Dr. Cao made the whole experience easy and stress free. I first had a macular hole diagnosed then treated with laser. I then developed a macular pucker which was resolved with a vitrectomy and peel. All follow up exams were handled professionally and courteously. Wait times in the office can be a little long but I never felt rushed once I was in with the techs and doctor. read more

I saw Dr. Cao for a 2nd opinion of a disease I had been diagnosed with a few days prior. Dr. Cao gave me a completely different diagnosis with what looks like a worse outlook. I feel that her exam was extremely thorough and that both technicians were skilled and personable and so was the entire office staff. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ruby was my first contact and she was exceptionally friendly, patient and helpful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] During my visit, Dr. Cao showed me images of my eye compared to other eyes with the same disease. My images looked similar to those she showed me and less like the ones from my previous diagnosis. After leaving the office though I later learned that my disease is often associated with diabetes, high BP and amino acid deficiency but I don't have any of these conditions. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also, to my recollection, we didn't discuss any long range prognosis for vision loss or what the statistics show for my disease.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dr. Cao said there is no treatment at this time but I'm now curious if any lifestyle changes can possibly help to improve my chances.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I guess I didn't fully grasp the seriousness of my diagnosis while I was in the office but do so more fully after researching the disease. Finally, Dr. Cao wrote the report for my visit with great attention to detail and everything that transpired during my visit was well documented in the report. In summary, I was impressed with Dr. Cao's knowledge and skill in her field but I do still have some unanswered questions. read more

Every visit to The Retina partners is a great visit. I'm reminded about the appointment ahead of time. When I arrive I'm happily welcomed by the front desk person and within minutes one of the excellent tech assistants, Ian or Genesis, who by the way answer any questions I may have, finish my preliminary tests and within minutes I'm being seen by my retina Doctor. My doctor is Dr. Dadgostar, who is extremely knowledgeable, bright and wonderful with Retina and 'patient' care. Each visit leaves me with a confidence my retina care is in the very best hands in the Retina business. This practice was recommended by our Opthamologist. I called and stated that my husband had recently had large floaters in his right eye. We were given an appt. a month later. After a few weeks, he called back and asked for an appt. sooner as the floaters were more frequent, he was told they couldn't fit him in. A week later he called again and told them he had a shadow over his eye and again they refused to see him. The following Monday, after worsening vision he went to the ER who told him his retina was detached and that he needed to be seen immediately. The next day he called and left a message and it wasn't returned. The ER had recommended he call Miramar, who got him in immediately. Emergency surgery was scheduled. The damage may already been done and his vision may be permanently changed. I can't begin to explain the anger I am feeling towards this inept group! read more

I had an appointment at 11:00 AM , got there at 10:57 AM. After that, I was kept waiting in the reception room for an hour. They know why I was there and I need my eye dilated. Why can they not do that when they are not busy at all? By 12 noon, they finally called my name, but by then I had enough with the inefficiency from them and told them to cancel my appointment because I don't want them to charge me for waiting and thinking I was a no-show. The office had bad management, indifference to patients, and I highly recommend NOT to visit the office, to save your own dignity, time, and energy, not to mention the money you could have made while you are waiting in their office doing nothing. read more

After searching for a doctor to provide a second opinion on a detached retina issue that I have been having for awhile, I found this practice (Dr. Sanfilippo) and I'm OVERJOYED that I I did (and kicking myself for not looking for this practice 11 months ago (another story and another review). The staff of this office is EVERYTHING you would need / want. Friendly! Skilled! Professional! Prompt! Yes the even follow-up when they promise to get back to you! I have nothing but praise for my doctor and would recommend him to anyone whom is in need of a skilled medical professional who deals ONLY with retina issues. (No, they don't deal with cornea issues...only retina issues...thus the name.)
