This hotel is amazing! It has a vintage design, rooftop bar, and all the downtown energy just steps away. The rooms are reminiscing of the true NYC Flat Iron hotel. Service was great, as were the rooms and amenities. Upon entry, you receive a complimentary champagne or beer. Valet parking is also available. Would definitely stay here often!

The Flat Iron Hotel is pretty new and we stumbled upon while looking for a rooftop pizza restaurant. The people in Asheville were just wonderful they charmingly suggested they have a rooftop and pizza so we decided to give it a shot. The view on the rooftop was breath taking you can see the ranges for miles and miles cascading on top of each other. We tried this pizza that had nice summer peach, mushroom, goat cheese and pickle onions, it was one of the best uncommon pizza I ever tasted. The beer was reasonably priced and then I stumbled upon this scent in the bathroom. When we left to go downstairs the lady at the desk showed me the signature hotel scent it was sooooo good!! And she was so nice and took us on a room tour so we can come back next time!! Love the hotel's hospitality! We need more of that in DC - reasonable priced good food and polite staff!!

In town for a concert at Asheville Yards, we stayed the night at The Flat Iron Hotel and were absolutely charmed! From the welcome drinks to the robes in the room, every detail is carefully planned. We upgraded to a king suite and loved the 360* views that offered. For an even better view, the rooftop bar is not to be missed. Conveniently located downtown, walking distance to everything you could want. The staff were all so welcoming. We cannot wait for a return visit!

I'd give 10 stars if I could! one of the loveliest hotel stays I've ever had. absolutely charming in downtown Asheville - from start to finish our experience was grand. complimentary champagne upon our arrival, a fantastic restaurant and rooftop cafe, and a speakeasy below made our stay so much fun. you're walking distance to so many local shops and things to do in Asheville. will definitely be back!!

Positives: Small welcome drink at check-in (a beer or prosecco). The room was clean. No off putting odors. Shower pressure was some of the best we've come across at hotels. The beds are extremely comfortable and we had a great sleep most nights. The rooms get nice and cool depending on your temperature setting. That was nice bc some hotels don't allow the room to get cooler than a certain temp. Each floor has a small common area for water, coffee, tea and for ice. They must have this due to not having much in the rooms (like a refrigerator to keep your beverages cold) - no bottled water. It's on a tap system like beer. So you can get a cup of water. The carbonated water handle didn't work any of the nights we were there. It was cool to walk around the hotel and see the faux doors/plaques with names of different figures who helped to shape the area. The staff in every area were very friendly. Even staff during elevator encounters. They always asked what floor you were going to or how your day was going. We always came back to clean towels in our room after our long outings and the bed was always made. The rooms are very sound proof. We never heard anyone in the hallway and never heard doors opening/closing. The only occasional noise was from outside. Overall, it was fun to experience this historic place. The negatives far outweigh the positives though. We are all about history, site seeing, etc so one stay was nice. But overall, I would choose to stay elsewhere due to the extra fees charged at check-in, the lack of amenities, the parking situation, etc. It is in a good downtown location so it's close to a lot of stores/restaurants. But there are also many other hotels in this area. Negatives: We booked a room w/a King sized bed. It did not have the accent chair as shown in the photos on their website. At check-in you are charged an additional $150 per night for incidentals, which is an obscene amount. That added $600 to our bill. If we don't get it back - we will have to dispute it with our credit card company. The website says there are no hidden fees, but I didn't see this extra fee posted anywhere. There is no on-site parking. You have to use a parking garage, which charges by the hour or $15 per day or use valet, which is $30. We will be here throughout a weekend so I am concerned that there will be no available parking on Friday or Saturday. I absolutely hate spiders - when we first got to our room one was running across the bed. No refrigerator in the room. This is supposed to be a happening beer scene so if you bring beer back with you - you will have to fill the bathroom sink with ice. The provided ice bucket is too small for more than one beer. If you do use the sink for ice/drinks then you have no where to wash your hands. Since there is no refrigerator there is no where to store any dinner leftovers. No tables in the room if you choose to bring back takeout or order delivery. You will have to eat on the bed. If you like to hang up your clothes - there were only 4 shirt hangers. The bathroom has no air system so if you shower with the door closed it will become incredibly hot and your bathroom products outside of the shower will all become wet from the shower steam. The shower has one very small spot to put your products. So I was able to put my stuff in the shower, but my boyfriend could not. The lighting in the room is dim - even on the highest setting. There's not a good area to do your makeup due to the lighting in the bathroom or room. There are no recommendations left in your room regarding local places to eat, visit, etc. There is a jar in the common area where you can pick out pieces of paper one by one with recommendations on them, but I didn't want to spend time doing that. A single list would be nice. There is a place for breakfast, on the 9th floor, but only one person usually working. So you will have a wait. People not staying at the hotel will have access to the 9th floor balcony area or the basement bar, so both can become too crowded. Also, the one photo showing a sign about the rooftop access - shows you need to go downstairs and enter through a certain street. That's not the case so it's very confusing to have signs like that on each floor.

This newly Renovated Gem is in the Heart of Asheville's Downtown and so sassy! when we checked in, we were offered complementary Prosecco, which I loved that my husband isn't a huge fan. We had one night stay and even though it was a quick trip we Explored the rooftop Bar which was complete with 3 separate outdoor seating areas as well as an inside Bar and seating. The views were pretty and the patio I loved most was with comfy modern couches and Fire tables! Before we headed out to dinner we made our was to the basement with a quaint speakeasy! The drinks were on point and the Bartenders were so nice and delivered the drinks quickly. The rooms are small, but efficiently laid out and cozy. I enjoyed the shower, but I think a large person would not enjoy the narrowness. Our room was just around the corner from a coffee/tea water and ice station. I really enjoyed the fact that the ice was pre-packaged in little bags that you could just grab so there is no noisy ice machine. There is only one downside to this lovely place. It is one elevator. I know they are working on the existing two historical elevators and once those are finished, I'm sure they will be amazing and things will move a little quicker. If you are ever in the area to stay, I highly recommend this place.

Before coming, I read that the Gingerbread House competition had just ended and that the displays were still up. When we arrived, I didn't realize parking was now paid $30 which was surprising since the first time we visited it was free. Walking up to the hotel is impressive on its own. Seeing how this massive structure was built out of stone so long ago is amazing. Inside, there was a video playing that explained how the hotel was constructed, which was very informative. The roof being made of solid concrete to help make the building waterproof was especially interesting. When you walk through the front doors, the entry is grand and open, with huge fireplaces on both sides. The gingerbread house displays were spread across two floors and were absolutely incredible. It's amazing to see the talent, from young adults to experienced artists. Some of the displays look incredibly realistic. I added photos, and hopefully the video of the grand prize winner shows as well, it's truly impressive. We walked around the rest of the hotel for a while and then stopped for lunch (see my restaurant review). The food was excellent. We hope to return one day and stay here. I'd also love to come back and play a round of golf here.

The only issue the needs immediate attention is the pillows. four of us all said the same at breakfast. The last morning, my Wife woke up to a Brown Recluse spider (arguably Deadly). That wasn't the worst of it, the management reaction was apathetical at best. They said their Pest control expert deemed it a wolf spider, still a nasty bite but won't kill you! Every one I showed the pictures from their wall said absolutely a Brown Recluse. After leaving messages with his underlines, with out response, I finally called Cezar, the GM, personally, he had the same attitude, ho hum. Long and short of it, before you book your event at this location, consider if apathy is what you want of a managerial support staff. The attached pics are of the spider in our room, and a wolf for comparison. Google Brown Recluse, and wolf spider images. I ended up lining up our extra pillows under my duvet and was able to sleep ok that way. The noise level - cool but old building equals creaky floors, thin walls, and in our 2nd room, loud pipes. Our first room was so loud above we couldn't even enjoy tv at night let alone sleep (of course we had someone who seemed to be logging steps all evening and throughout the night). Positives: Breakfast - we included breakfast with our booking thru Hotels.com, and very glad we did. Service was slow but very friendly. Although I didn't believe them at first, included is any breakfast you want. You order anything off the menu and they remove the tabs from your bill. All the food we had over 3 mornings was fabulous. The water - filtered (and sparkling) water station in the lobby. We stopped by and filled up each day. Service - every employee was friendly and helpful. They happily moved us from a 2nd floor to top after night one was too loud. Restaurant staff always nice, valets were friendly. Great location - easy in and out, perfect location to roam downtown, loads of good restaurants nearby Rooms - decent sized rooms and bathrooms, comfy pillows, power curtains and large windows. Overall after I crafted my own soft mattress and relocated to a top floor room, we ended up having a great stay.

This is located right in Biltmore Village, which I heard had a lot more going on before Helene made her way to town a few years ago. :( It's right next to the Biltmore, but there's not really a lot in the area. In fact, when we first pulled up we noticed it was situated right between a McDonalds and a Hardees and wondered where we were staying. The lobby is very cool and modern....and all the staff were very welcoming. When we checked in we were told we were staying in the manor across the street. I don't remember booking that part of the hotel, but the man at the front desk mentioned he prefers those rooms. It's literally right across the street so super easy, but it's across the busiest street I saw in Asheville which requires waiting a very long time at the crosswalk. I didn't see very many people during our 4 nights in the Manor and wondered if we had it all to ourselves. The room itself was nice, clean and modern. There were little things i liked (ex: liquid hand soap) and things i didn't (ex: no trash can in the bathroom) but overall we were comfortable. And my husband mentioned many times he was very happy with the TV situation. While our stay here was fine I did regret not staying elsewhere. I would have loved an area to sit outside and enjoy the nice weather and just more in the area. I did like the room a lot better than the night we spent at the Omni Grove, but think i may have preferred staying at the Kimpton downtown or at the Biltmore where we could take advantage of the hiking, biking and everything else they have going on there.
