We just wanted to get a drink and see some live music and that is exactly what happened. The band was The Last train to Juarez, who were country metal from Phoenix. The beers were cold, but the smallish crowd didn't have that Cowboy feel. It was older crowd with backwards baseball hats guys tossed in also. The cover was $10 plus tax, but it was Saturday night. It was a good 45 minutes to experience the Wyoming honky tonk experience. read more

Not a lot of options for liquor. Service was terrible. Judged the minute we walked in the door despite there being all of 10 people in the whole bar. The male bartender would walk by us multiple times and not ask us if we'd like a refill. It became so awkward that the other bartender was serving the other patrons but ours stood arms crossed and unfriendly not speaking... at all. The place could be fun but yeah, not for us. read more

Walked in wearing an American Legion patch on my back. Was told at the door that it was fine. They took my $30 cover (by the way didn't tell me they were charging me $31.20 because I used a debit card). We Went to get a drink at the upstairs bar. Didn't have anything I wanted so asked for a water. She slammed it down so hard I thought the bottle would break. Then out of nowhere the so called bouncer put his hand on me as I turned around. The same guy who cleared me at the door. He told me I would have to leave because of my Veteran patch. Said it was "colors". Why yes it is. The colors of our country and that have given him the freedom to work in a place like that. I went back to the door and before I could even ask, the older gentleman (who I found out later was a Vet himself) handed me $30 and we left. I'll never set foot in here again. I am appalled that an establishment refuses to allow patriots and Veterans to support the freedoms in this country and to support our fallen and wounded heroes. I was even with my two brothers, one of whom is a 100% disabled American Army Veteran. They left with me. If you are a vet, know a vet, have lost a loved one to war PLEASE DO NOT give this place your money or waste your time here. Too bad too because it's a pretty nice place inside. The steel river band was awesome but they have this shit hole and the crappy ass music they play during intermission sucks.

I've been a few times. I love to dance and they have a nice, large dance floor. My frustrations are 1) the Wednesday dance lesson may or may not take place based on the number of people there to take the lesson so I drive to get there and may or may not get the advertised lesson and 2) they don't publish who the bands are that play Wednesday - Saturday. Some bands I'd come for and others not ... but they don't update their website. It's a kids bar and not geared toward older folks and/or dancers ... which I get because dancers aren't drinkers and kids are ... and kids often don't care who the band is as long as they are loud. read more

Bout as close as your getting to a Honky Tonk in Cheyenne. Not a bad place at all when there is live music! The intermission music could use some work though. Usually not a whole lotta people here so I would recommend the owners work on getting more people here! It would be 5 stars if you could pack this place with more people. read more

Loved the Kenny Chesney impersonator and that the place is so big. However, the service was horrible. A couple of the female bartenders were extremely rude. My friend was waiting to close out her tab at one of the bars that literally had four people at it. Three people came after her and were helped first. Then after my friend hunted the bartender down, she was told there was a minimum amount that had to be charged to her card that she hadn't met ... no one told her that when she opened the tab. Another woman treated us like we were an inconvenience to her. It was really smoky inside and the outside bar had no mixers except for Coke products. A part of the parking lot we tried to park in was unsigned but we were told we couldn't park there because it was VIP parking but as we started to drive away, the guy said, "if you give me $10 you can park here". My friend owns a bar and I've worked at one so we know it can be tough but because of our experience, we know they could do so much better with the basic things. read more

Road trips are a lot about seeing the local sites....meeting the local folks.....Outlaw Saloon is the place.....in Cheyenne, Wyoming to do just that thing. I've spent over 10 years visiting Jackson, Wyoming to do annual fly fishing trips...but never been on this side of the state. This large bar/club/dance hall/game hall houses 2 large bars, 1 stage, an large seating area and as the first reviewer indicated....a waterfall under the stairs. As for bathrooms, the men's room as more urinals per square foot than any place I've ever seen!!!! There must be 15 occupying every space on the wall....for a moment I wasn't sure if I was peeing in a saloon in Wyoming or in an Airport bathroom?!?!?! Two stepping was alive and well as the band playing belted out old country classics. In addition, when the band was not playing, music pumped out over many speakers and there was a mix of modern pop music and some old classics....though "Baby's got back" by Sir Mix Alot wasn't something I thought I would here in this place!!! Drinking is VERY cheap....2 shot of tequila and 2 beers (fat tire at that!!!) were $10....god I love the west Well lit, friendly bar staff, ample room to roam around and some of the best people watching this side of the mississippi, Outlaw Saloon is a must see for anyone from Chicago making a roadtrip through this town. read more

My experience could be tainted by the fact that Garth Brooks was playing a few miles to the North for a rodeo weekend, but I'll still go on record saying that the name makes it sound tougher than it is. I got the sense that there was an effort to make it more "Cowboy" than "cowboy," if you catch my drift. I'm not saying all hat no cattle, per se--more a snake eating its tail kind of thing. Which is to say that the Saloon's saving grace is that the clientele tended to be far more genuine than the decor, collectively drawn together by the two greatest social lubricants known to humankind: honky-tonk and cheap budweiser. Danger still abounds, mind you, so careful heading North toward the rodeo. The white-tailed antelope to human ratio is about 16:1, and they've still not evolved to concern themselves with the sparse concrete slicing the open Prairie. And the folks here still have too much time on their hands, Cops and cowboys alike, so drive slowly and watch out for Silverados swerving off into the sunrise. read more

Great venue, but drinks are EXTREMELY watered down! $5 cover for a whiskey coke with a splash of whiskey. The place was dead, with an okay country band. This place would be perfect if drinks were better! You come to a bar to get drunk...not to just drink beer because that's the highest alcohol per volume. read more

A good place for cowboy music. Very large venue. Plenty of drunks. Be aware that since it is outside the city limits of Cheyenne, there is smoking allowed and pretty much everyone is smoking. There is a nonsmoking section (mostly empty) but no real separation between the areas. The police will be waiting for you once you pull out of the parking lot so be sure and have a designated driver. read more

I lived here for a while. It's got live music every night, a big dance floor, numerous pool tables, slot machines, black jack and more.

This place is an excellent, large venue and they have everything you might want in a bar. Nice bathrooms, dance floor, food, multiple bars, darts, pool tables, gambling and plenty of seating. BUT, I suggest bringing your own flask if you're planning to get drunk. The drinks here are SO WEAK, they barely put any liquor in at all! And domestics beers are $4.25!!!! I'm sorry but if I want to drink a PBR or a Coors, I can just stay at home and get a 6pack for about that price. Seriously, who charges $4.25 for a PBR? No wonder this place was dead on a Friday night! Plus we had to pay a coverage charge to get in! It's sad, this place has so much potential and is so cool inside but if I have to spend a fortune to go there, I'll take my business to the Crown where I know I'll actually get a buzz. read more

I have been here a couple times but last night was horrible. Nearly every song the band played was a swing dance. Even 2 step songs were played at swing speed. Dancers who only knew 2 steps were stumbling to keep up and as night wore on the dance floor was generally empty except for a couple swing dancers each song. Friday night in a dance hall with a lousy band and the bouncers were running from one bar fight to another to another to another. read more

Just to clarify, the Outlaw Saloon Country Bar/Dancehall is located on Greeley Hwy not on Lincolnway. However the reviews for that place seem to refer to the Bar/Dancehall too. Came through Cheyenne over Labor Day and the folks at Wrangler's said this was the best bar in town. The place never got packed, but showing up at 9 was probably a little early. The house band is good and the DJ does his thing in between sets. Dance floor is big, but only a few couples doing two-step or cha cha. Not a good venue for social dancing. The only line dances all evening were cupid shuffle and cotton-eyed joe. Maybe the regular dancers were out of town, but this bar lends itself to drinking, not dancing. read more

I like the fact that you can smoke, and Deb at the upper bar is AWESOME!! She is friendly and always has something nice to say when you order a drink from her.
