Absolutely Horrifying Treatment of a Disabled Customer…read more I have never experienced treatment this disturbing from a business. I went to Press Play Bar and after ordering our drinks we were walked up on by one of the bouncers saying they needed to remove the stools because the capacity starts to increase more, I explained that I have a disability that makes it difficult for me to stand for extended periods and that I needed a barstool in order for my safety and that I was only going to stay for the drink I had ordered considering I wouldn't be able to physically continue through the night without being able to sit down. Instead of accommodating my disability or even attempting to understand the situation, the person identifying himself as the "GM" ripped the barstool out from underneath me. What happened next was completely unacceptable. They grabbed my partner out of her seat without allowing us to close our tab (seems to me that they might be doing that to be stealing 20% gratuity) I was shoved by a bouncer and then the GM grabbed me by my hair and forcibly pulled me toward and up the stairs, during which my head was struck against the stairs. This happened after I had explicitly explained that I could not safely stand without the stool because of my disability. What made the situation even more intimidating was that, while I was being removed, I was confronted with gestures that appeared to me to be gang signs. Whether or not that was the intended meaning, I experienced the behavior as threatening and intimidating, especially given that I had already been physically handled and was being forced out of the establishment. I was not asking for special treatment. I was asking for a basic accommodation because I physically could not remain standing safely. To be treated this way after disclosing a disability is absolutely horrifying. Removing a stool from underneath someone who has explicitly explained that they cannot safely stand, followed by physically shoving, grabbing, and forcibly removing that person, is completely unacceptable. I strongly encourage ownership and management to take this incident seriously, preserve and review all available surveillance footage, identify the employees involved, and investigate exactly what happened. I will never return to Press Play Bar, and based on what I experienced, I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone--particularly anyone with a disability who expects to be treated with BASIC dignity, safety, and respect.

Classes are cheap ($10 for a drop in class or $35 for a 4-part series) and they start frequently (a new session every month) so I took my chance and jumped in on the next beginner-level class that came up. This was Lindy Hop 1, which meets on Monday nights. Tonight was my first lesson, and I cannot wait to go back next week. I have never danced a real dance before in my life, but John and Shana did a great job explaining everything clearly enough that it always felt natural to move on to the next step. The atmosphere was really relaxed and everyone seemed to have a genuinely good time. It is certainly okay to attend these classes on your own. My friend and I went without partners and a couple of guys stuck around from an earlier class to even things out. Not a big deal at all. I was concerned about not having the comfort of a familiar partner, but that soon was relieved as the class is structured so that every follow dances with every lead at least once. And since it's a "rotate clockwise" arrangement, there's no need to worry that nobody will choose you to dance. You just get the next person in the circle, and then the next. This setup not only eases the awkwardness of choosing a partner, it gives you the opportunity to dance with several people, and all of them will have a slightly different style. You don't learn to dance with your date, you learn to dance with anybody. The studio was a bit hot and everyone got really sweaty but, since everybody was sweaty, it was okay. I highly recommend wearing something comfortable that will allow you to breathe. After just the first session in this series, I feel like I progressed from hopeless to kind of okay at this particular dance, which is way more than I had anticipated. Trying new things is awesome!

REC ROOM EMPLOYEES ARE PIGS AND THIEVES They sexually harassed my friend. While she was in line to get in they asked her questions like hey do you want to go on a date with me, hey wanna fuck? And when she brought it up with one of the female bartenders, she said she was banned for life. They double charged the people next to me and refused to give them a refund even though they had a receipt. It asked 3 bartenders for an IPA (which they don't have). The first one looked at me and shook his head and didn't take my order, the second was and asshole too, and the third one, yup also an asshole. The Rec Room Is the worst establishment I've ever been to in my entire life. This place needs to be shit down and the bartenders should have lawsuits against them for theft and sexual harassment. This is without a doubt THE WORST BAR IN FORT COLLINS. Please go anywhere else. These people are pigs and criminals. read more

PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! Rec Room has a history of discriminatory practices that date back 10 years. My partner and I experienced this first hand with a staff member last night, George, who pushed through our group and began berating and yelling at my boyfriend, the only Black man in our group. He continued to escalate the situation and threatened to kick us out. Out of fear he was going to get violent, we left immediately. He was not only unprofessional but racist, hateful and angry (apparently all qualities that are encouraged if you work at this establishment). NEVER and we mean NEVER wear flip-flops or unsecured sandals to this bar. The floor is so sticky that you will likely lose one, if not both, of your shoes. But what could possibly be more dense than the grime that coats the floors? The bouncers. These are a group on menacing hogs that have not gotten laid in centuries and make it their goal to kick out as many people as possible. If you cough incorrectly or take more than 5 minutes in the bathroom they will, with a smile, tell you to leave. DO NOT GO HERE. This is the NASTIEST place I've ever been to. The employees are plane out disrespectful and grope woman. The bouncers target woman in the bar, instead of asking you to leave politely they will grab you wherever they want and there is nothing you can do about it. The bouncer that works on Thursday nights in the front with the beard is the most DISGUSTING/REPULSIVE man I've ever met, and needs to get punched square in the balls for a month straight. Usually a great place to go in Fort Collins, but when one of my best friends got turned down for entrance due to his hand tattoo (which is completely decrotive, and not in any way "gang" affiliated). I completely lost all respect for this establishment. Whoever owns this place should seriously consider restructuring their management. No telling how many thousands of dollars are lost weekly due to this ridiculous policy. No one else in town, besides for The Yeti (which is their sister bar) maintains such outlandish stipulations for entrance into their establishments. read more

I want to rate this place 0 stars I have been kicked out multiple times for having "slumped eyes" so if you are the type of person to tend to feel tired more than often you are not allowed to drink basically. Its very unfortunate that as the owner of Sanders Ink Studio I was not allowed in due their "policy" on hand and neck tattoos. Visiting the bar was an enjoyable experience, featuring an incredible DJ who skillfully mixed captivating Hollywood tunes and even indulged our request for some Bollywood tracks. The cranberry vodka was a delightful choice. Although the dance floor was somewhat limited in size, the bar area and seating arrangements were satisfactory. Place is as racist and sketch as they come. Hang out with some of the bouncers out side of bar hours and they are instructed by the two head managers not to let in "too many" colored people. Front guy of Rec has called me the "N" multiple times. Let's minors knowingly drink underage. Workers selling drugs out of the bar. This place profiles people and I find it unethical and pretentious. It's not even that nice of an establishment and they enforce strict "dress code." If you're looking for a place that discriminates on people of color or people with tattoos, you've chosen the right place. A bouncer then grabbed me and told me I had to leave. I said, "Oh I'm sorry! I didn't realize I followed them in, we were just talking abo-", when he cut me off and said I still had to leave. I asked him why? He said I was "making people nervous". To which I asked him who or if anyone had complained? He said no but that I might make people uncomfortable. I know homophobia when I see it. He was waiting for a reason and my dumb mistake of walking into the "Women's" was his gateway. I told him I would leave but that I still needed to use the restroom. His only kindness was allowing me to use the toilet before kicking me out. I will NEVER RETURN & I will be telling everyone I know and meet and see at the grocery store to never attend as well.

The staff are all very kind, especially if you're kind to them (I'm a regular though so they love me). They take vertical IDs, however they don't take the Colorado app which has been an issue for some friends of mine. I love the option of having quarter tables as well as the larger tables for $5 per person per hour option. Plus, if you don't use the larger tables for the full hour they won't charge ya for it! Love that they have drink specials every day (very helpful as a college student) but also just some decently priced drinks overall. The food is also pretty tasty, but I've only eaten here twice. The only reason for 4 stars instead of $5 is because of the cash only option after 6 pm and if you're going to use your card before then, it's a $40 minimum!! They do have an ATM on site but still, it's a bit absurd to have that high of a minimum. Additionally, not taking the Colorado app is not something I've heard of at any other place.

They need to hire a new sound person.
