent back (didn't like the look or quality at all). Luckily, Restoration Hardware is great about returns. I looked up prices out of curiosity and they listed their items for the same price as Restoration. Also, after I bought something from from them and looked it up on Craigslist afterwards. I found a bunch there and on the internet for $150. I paid $650 to them and that was after talking them down from over $700. So, I think you can find interesting things once in a while, but they are way overpriced and I was disappointed. I don't think I'll be antiquing in Santa Fe anymore. The only place even more overpriced is Seret and Sons. read more

I have bought several items here over the past few years, and they have resold some items that I had moved here with and then didn't need. This place is GREAT! The inventory changes almost daily, and the best stuff goes fast, so it pays to drop by at least once a week if you are looking for something particular. I don't know what store the two reviewers are talking about when they speak of mass-market resale --perhaps there was some confustion. It certainly doesn't sound like the Recollections I know! I have a fine old European desk from there, that I know came from the estate of a well-known friend-of-a-friend. The prices are not "give-away cheap" but they are extremely reasonable compared to buying anything new. And their stuff generally has a lot more character. read more

Nice selection of items, but the prices are outrageous. Also, I took items for consignment and was really disappointed! I was supposed to be paid once a month for the items that had sold. That never happened. I had to call and call to get payments. Finally, I said I wanted to be paid for everything that had sold and take the items that hadn't sold. I received an accounting that was incorrect. I walked through the store and found several of my items that hadn't be sold or returned. I enjoy seeing the items in the store, but I always wonder who isn't getting paid for what is sold. read more

I stop by Raven every week or so. Ive found giant antique baskets, almost new couches, a giant mirror for my bedroom. The staff is always friendly, helpful and negotiable. They have reduced the price on almost everything I have purchased. Nothing crazy, but enough that I feel not ripped off and that there is a genuine back and forth. The store is huge and stuffed with goods. You're not going to walk and find an orderly, anal space. After all, its a consignment store, so items are coming and going all the time. Everywhere you look from floor to ceiling, STUFF. Plan to spend some time slowly waking around, taking it all in. The girls at the front are gorgeous, professional and happy to help. I've been going to Recollections for years and always had great experiences there. The owner has a sharp eye for quality and the store is always full of unique pieces. Better yet, the prices are always great. I've been able to furnish most of my house with stuff from Recollections - both inside and outside! I've also sold some items on consignment and they move really quickly, which is obviously great. Whenever I need something new for the house - Recollections is my first stop! read more

We come to this store every time we are in Santa fe. My husband and I have had really great luck finding great pieces for our house here. Personally I dont care if they aren't "antique" per se... If its a great piece that fits what we are looking for and a decent price then I don't care where it came from. We found 3 amazingly priced floor models from the Santa fe custom furniture store ACC for literally a third of the price in almost perfect condition with tags still on them.. Totally custom so they aren't massed produced. We also found a cool chandelier for about 1/4 of the retail price after we looked it up and a hand carved wormwood table... Then some small things like a sconce and a small little hutch. We have had probably ten visits to this store where'd we didn't find anything but that's the fun part.. Each time the store has different things to explore its like a treasure hunt. They also will work with you on prices if u buy multiples or are a regular purchaser. They also wrapped our stuff really well to survive the trio back to Albuquerque ;)... Ohhh and u can bring your dog in! read more

Very unhappy with the level of professionalism and customer service. I took photos in, met with the owner, agreed to pricing but the store was full and we agreed to wait until they needed more pieces like mine. Waited for weeks, no response, I called back and dealt with another staff member who was equally rude - no customer service - When I finally got a call back, the staff member was defensive and unyielding. A couple of my clients have spent a fortune in this store in the past and I have made sure that they will no longer be shopping here. Huge disappointment. This store is the best! It has an amazing inventory of everything from huge armoires to jewelry. The merchandise turns over very quickly so if you see something you like, don't wait. I have done that too many times only to be disappointed when something sold before I could return for it. It always has something new and interesting in there. While the Raven gets interesting consignments, sometimes they are a little too greedy....and the prices are always high. Case in point. They took in a fairly modern chest with considerable damage front and back. The price was high, not a lot, but enough and they only would consider a small discount. Then they moved the piece, I think to hide the back damage which was considerable and in the process gouged a sizeable piece in the front. We really liked the piece enough to have had a fine woodworking specialists look at it and render his opinion of the damage and repairs to the front not including the new damage and then we tried to get a little better deal.....but even with the new damage which they did, no better consideration. i am sure the owner of the piece does not know they damaged his piece. We live in Santa Fe and are repeat customers........so much for being smart about Customer satisfaction.......I agree with D.F. and quiet life Totally. The original owner had more business acumen and the original name reflected the character of the store. read more

I really like this shop's eclecticism -- yes, there are reproduction pieces in stock, and yes, sometimes the pricing leaves me scratching my head (i.e. $118 for the same ceramic salad bowl that I got at Tuesday morning for $19.99), but on the flip side, I have snatched up fabulous bargains on furniture there, particularly with respect to case goods. If you ask, they usually can "do better" than the prices marked, without having to haggle. The store is well-kept, and apparently well-managed, with helpful employees (with a special shout-out to Angelica, who goes the extra mile). It's always a joy to browse the shop -- and I rarely leave without something I didn't know I couldn't live without! read more

This is one great store! I drive from Albuquerque on a weekly basis solely to shop there. Very nice higher end newer furniture and a few exceptional antiques. I mainly look for antiques and have found a few exceptional 18th century pieces for very reasonable prices. Morningside Antiques in Albuquerque and Recollections are my favorite stores in the state (Cutters in Las Cruces is also a good place). I drive to santa Fe for Chinese food at YinYang and the on to Recollections for dessert. I have a strong craving to go to recollections right now as I write this review! I feel the staff are agreeable and helpful. I am not sure what a couple of the other reviewers are thinking. You won't always find something on each visit, but as one reviewer said, that is the fun of it. I have found some real treasures there and know I will find more in the future. The prices are not cheap, but I usually focus on that occasional exceptional bargain. Remember, you usually get what you pay for and high quality is rarely cheap. read more
