Where else can you get sirloin strip and a lobster tail for $25? It's not 5 star dining but great for an unplanned dinner out. It's also fantastic to find a quick bite that is not all fried food! The patio was comfy but faced a busy street - rush hour! The service was absolutely excellent. We were the only ones on the patio for most of our visit but our server didn't neglect us!

The price for the steak was great, but I feel it was a AA sirloin, fry portion was smaller than most establishment. By default they do not salt it. The meal is served with bbq sauce. The dessert, would have preferred vanilla ice cream. Just a heads up, there is a covid surcharge of 3% on top of the bill price; if you're not cool with that just manually adjust your tip on your transaction. That's what I did. Dropped down a star for the covid surcharge. Not a fan of surcharge. Next is food price increase, followed by decreased portions. We are all impacted by covid, one upside is the greater take out business that increase your kitchen staff serve at higher turnover; so why complain over covid, its great for business!

One, bars don't run out of glasses. Two, as soon as my friend ordered an ice tea they 'happened to find a glass'. It is terrible service to save glasses for only people who are paying to drink, especially when we bought food anyways so we just wanted something to wash it down with. To top it off, the food here isn't that great, it's pretty hit or miss to say the least. My friends have gotten undercooked pizza before. So I will say unless I'm there to play trivia, I won't I go out of my way to go to brass taps I went back the other day and I honestly was unimpressed yet again. They weren't busy but the service is so slow and we ordered a bunch of appetizers but I was only happy with two of them. I only liked the coconut shrimp and the waffle fries. Otherwise, we had nachos that were scarce on cheese, spinach and artichoke dip that was mediocre at best, and the soft pretzels were bland with not a great sauce. I would recommend avoiding brass taps and going elsewhere on the Guelph campus for food and drink.

We were mistaken; there were no iPhone 3G(s) phones anywhere in Ontario -- could not get them for love nor money. We weren't about to purchase phones we didn't want, since we'd only qualify for the promotional price for the phones once, so we left unsatisfied. Found a pay-phone and called our new landlord, who met us at the house. After a walkthrough of our new premises, after settling the cats in with litter-box and water, after hastily unloading the car, we took our exhausted selves off to find someplace open for dinner at 9:30 at night. The shopping mall a couple of blocks from our house had a bar/grill called "Shoeless Joe's" that was open; the bar was crowded, so we opted to eat in the quiet dining room. Our waitress was pleasant, personable and efficient; she was also, apparently, being given a hard time by some drunkies in the bar next door (we overheard her conversing with the manager about refusing service to someone). Well, we weren't going to give anyone any trouble, tired and hungry as we were. I got the lobster fettuccine with tomato cream sauce; His Goatness got the meaty-meat platter with hickory smoked BBQ ribs and chicken wings with a smoked jalapeño honey sauce. We ordered the Sleeman's Honey Ale, which a friend of ours declaimed as her favorite beer -- it arrived in a can that was so plain and cheap-looking as to appear generic. The taste: flat as a pre-teen training bra. No complexity, no real flavor. What a disappointment! Dinner: late-night bar food chain standard, like what could be found in any Chile's or TGI Friday's. (HG liked his meaty-meat better than I liked my entree. What I tasted of the lobster suggested that it was better I not really taste it through the heavy sauce.) Still, I am grateful that they were open that late, and I always appreciate great service. Finally fed, our humor improved as we headed home to camp in our empty house...

The menu has a big variety so it's good for large groups and the portions are generous. So far I've ordered their braised beef mac & cheese and their ragu sausage risotto. I would get the Mac & cheese again but the risotto didn't have as much meat. The boys either get the burgers and wings, and they like it! The seafood bisque as a side for the wings was really good. The spinach dip was decent but nothing too special. The banana cheesecake was pretty unique and had a good consistency but it gets pretty sweet so i definitely recommend sharing. I ended up getting their grilled chicken sandwich with fries and gravy and an iced tea. The thing with this sandwich that made it so good was the combination of red pepper and feta cheese with it. it was a unique combo that had flavour in every bite. Of course, the fries with gravy superb as always since the fries are double cooked. The service was on point and professional like it always is with One Eyed Jack. the ambiance for sports is probably the best in the city of Barrie. The 15 dollar lunch , it's simple but it works very well for One Eyed Jack. I hope they will have NFL Sunday Ticket in September when the National Football League starts!
