Tried Harbor Tavern on Saturday and it's officially a local hidden gem. We actually heard about it from our captain on a Tiki Cruise--great recommendation. The space has a cool indoor/outdoor setup, and the night we went they had live music, which made the whole place feel really lively. We sat inside but could still enjoy the music while catching some basketball games. The menu leans Mediterranean and everything looked incredible. We started with the tzatziki, shrimp wonton rolls, and potstickers. All three were great, but the shrimp wonton rolls were my favorite. For my main, I ordered the grilled shrimp pita (loaded with shrimp) with fries--definitely hit the spot. Around the table we also had burgers, a Mediterranean bowl, and pork belly tacos, and everyone loved their meals. We were so full we didn't even make it to dessert. Overall, great vibe, great food, and a fun atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out--just plan on taking an Uber or Lyft since parking is limited. read more

Nice location, mediocre food. Service was friendly, but slow and there weren't many people eating when we were. Fries were delicious, but were probably the star of the show. All tasted good, but nothing blew us away. They do validate for parking which is nice. And a good location for the boardwalk and shops. read more

I wish I would have taken a picture of the chicken sandwich with fries. It was massive and so good! My husband and I could have easily split the meal. He got the pita which was also a large portion size. Customer service was great and would absolutely eat here again! read more

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! If I could give negative stars, I would. SERVICE was horrendous. Servers walking around like space cadets, group after group left because they couldn't get waited on. Ask for something because they forgot to bring it...? Good luck getting it or a server back to your table! We had to go source our own condiments amd napkins. We stopped in here after reading positive reviews, we have been to Destin lots of times, but somehow I've never eaten here. Miraculously, there was no wait and we were able to be seated immediately and even pick where we wanted to sit. They had live music and the service was very fast and friendly. All of our food was delicious, even my picky eater was able to eat something off the menu here. I would definitely stop in here again and forget about the crazy two hour wait restaurants. read more

Found this place while we were looking for somewhere to eat while out at Harbor walk. Cute little restaurant with outside seating . We had 6 adults and 5 kids. I ordered the cheeseburger with fries, the falafel bowl, the southern burger, Caesar salad, kids chicken and rice, pork belly bowl. Everything was delicious. Our waiter was awesome totally forgot his name. Tall guy with curly dark hair. He was great. I would definitely recommend trying this place. It's literally at the end of the Harbor walk. read more

We chose the Harbor Tavern due to the high ratings on yelp! The tavern is located down by the water and overlooks the boats at the dock; it was a bit tricky to find it however we managed to find it after driving around a bit. It has an open outdoor concept which allows for breathing in the ocean air -- very nice! The Harbor Tavern gets a 5 star rating from the food alone; we enjoyed the popcorn shrimp as an appetizer, the shrimp tacos, a cheeseburger and the shrimp wontons over the seaweed salad. We also sipped on a blueberry lemonade, sans alcohol, and it was delicious. The service was a little scattered and slow and the place was rather uncleanly -- however, it could have been the time we went also. For those two aspects, I would rate it a 3-4/5 star. read more

Great spot on the harbor! If you're looking for something more lowkey for dinner, away from craziness, and a local joint: stop here! It is an open-air restaurant that looks out towards the boats docked on the harbor. Their menu is FULL of good options. I had a hard time deciding. What a neat and fun place! We came here after getting in late for a business trip and were pleasantly surprised. It was a little hard to find at first but I'm glad we stuck it out. This place would be so fun on a sunny day! The staff were very attentive and friendly. Some of the best service I've had in a while. Jessica was awesome. I got the smoked tuna dip for appetizer. This ahi tuna sandwich hit most of the right notes. The tuna was nicely seared and flavorful, and the pickled onions and creamy sauce added a good contrast. The bun was fresh and held together well, though the whole thing could've used a bit more brightness or heat to really pop. The pasta salad was actually pretty tasty--lots of feta, herbs, and sharp cheese made it feel more thoughtful than your average side. That said, it was oddly served on top of a bed of loose raw greens, which didn't really add anything. A bit confusing, but not a dealbreaker. read more

Not busy time of day. 100% open air seating and It's a run down shack of a place with food to match, the price however does not match. The food was average (chicken, mahi and a hamburger) $20 for a basic chicken Caesar salad and then had to pay extra to get dressing bc what was provided was non existent. I agree with what a lot of people have to say -- this is a gem hidden among a lot of the louder spots at harbor village! They have a good mix of pub eats + healthy eats. I decided to go with the falafel bowl this time but def want to come back for the blacked shrimp tacos. The bowl was delicious and had the perfect balance between the cucumber and tomato salad, sticky rice, crispy homemade falafel, tzatziki, and pickled red onions! My husband had the burger and it was juicyyyy. Kind of disappointing the burger came with a bag of potato chips and that they serve all the drinks in plastic cups. Food was pretty good, basic menu. Looks like a food truck kitchen added onto the bar area. More outside seating than inside: right on the harbor walk by the fishing charter boats. Had cheese Kurds and a fish gyro with chips. Fries ass $4, chips were. Very small bag. Service was not great. Was not very busy. Took at least 10 minutes to get a menu. A long wait to order. Our cheese curds arrived, went up to bar to check on beverage order, waited ... food arrived , no beverages. Finally got them, no check back, oh well, food was ok, and nice to get some air and sun. Then the slap in the face... add a surcharge for a credit card, but WAIT, added an automatic 18-% gratuity for a party of 2. In my opinion you tip foe service and this placed lacked that. read more

Went on a Sunday night around 8:30/9pm, it was perfect because nobody was there. Service was great, the vibe of the restaurant was great, and the food and drinks were amazing. Everything was fresh, especially my fries and burger. The fries came to us directly from the fryer, they were so hot. My cheeseburger was immaculate, I want to say it was probably one of the best I've ever had. The meat was juicy and the melted cheese on the patty made it perfect. They have amazing food, it's always consistent, and the staff is always all over it. Was hoping for good experience due to high reviews, but visit was disappointing. Service was very slow and they were not busy. Took almost an hour for a lemonade. Ordered with no ice and they put extra ice in it. Gyros were small and cold and almost no meat in it, just lettuce and dressing that only slightly resembled tzatziki sauce. This place was hard to find from the street at night. There is a huge sign at the main road but then you have to drive down towards the water and follow the road right and then to the end. There wasn't much else open here so when we saw were the colorful chilli lights and we kinda knew where to go. It's mostly open air type of place. There is indoor seating but it's very open and on a good weather day I can see the large outdoor patio area filled with people having a good ol' time. The food here was solid. They have a good variety and our large group was generally happy with their meals. The cheese curds were a huge hit across the table and I would highly recommend those. Saturday night, hoppin'! Fantastic band....BouKou Groove! Bartender, couldn't have been less attentive, but wasn't going to let him ruin my time! Finally got a drink, chatted with folks at the bar, bopped to the music til it was done.....such a great band - that made the place. (People leave when the music stops - my pic was taken then...it was packed just beforehand) I didn't go inside, but liked the open deck outside the bar which had garage door-like doors to close the place up.
