Was looking for an Italian restaurant and Vicari was recommended by a local. So we decided to try it out. Arrived around 6:30 without a reservation, however we were seated immediately. The restaurant was beautiful. Low lighting warm atmosphere and brick walls. We're seated up stairs near a beautiful bar. Apparently they hold many events up stairs. The waitress was very sweet and helpful. She was covering the entire upstairs and was apologetic for keeping us waiting. We started with a side salad. I ordered the Caesar salad and my husband ordered the house salad both delicious and fresh. For the main course I ordered Tuscan chicken in a cream spinach sauce with bow tie pasta. Waitress was so nice offered to make it with any pasta I wanted. It was cooked to perfection. My husband ordered the lasagna with meat sauce. He stated it was delicious. The Resturant was a little pricey but the food and atmosphere made it worth it. read more

I would have picked a 3.5 star... We arrived at 5pm, asked to sit upstairs at the bar for a drink before dinner. The two very friendly hostesses said a class reunion was upstairs in the dinning section, but we could sit at the bar and come down for dinner without a need for a reservation. We sat at the bar for a drink, it was freezing, but probably because of the number of people for the reunion and the AC had to be set low. The bar tender was very busy, but sweet and attentive to us. She made us great cockatiels, with some wait, but totally understandable due to the large party for the reunion. We finished our drinks and moved down stairs for our meal. We placed an order for two appetizers to share ( I do think they are a bit pricey here). We had average table service, mostly because of the attitude of our server, not very attentive and felt like we were the bothering her. The food was excellent. Then restaurant was clean. Vicaris is one of the few restaurants that provide a quality ambiance with a balanced menu and good cocktail options. The menu has recently changed. Moving from an Italian bistro to a standard burgers, sliders, steaks and salads. There are a few smaller plate options which was a nice touch. We ate there yesterday trying the new menu. I was very disappointed with the food quality. I had a small plate which included chicken, rice and zucchini. Well the rice was cold, it was 3 pieces of zucchini and a chicken breast with pesto and cheese on it. Chicken was nice and moist but I could have done a better job with the food quality and presentation at home. The bigger disappointment was I paid a premier price for something avg a best. Used to be THE BEST, now it's just fine. It's a lovely restaurant with excellent staff still, but the food has been steadily declining for a little over a year. The ribeye and chop house potatoes used to be out of this world. Ordered 5-10 times a year since 2017ish. Then in the last year, I tried ordering the same dish several times and everything just tasted off. If it was only once or twice, I would have thought it was off nights. But the 3rd time, it was definite. I'm so sad!! I would have put this restaurant up against any fancy restaurant in Nashville in previous years. Now they recently changed their menu and things are just somehow even slightly worse. I wish them the best truly, but quality is just not there anymore. read more

The food and service were on point. The problems are updating website for current location. We went to the other site and had trouble finding the place. It was close and because it was drizzling we were frustrated. The bathrooms are not clearly marked and the host location appeared lazy and overstuffed (3 people hanging out). Yet, the food delivered on the experience. I had spaghetti and meatballs which ere delicious. My friends ordered lasagna which hit the spot with taste and flavor. The appetizer was caprese and was okay, but the tomatoes were tasteless. That attention to detail was missing. Overall, the place needs a manager's focus from before one arrives to delivery of food from the kitchen. The bones are there and a few focused tweaks will take the rating from a two star to a four or five. read more

The best thing about this place was the service. Our waiter was very good. He was incredibly helpful. We were very excited about trying this place, and the yelp reviews had us more excited. But I have to say- the majority of our party was disappointed. The food was very inconsistent. Some dishes were delicious. Some were not great. Start with the great: -creamed spinach tortellini with blackened chicken was excellent. Great ratio of pasta to sauce and the chicken was perfectly blackened. -pork tenderloin: this was seasoned well and the pear sauce was very good. -blackened chicken Alfredo Not so great: -prime rib. The presentation was boring and lack luster. The taste wasn't much better. Good thing it was served with potatoes because those were good. -ribeye steak: the LOOK of the steak was GREAT! Perfect grill pattern on the steak, but the taste was just.. adequate. For a $45 dry aged ribeye, it wasn't anything special. Again- potatoes were great! The tomato with crusted Parmesan was good, but ... not difficult to make that taste good. -shrimp jalapeño poppers: possibly the most disappointing dish. When I saw this on the menu, I thought "man! Absolutely!!!" It's right up our alley! BUT I wish I would've just gotten a salad like the rest of the table. This dish is a plate of a roughly 8 shrimp; each wrapped in bacon with a slice of jalapeño wrapped with it. But the jalapeño was absolutely pointless. It was so tiny and you couldn't taste it at all. All I tasted was the grill burnt areas of the bacon. Couldn't taste shrimp. Couldn't taste jalapeño. Overall- this place is fine. But in my opinion, if I'm going to pay that price, I expect more. More ambiance. More taste. More consistency. More food presentation. And.. more jalapeño. read more

What the heck? This was a really good restaurant in a very small town with not much population around it. The dining room is beautiful, food was good and service was excellent. I suppose part of the value was the unexpected surprise of finding a good meal. Flew into Memphis and drove to Corinth on the first day of a short 5 day vacation. Very pleasant surprise in Corinth. Stopped by here with my family for dinner on our way to Pickwick last week after my wife discovered it in Yelp. A really cool building in old downtown Corinth. The service is top notch; our server was excellent. The bread was very good. We were able to place a special order for my daughter which she loved (bow tie pasta with fettuccini). Decided to try this for a girls night based on recommendations. The ambiance and environment were nice. Trace was our waiter. He was very polite, answered questions about the menu, and was very attentive. However, the food was unfortunately worse than terrible. Ordered appetizers with our entrees. The crab claws had nearly no meat, very mediocre. Bruschetta was ok. For entrees, the crab and shrimp manicotti was reportedly a very popular menu choice, and 2 members of party ordered. The shell may have been a flour tortilla. The filling was sickening. Maybe the crab was rotten? Not sure but the smell was rank. The taste, even worse. I consider myself a human garbage disposal, will eat anything, hard to disappoint. I took one bite and was immediately disgusted. As for the other entrees at the table...the salmon was dry and mediocre at best. The broccoli was nearly raw. The filet steak was not high quality. My lobster ravioli was good. Wow! Is my first impression upon walking into Vicari. I went on a road trip from Memphis with about 10 friends. When they proposed driving this far off dinner, I thought it sounded odd, but hey, let's check it out. I was expecting something quaint and rustic, but I was wrong. So much class from the time you walk through the doors from the elegant staircase, baby grand piano, floor to ceiling windows and overall decor. We were immediately greeted, but had to wait a moment for our table to be prepared because we were about 20 minutes early for our reservation. This allowed us time to explore the restaurant, which was beautiful through & through. A few of my friends had been here before and insisted we try the lobster shooter appetizer and anything with the sauce. I ordered the grilled shrimp poppers, which were kinda small, but tasty. I also tried the mushrooms and they were typical. The meatballs were oozing with cheese. But the Lobster Shooters were to die for! The sake sauce was amazing. The only drawback is I wish there was more lobster. I ordered the baked spaghetti as my main dish because I heard so much about the sauce. It was delicious! My friends bought extra sauce to take home. A few friends ordered desserts and I had a bite and enjoyed that too. Vicari was discovered by my friends after attending a concert nearby. Theda was an excellent server - low key but efficient - nice. Listings gave us the impression this was an Italian Restaurant. While they have pasta dishes, they have everything. My Salmon was done perfectly, and the asparagus was nice and crisp. My wife's Eggplant was a real nice portion. Noise level was medium, but at times we had to talk louder than normal - a booth would have been better than a table. Price was good for what we got - no issues with that - but when you pay that much for a meal, to add a credit card fee seems out of touch. How many people are paying with cash in a place like this ... it was only $2.00 but does not seem worth the bad taste it leaves. If we are in the area again, we would surely consider stopped here for dinner. Good selection of meals and good service. read more
