This was our first visit and excited to come back! The building is attached to Kings BBQ for delicious before show bites. We went for their "Golden Hour" and loved every moment. Glad we got there early because the parking lot does fill up quickly. There is additional parking around the venue, if it's full when you arrive. The entrance leads directly into a large bar area, with seating along the whole counter. Basically this area is half of the building so is surprisingly large. They offer craft cocktails, local beers, and wine by the glass. The second half of the building is the stage and seating. Personal space is a premium here as every spot is used for the audience. We saw 3 two seaters tables along the back wall as welk as a few tables in the front row directly at the edge of the stage. Both areas are considered "upgraded" seating/tickets. Use that info when buying tickets. The rest of the seats (at least for our show) are open seating. My suggestion is not to wait too long to find seating once the doors open. Not that there is a bad seat, but I do like to have choices. We had two openers and the main headliner for our show. Everything ran smoothly, with good volume and pacing. They then had a merch area set up after the show, back in the lounge/bar area. This got a little extra cosy but everyone was respectful. We would 100% come back for another show!

The hall is warm and inviting, decorated in a very "Halls" like way of dark wood. The catering is provided by Halls and my understanding was there is quite a selection depending upon the budget. I came here for a Medical University of South Carolina Christmas party and it was wonderful and festive. There were three stations. The first was the beef sirloin carvery, with salads, bread rolls, accompanying sauces and a chef carving and serving the beef. The second station was a shrimp and grits table with cornbread muffins. The last table had two different kinds of flatbread. One with chicken and the other with a Neapolitan vegetable flatbread. Although the number of choices was limited - well, relatively for a party, having fewer choices but great ones is far more appealing. All the food was mouth-watering. The portions were small at the carving station, however you could ask for more or go back as many times as you wish. The other stations were self serve. There were two separate bar setups and it was a full bar menu. The wonderful staff even made me an alcohol free "fruity" which was delicious! The seating was a mixture of round tables and farmhouse style long tables, which gives the place a great non-uniform look. There is a second floor with smaller round tables and sofas to make it a more intimate setting. Quite a few chose to bring their desserts here. The desserts consisted of trays of miniature sweet treats; brownies and iced cookies, mini lemon pies and more. I'd definite say that this place is a win! The space is so nice and big and open. When I walked in, I was greeted warmly, and had a lovely chit chat with the bouncer. She checked my ID, I got my wrist band, and went right in. I stopped at the bar to of course grab a drink before the show. I didn't know what to order as all the drinks looked delicious so the bartender (whom was very nice as well) suggested the Pink 75. It was amazing and definitely packed a punch! I sipped on it for awhile, and made the wise decision to not get a second drink as I was tired from the drive down. The bands I saw there were - Archers, The Rasmus, and The Funeral Portrait. The venue was a great place to listen to some rock music. The sound was amazing, I was able to see where I was standing, and the show started on time. All SUPER important points! The down time between bands was also quick. I had such a great time at the show and really enjoyed the vibe of The Rickhouse at Cannon Distillery.

This is the closest festival you can attend to feel what it was like at ACL in the very early years. Bands selected were from indie-folk to indie-rock radio (Mt Joy, Flipturn, Amos Lee) & all the way to a couple of "old-people" bands w Counting Crows and Trampled by Turtles. No hip-hop. No DJ sets. Just solid alt-pop/rock, alt-folk, R&B (hey there m, The War and Treaty). This festival is produced by the company that does ACL and Lollapalooza, so they know how to organize a big show. I'm begging the production company to keep this festival as pure down the alt-folky, Americana, "classic alternative" lane as possible going forward. I will def come back whenever the lineup is as solid as 2025. All the festival staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Part of that is probably just the overwhelming hospitality vibe you experience anywhere in Charleston, but the High Water Festival seemed to put especially competent people in key public interaction positions. I've been to more than 20 festivals, but High Water was the best from organization, personal service and facility standpoints.

The High Water Festival is comprised of 2 stages with vendors, food + tents, free parking surrounding the area - depending on where you park it could be at most a mile. Your wristband once activated is your form of entrance which you scan after security. The event itself flowed nicely - I was surprised when the bands played right on time so kudos to the sound teams and engineering to make each set flow effortlessly. I've been to shows where there's a delay by a hour or so but these sets were punctual. Some random tips: bring sun protection because there's very little shade unless you find a spot by the water or more towards the outskirts of the field. The memorial area near the entrance is a nice quiet area for introverts that need to recharge from the energy of the crowds or folks that experience sensory overload. The most helpful tip would also be to bring your own empty water bottle. I loved how I could fill up at the several water refill stations to stay hydrated! If you can, eat beforehand unless you don't mind lengthy lines. I like how they tried to prevent that by spacing out maybe 3 of such tents throughout the field area and having the option to use your wristband as payment when you register a credit card with your band. I tried a King of Pop popsicle which was a nice treat to cool down with along the water. There are porta potty's as restrooms but these had no toilet paper or hand sanitizer so bring some of your own if you feel inclined. Overall it was a pleasant festival with scenic views along the water and a nice way to spend the weekend. I wouldn't have gone if it weren't for my friend! Hoping more performers down the line will grace Charleston with their presence.

On one of our visits we made it just before 7pm - which is the cutoff time to buy bottles of alcohol. He would have been so upset if he didn't get a bottle. The space is beautiful. Nice and big with a bar, a ton of high top tables and shared tables. They also have outdoor seating. The bartenders are extremely nice and share their drink expertise with you. There are always fun drinks to try. I always get a different drink when I am there. Doesn't matter the type of alcohol to me because all of the drinks are perfect. We are big fans of the Purple Rain and Blueberry Mojito. We also appreciate the shared games they have. It keeps our kiddos entertained while we enjoy an expertly crafted drink.

I wanted to pay cash bc I needed my card to uber back to roper dt. instead I walked from park circle, to bexley/south Rhett in 30 or below temps while it rained. what happend to locals and true hospitality with understanding? especially when u have become a regular and paid more than u are expected. whats with the 10 dollar surcharge that isn't taken off when u close out? im curious....
