You'll get ALLL the friendliness you need in an equivalent store in Japan: Maybe even too much, honestly. My partner was treated well consigning a fall jacket, and that's done partly electronically now, including making the appointment and receiving your estimate. The employees at Beacon's Closet may be more polite but they make you wait around for your estimate like a dog. Tokyo Joe's does not: They will send it to you afterwards. *There's also high turnover of merchandise in the tiny store: When you're not there there's a ton of activity behind the scenes.

At first glance, there doesn't seem to be a fitting room, but when I asked the sales associate, he said there was. Well....it turns out the fitting room is just a very small area in the middle of the store where they pull some curtains around you. I was kind of nervous because anyone could just walk into the curtains at any point and see me changing.
