2.5 This location is slightly better than the location on 8th and Broadway but it's still not a great place to sell things. They literally give you pennies on the dollar for your items. I had a bunch of older sneakers that I no longer wear and were too small-- so I opted to bring a bunch here. I only accepted the offer for two of them, which was probably less than the taxes I paid for them but I figured I'd get lunch with the money. They claim to give you 25% of the selling price but I know that's inaccurate. As I've seen they charge very high amounts for sneakers and clothing that weren't in the greatest of condition. Nonetheless, if you're looking to sell your items, they may accept them, but do not think that you're going to get much money for them. read more

I personally thought this store. was pretty cool. There are some high end items. We did have to check our bags at the door with security which was great for us because I didn't want to carry them around and shop with them to begin with LOL. So bonus! There is a few security guards around which was nice to see. We walked around and shopped. There were so many great items, vintage like and new to today's fashion. There are so many great sneakers. Pricing is high for some items, but I do understand the cost. Some of those are rare finds. It is pretty organized, but like any thrift store you need to take time and sift through the items. I first learned about 2nd Street thrift stores in Long Beach, CA. When I realized there were locations in NYC, I had to check it out. Upon entering, I had to check my big bag in. I was given a bracelet number to retrieve my bag when I left. This was to avoid theft. When I visited it seemed like someone was trying to steal some pants in the fitting room because an alarm went off. One thing to know about 2nd Street is they offer second hand designer goods which means things can be pricey here. Do know that even the not as big brand name clothes can be pricier too. I ended up getting two different outfits priced $19 each. There were a lot of different racks here so you could spend over an hour here hunting if you wanted. A lot of the stuff I found was designer or street wear. There were a lot of people shopping here when I visited. If you're hunting for designer second hand, this is a great place for that. Ran into the exact same issue as Gabriel and Bianca!! Went up to the counter to purchase a jacket but when the employee scanned the tag she said the system could not locate the item and it was mislabeled. She said she would try to find the real tag and then after standing in the store for 10 minutes she said we just can't sell the item to me. Both a waste of time and a waste of an employee. Honor the tag, least you can do. Whoever trains these people who work here obviously doesn't know the first thing about customer service. I will make sure to spread this story to all my friends who love thrifting and hopefully this place will go out of business one day! read more

Solid second hand story with top brands and solid prices. Much better than the other location in los angeles and the staff he has some serious vibe checks going. great clothes, prices, people watching and location. even walk out spending some good money. I just visit when in Dumbo. read more

SECURITY IS RACIST. Our group of three Black woman walked into go inside and were met with a condescending attitude. When asking to clarify if one of us could keep their small bag on (because I guess large bags are checked), the security met us with a snarky attitude - "did I ask you to remove your bag?" As If we were dumb -- instead of politely clarifying the policy. We left immediately as we will not be treated like stupid individuals. A couple weeks ago, we went and found a Canada goose jacket within the store selling for around $100. After bringing it to the counter, we were told it had the wrong tag, which was evidently unprofessional. On top of this, the cashiers were rude and refused to give us any sort of compensation or discount on another item, after we found a wrong tag that could have cost them around $400 in loss. They do not value customers and don't respect integrity and honesty. After helping them not lose money, they reply rudely and make it as if it was my fault that their jacket had the wrong tag. I shop at 2nd streets whenever I am near one and this location is by far my favorite! The selection is top notch, prices are often pretty reasonable but most importantly the staff is FANTASTIC. I was helped today by both Michelle & Nico and they were so helpful and fun to work with that I feel like I just made a new best friend. Will be coming back to this location specifically every time I'm in the city. read more

Found a rare item priced at incredible discount value, after having talked to a employee who applauded my amazing find, I quickly ran over to the desk counter excited to purchase the item. To my surprise, the item was mislabeled and rather than waging a deal or offering any sort of discount, they refused me. I don't typically shop at 2nd street because I find the staff to be rude. I walked in looking for a new year's outfit and no employees even acknowledged me. As I was about to leave an employee named Patty walked up and complemented my shoes and asked if I was looking anything in particular? He showed me so many things and told me all about the selling process. I ended leaving with a big haul of new pants and a jacket. Taher was helpful when checking me out. If I could give zero stars I would!! I went to this store to sell some items, they told me I had to leave the items and they will call me when they decide if they will take my items or not. (which I was told a hr wait) hours pass and they never called me so I called and they finally told me they wasent gonna take any of my items and that I could come pick them up. (mind you the store was closing soon so I wasn't gonna make it back in time that day ) so when I finally go pick up the Items I was told my 6 pairs of sneakers was donated.( after a day ur items are donated which some lady manager told me) I was so confused because it don't say this no where on the website nor did anyone inform me of this information, nor was I given a paper or anything with these details. I just feel it was a scam and I won't be surprise if I go there and my sneakers are being sold there!!! some people actually donate because they need extra cash. this situation was very inconvenient for me and the store manager said he can't do anything for me. never selling here again!! read more
