I was embarrassed to be ref'd for Cognitive Rehab at the time. But, Jim Davis treated me so kindly and skillfully with a series of weekly sessions in which I improved tremendously. Unfortunately, my car was hit again while I was turning left on a green light in Feb of 2021. Although the neurology office I have been seeing again recommended Cognitive Rehab, once again for my re-activated concussion, it has been made much too difficult and stressful to work with that particular neurology office. Since I don't know where else to go and transfer my case,, it seems that I will not be able to get any of the tremendous help that Jim provided me with the last time. I dearly need it and only wish I could because it was invaluable to my recovery. In the meantime, to anyone else referred for Cognitive Rehab, I'd like to say, don't be embarassed like I was at first. There's nothing to be ashamed of. Jim Davis is a super- specialist at what he does, is compassionate and highly skilled, His accessment and treatment will help you tremendously. And, the homework treatment is actually fun after awhile!

I had tried PT several times in the past, and never got any help from the one-size-fits-all, one part at a time approach. I was reluctant to try this place for that reason, but I am sure glad I did. Jim and his staff's approach is completely different. They look at your functioning as a whole, and work towards retraining your body to work with your mind. The staff is amazing-- kind, considerate and knowledgeable. They really care about their patients health and recovery, and treat everyone with respect and compassion. We are really lucky to have this place in Temecula.

My 5-year-old son's tolerance to new foods and textures developed significantly during the past 7 months he's worked with her in "food school." I had wanted to work with someone familiar with the SOS method taught by the STAR Institute for Sensory Processing Disorder in Colorado, and Amanda was one of the few in the Bay Area with this training. She brings to the table many other OT/feeding treatment methods too, and she continually educates herself on the latest. We have worked with several feeding therapists, and Amanda is one of the best out there. She has a natural, easygoing, playful temperament that made my son feel safe and adventurous in trying out food challenges. Our son has developed flexibility in drinking out of different cups, is able to handle sticky/wet foods much better, and has taken his first bites out of sandwiches--this was huge for us. What I especially appreciated about Amanda is that she had a big-picture plan of where she wanted our son's development to go (with our input), so that the foods/themes proceeded along logically from session to session, which made it conducive for our son to learn and assimilate more effectively and quickly. (It is common for feeding therapists to take an adhoc approach from week to week.) My family is grateful to have found Amanda, and are sure that her new family-clients in Colorado will be extraordinarily lucky to work with her.

Lobby is clean and inside therapy areas are impeccably clean. Facility is bigger than what we are used to which is better because they provide a lot of options. My son comes in for OT with Kyli and she's amazing with him! Kyli is the best OT we've had encountered thus far. She does very well with him. She's not only worked on fine, gross motor skills but also picky eating amongst other things. We've seen a lot of improvement since he's started OT at Carrico with Kyli. She has recently opened an office in Temecula, and it is a God's send.  I have experience with a few other hand therapists in the Temecula area, and Evans is by far the best. They have been able to accomplish things that other therapists couldn't deliver, increased range of motion without unnecessary pain.  At Evans, they are extremely knowledgeable and professional, yet personable. They cater to what you need but are open to feedback.  There is no "one-size fits all" type of therapy at Evans. Kimberly is a genuine person and pays attention to you, your treatment, and your experience. It is clear by the decor, the staff, and the atmosphere that Kimberly cares about the details of the practice. I admire that they give back to the profession by bringing in interns to learn and study under the certified therapists on staff. Patrick is a diamond in the rough, eager to learn and eager to help.  If you are looking for a Hand/Arm/Shoulder practice that is top-notch and accessible, you found it.

After being diagnosed with nerve impingement in my shoulders, my doctor wrote an Rx for PT, suggesting another place in town. After seeing the reviews, I went to Chief. I am super impressed with the personal service and having a one on one with the same therapist (doctor). They really know their stuff and how the body is supposed to work. I had previously been given shoulder exercises elsewhere, but had never been taught the nerve glide that stretches the shoulder nerves to your fingertips. That and other exercises practiced at home proved to be the treatment I needed. The video instructions provided were extremely helpful to teach me to do the PT on my own. I love that this is a small practice that treats patients individually. It really made a difference in my treatment, and a bigger difference in my quality of life. The odd compliment was to stop going to their business because they taught me the skillset I needed to improve my situation. I appreciate how the exercises were explained as to the benefits they would provide. I will add one piece of advice to this review. Before surgery, seek out different doctors in different practices. Sometimes a neurosurgeon might readily intervene when physical therapy is the better treatment option. Based on my symptoms, I had two cervical discs fused and am not convinced the surgery was the best approach. Ironically, an orthopedic surgeon quickly diagnosed my shoulder nerve impingement and suggested PT over surgery. I will never know if my cervical fusion was necessary, but I am glad to have significant pain reduction and mobility thanks to the treatment at Chief Physical Therapy.

I noticed improvement after the first session and have continued to experience progress since then. I took an integrative approach to my treatment, which also included chiropractic adjustments to my neck and jaw, additional laser therapies at my chiropractor's office, and SoftWave therapy. To my surprise, the Remy laser was far superior to the SoftWave therapy for my condition. I believe this is because the laser was able to target certain areas that SoftWave could not. Additionally, the entire staff is friendly and incredibly helpful, from the receptionists to the therapists who administer the laser therapy. Rachel has administered most of my laser treatments, and she is the absolute best! I feel comfortable telling her where my pain points are, and she makes sure to address them. She also follows up on my progress and asks thoughtful questions to help me determine whether certain pain is referred or the primary source. I am very grateful to the entire Chief Physical Therapy team for their care, expertise, and support in helping me make meaningful progress in my health.
