Not only did they raise their shipping prices, they now use a low quality shipping company. That company loses things and when they do, The RealReal takes days into weeks to do nothing. They do not even bother to contact the shipping company when there is a known point at which the lost package was being handled. The shipping company simply states the item is lost. On top of that The RealReal makes it very difficult to locate a phone number for them. When you do, the staff refuses to allow you to speak with a manager. Zero stars would be the better review. Bad performance; bad service; bad outcome. Best to cease doing business with this company. This is NY experience but I have had the same elsewhere. read more

As an overseas customer who has purchased nearly 600 items from TheRealReal in about a year, I am truly disappointed with the original and outdated management system of TheRealReal. 1. It's certain that you often receive products that don't match the description. This is a common little trick of TheRealReal. It's hard to imagine that such a listed company could play such a 'naughty trick'. 2. Want to get a refund before shipping? No way! Temporary workers won't look at your purchase history at all. They'll take advantage of you whenever they can. Even if you just want to return a confirmed order to save on shipping and repurchase with additional items. Don't worry, different customer service representatives will use different excuses to deceive you. Even before shipping, you can't get a refund. The regret period is only 15 minutes. See, this is a rule that isn't written on the product purchase page. 3. Even though they could have chosen not to ship the items, The RealReal still decided to do so after I applied for a return. Let me think, were they afraid that if I returned the shoes, I wouldn't buy them anymore? How could I return an order that included over a dozen pairs of shoes? What if I didn't want to buy them anymore? It wasn't until I showed them my purchase history for the past year and my identity as a high-heel blogger that they apologized and said, "We'll return the package for you." 4. Even though their associate assured me: "We've already contacted UPS! Please rest assured! Please ignore the update of the tracking number!" I was still pleasantly surprised to receive the package and, under the delivery person's watchful eyes, checked the package and asked him to take it back to UPS. 5. After two weeks of no response despite the package being scanned at the warehouse in the sending country, I contacted UPS. UPS said that the sender (TRR) needed to be contacted. However, when I asked the sender, they gave me no information every day and told me to wait. 6. Later, I found out that those employees who claimed to have proactively contacted UPS to return the packages after shipment were lying. They were just repeating the same words every day to fob me off, telling me to take a break and stop messaging them. I think it might be me who has affected their chance to relax properly at work. 7. I'm currently very worried about an order that still has over 1700 US dollars that hasn't been refunded. However, the order interface shows "shipped" and all items as "not returnable", which gives me a whiff of taking advantage of loopholes and fraud. According to what an employee of TRR said, their courier services are all insured, and even if the goods are lost, compensation can be obtained. So now, for the order that I haven't received the goods and need to return and get a refund, its status has changed to "completed". Am I in a very "dangerous" position now? 8. TheRealReal Do you want to solve the problem? If so, don't let your family dolls talk to me anymore. read more

This review is not for this specific store but rather for online purchases. TRR prides themselves on top notch quality control. However, there have been 2 separate instances where I have purchased items labeled "excellent condition" but that was not the case. 1) a Burberry leather skirt- purchased and never wore it so I decided to consign it with them. They send it back stating it was in poor condition. They got it just as they sold it to me. 2) I purchased a Ganni skirt labeled "excellent condition" when it arrived I hung it in my closet, but when it came time to wear (30 days later) I noticed oil stains in the front of the skirt. When I reached out to the asking for a refund the refused to provide refund for original payment only giving me a online credit i.e. I got stuck paying the original $15 shipping and would have to pay y we another $15 shipping fee for when I use the credit they gave. And I was as also asked to return the item. Like why punish your customer for your false marketing. I HAVE LOST MY TRUST IN THIS COMPANY. read more

I purchased a dress for my wife as we have been invited to visit the white house... my wife found this dress that kate middletown had and i ordered it... she is a size 0 or 2 and the dress was a size 2... a size 7 came when i called costumer service to speak about it i was hung up on 9x... their call center is out of india they have no idea what they are doing i dont think they can even transfer you to a manager they are useless so basically they told me that they will be happy to send me a return label to ship the dress back for free... oh wow of course its 5 sizes to big what do you think we were going to do with it use it as a table cloth? so it gets better the dress shows back up on the realreal for 100$ more money again in a size 2 so i ask for a $100 credit so i can get the dress in the correct size they refuse and i order my wife the dress for $100 more in a size 2 bc again we are going to the white house. this sat a package comes its the dress yeeeey! but in a shyamalan plot twist the dress comes in a size 4... I tried to call on sunday they are closed... i call on monday i speak with a paulie she confirms they are out of india i explain the whole situation and she finally agrees to send me to a manager which i sit on hold for 6 mins than she hangsup on me ... i call back and speak a man named steve again he confirms hes from india ... i explain the story to him about 4 items come that are wrong and now i have 2 dresses each time that i have purchased that are rsupposed to be a size 2 yet they are size 7 and size 4... i let him know i would like to speak to a manager and he refuses he tells me there are NO MANAGERS and offers me a $25 site credit ... i ask why i would want 25 dollars when i can just make a new email address and get $25 dollars ... these people are worthless and a waste of time... im calling my credit card company i am tired of trying with these scam artists. read more

People experiences based on what they got so maybe I visit the store for many times, and I don't care if anyone will greet me. I walk around freely and if security will stare at me a bit, it won't bother me. When I saw when I was interested in, I called the staff and he willingly to help me nicely. I tried on the bag, asked about more details, no push, no rush even go out of the tangent. Good thing about going to store, you get to see the real and can feel the item. THR169327 / THR169488/ THR169489 DO NOT CONSIGN WITH THEM I dropped off 3 bags with them but I didn't consign agreement but they said they'll do appraisal for the price. After 1 month of checking the item condition and the authenticity suddenly on 3/27/2025 they removed the item from the listing and said due to internal reasons they can't return my items and deemed it as fake. When I told the realreal's cs that they never asked for proof or purchase they went radio silent and weeks later I received email from the authenticity dept asking for proof of purchase and when I submitted it they still denied to return my items stating it as a fake. Then I asked who did the authentication and the process of it and they went radio silence. I had to get my lawyer involved and they still haven't responded back. I also had 6 other The reformation clothing and 1 Stuart Weitzman boots they didn't return. I contacted the RealReal yesterday only to find out that their Instagram account blocked me. I filed a complaint with them, only to receive automated responses and no actual resolution for over 6 months, only to be told that I must have packed it incorrectly or forgot to include it. All this despite the fact they confirmed its receipt by email. So they essentially stole my wallet, claimed it was my fault, denied any accountability, and did not compensate me in any way for it. This is a review for their online store. Negative star if I could. Never have I ever experienced such outrageous practice like this company. They took my consignments and recorded them on their En Route email. Then they claimed they couldn't locate one of the items after weeks and weeks of email exchanges and follow ups. They simply said NO compensation. Guess what - the next day, I found my shoes on their website listed at a price much lower than what was initially quoted. I had to negotiate with my boyfriend to get him to let me review this place, as very few people seem to know about it, and he wants to keep it that way! It's in the basement of The RealReal, and there aren't any signs on the outside or upstairs advertising the café. I shopped at TRR upstairs many times before discovering it because all the women's stuff is upstairs, and you have no reason to go downstairs unless you're shopping mens, consigning, or.... visiting the café! When we discovered the café, we were thrilled to see that they serve Sightglass Coffee because we used to live in San Francisco near the OG Sightglass and haven't had access to it since moving back to the East Coast. It can be tricky getting coffee here, because there isn't a bathroom. But there is a lovely outdoor patio/garden that actually stays quite warm in the winter because it's surrounded from the wind. My boyfriend says the coffee is excellent, and the citrus spice hot chocolate is amazing as well. For oat milk they use an Australian brand instead of Oatly because Oatly supports deforestation. Also the baristas are always friendly! It's hard to pick a favorite, but I'd say that Jason, who we've found there two Saturdays in a row, so safe to assume he works Saturdays afternoons?, is our favorite. He offers free boxed water to customers who are just passing the barista bar to consign items, and he even gifted my boyfriend a bag of coffee beans on our way out. Please no one find out about this place, although my review is really not conducive to that goal. read more

LOST 8 of my designer bags to trr, 3 missing, 5 of which they refuse to give back to me!! I contacted TRR to pick up 8 designer bags that I was interested in having priced and maybe consigned once I review the pricing. including Hermes, channel, celine, bv, ysl etc. Most of the bags are purchased in recent years, with dust bags and original boxes. The agent (came to my apartment 10/12/2024 in the morning to pick up the items we indicated). I was informed by her that the process would take 3 days and if I was not satisfied with the pricing I would be able to pick up the items from the Soho location. I received a receipt, which indicated the items were delivered successfully. Shortly afterwards, I noticed (with no updates from them) that of the items that were delivered, 3 of them failed to show up on my account with any status. After contacting the firm, they confirmed that they were never scanned in and lost my bags. They offered a ridiculous price for my missing bags. For example, 10 dollars on a brand new Hermes in the loop 18 etoupe bag. (The original price is about 5000 USD and their record show that this bag is brand new) The agent had not been responding to any of my concerns. Any attempts to get my property back have proven unfruitful, The total value of the lost items is in excess of $10,000. Furthermore, of the five items that were actually logged into their system, they wouldn't allow me to pick them up in the Soho store as previously discussed and insisted that it be shipped instead, a process that they claim takes 30 days of which they have not even initiated. On top of that, they determined through some process only beknown to them that ALL OF THE items were inauthentic, and claim that they are unable to return said item to us as a result, despite our agent telling us that we did not have to attach receipts because all of my bags are in perfect condition and they should have no problem to authentic them. let alone the fact I actually left receipt to the box of one of my Chanel bags per their notes, and they still claim it's fake? At this point, I have been fighting to be heard with only ridiculous news like my new hermes bag only worth 10 bucks? TOTAL SCAM!!! read more

Sold me a Fake Bags... I ordered a Saint Laurent handbag, the description said authentic with the bag. I received the bag in the Real REal bag, not a YSL bag. I thought it was strange so I asked the company for authenticity papers, especially after looking through the bag for the serial number tag and not finding it. The company never responded to my request. I sent a second request and again was ignored by the company. I filed a BBB complaint requesting a refund and offering to return the bag with the RR tags on it and the company informed the BBB that had provided me the documents I was requesting. They dared to keep repeating that lie to the BBB until they closed my complaint. Now I have to assume the Fendi bag I purchased is fake as well.
