We were greeted by Sierra (bartender) who was all smiles and super friendly. The vodka selection is very dive bar (IYKYK) but drinkable. They have a real decent selection of canned seltzers. Great bar, been going for years, but recently the staff has declined significantly. Rowdy Memorial Day weekend, normal stuff, group of us went to watch a game...bartender told us we were "too loudly cheering." By the way, the group next to us was kicked out for being over served and trying to fight other people, so to think "cheering to loud" is an issue, is pretty dumb. read more

Conveniently located by the dock where we did a sunset cruise, so we went to get some dinner after (~8 o'clock on a Monday). Good selection of drafts, and the bar drinks were spot on. We were told the food menu was limited because it was a Monday and they tend to get wiped out over the weekend. So the late night menu was available and we ordered a pepperoni pizza and chicken fingers with fries (you order at the bar and they bring it to your table). The pizza and the fries were decent, and the chicken fingers were delicious! Good music in the background, but at a level allowing conversation. This is the perfect dive bar located in a perfect spot in Destin. This is a locals favorite and has a strong local scene. When you come here you keep running into the same people over and over and it gives you a sense of community. Drinks are reasonably priced and food is pretty good. Service is fast as it can't fit a whole lot of people. Only down side is you can smoke inside even when the windows are closed which kind of sticks to your clothes. We saw this place first time last year when visiting Boathouse Oyster Bar, we never went in last year but, decided to check this place out. It's one of those places that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. We were definitely surprised by this place. It's actually quite laid back. Bartender was friendly. We both got the Red Door punch their signature drink. I compare it to an adult kool aid. It was very good. Not the best first impression when we walked up for dinner before 7pm...security? Asked for IDs of all persons even those not drinking and stated "if I catch anyone not IDd drinking I will kick u out!". Pretty harsh and uncalled for. My friend who is a local recommended this place but we were all disappointed and disgusted at how the bouncers treated my friend. We are all 21+ and somehow our only friend of color was not allowed in because she didn't "look like the picture" on her ID after providing 3 more different forms of identification. We tried to ask why but they told us to "shut the fuck up and leave". I cannot speak on my friend's behalf, but from my view it seemed like the bouncers where racially profiling her since she was the only one not let in being a person of color. I went here the other evening - it is a typical dive bar. I enjoyed the environment! It is plastered with signs, and they are fun to look at. We had a nice breeze, and there were fans blowing around the bar. I was comfortable despite the insane heat of Destin. The drink menu was appealing, but I found the execution was average. My boyfriend did not finish his margarita, nor did I finish my drink (this is unlike both of us). However, the food was incredible! I got the chicken sandwich, and it is the best one I've had in a long time! It was fresh and crisp. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp, and he said it was good. We had excellent service the entire time! A local strongly advised that I come here for their Bushwacker. After lunch with my wife's family and my slew of nephews and nieces, my 11 year old son and I needed a reprieve. We walked the harbor, and eventually wandered into The Red Door Saloon. Kids are allowed to sit at the bar, which is one reason why Florida is "America's state." (That DeSantis guy helps too) My son gets a Diet Coke, and Dad orders the Bushwacker. I see that it's poured out of a frozen drink machine, so immediately I ask for a floater. The bartender with a very perplexed look [laughs] and says "ok, cool." She then asks my son if he's driving. A man admits mistakes, and this was a huge foul. The Red Door doesn't fuck around on their drinks. Hence, no floater on the second drink. It's labeled as a "dive bar," but not really. A penicillin shot isn't necessary upon departure. It's actually a very clean establishment, with damn good service, and friendly bartenders. That local, albeit stoned out of his noggin, was spot on. In fact, I feel like I won the drink lottery. Other reviews say similar assaults have happened here by their staff. The locals were not surprised and reacted as if this is a common occurrence.
