Showing of 1 review This review does not include final results. My wife went for a vitrectomy but little explanation was given before. 1. We were on the assumption that anesthesia was going to be general and found out during the surgery when my wife felt (pain) the needles on her eye. 2. She was told about staying looking down certain period for around 4 days after the surgery while the day after was told it could be weeks. 3. On the visit the day after the surgery when she got the patch removed she almost started crying because she could not see, then was told that was normal and it could take weeks, she should have been warned. 4. When seeing a different doctor the day after the surgery, little was explain other than "it looks normal", when my wife tried to ask about her concerns he seemed like on a rush to leave and left the assistant to answer. 5. She got paper listing two prescriptions for before and two after, we were told that not need to use the ointment and just use the two prescribed for before and one prescribed for after, I questioned "but the ointment is an antibiotic" and the assistant just responded that it was just if want it use at night to feel better. 6. I did my own search and found out that one prescription for before is an antibiotic same as the ointment, I assume that is the reason why the ointment is not needed. Throughout my research I found the vision issues for after the surgery so I was able to calm my wife, although I am not a doctor. In addition, I found there are two types of gas a fast acting and a long acting which I do not know what was used. I just hope the end result is as expected and faster than the unknown. read more

We'll run facility who listened to my call and triaged my visit re: a floater. The front staff and tech were helpful and professional. Facility equipment was new and unique to me. Dr Yang was informative, went over all the pics on her computer. She pointed out and explained as she was reviewing. Definitely recommend here. read more

Dr. Avery seemed knowledgeable enough, but I'm sure will not have remembered a thing about me or my health the second he left the exam room. This is a factory, churning out patients. It's all about volume. Could not have cared less about my concerns. Oh and still waiting for a call back from message I left a week ago with a question about my appointment for today (staff are all young women with the bare minimum in training). And for those who care about covid, not a mask in sight anywhere in the very busy office during a surge after Labor Day. If you have no other options, you'll be fine, I guess. But I'll be going elsewhere next time. read more

Dr. Nasir has been my doctor for several years. He is so through on his treatment and explains things in detail. He is very friendly, caring and gives you the best treatment for your treatment of eyes that could lead to blindness if ignored I count my blessings I was referred to him by Dr. Paveloff in Santa Barbara who has been my doctor fir years. 5 stars for Dr. Couvillon but 2 star for the management. I had an 8:15 appointment and finally got in to the the doctor at 10:20. This is not unusual for this office. Makes no sense for such an early appointment. And the thing that bothers me most is that no one bothers to update you to let you know what's going on. I think Dr. Couvillon is good but seriously thinking of changing. I can't afford to spend 2 hours for a routine appointment with no one acknowledging that they are late. read more

I have the job of driving two patients to this practice for macular degeneration treatment, i.e. shots in the eye. Over the past months, since Dr. Avery left the practice, it has been a constant slippery slope for these two patients. One is 92 and the other is 79. The older patient has had extreme pain the whole rest of the day and night, after her treatment, and is constantly having trouble getting appointments. Appointments are cancelled or rescheduled without checking if it is ok with her. There is no regard for her needs, no consideration whatsoever. The 79year old has said the same thing regarding scheduling. They arbitrarily change the schedule, or cancel an appointment only to call her last minute to confirm the cancelled appointment. This has recently occurred, and I am writing this review on their behalf, for their welfare, but also because of the mismanagement in the front office, my work schedule is totally screwed up. I have lost two jobs this week all because of the front desk at this Retina Center. My advice, go somewhere else, seriously!!! read more

I have called twice to get an appointment. Both between 10 and 11 am, during regular business hours. They don't answer the phone! After not answering the phone, I have been sent to a recording to leave a message but I can't because the mailbox is full! Seriously, I am not trying to make an appointment for the fun of it. Our first experience with Dr. See was a good one. Today my husband returned for a follow up. After having his eyes dilated, he was put in a room to wait for the doctor. 1 hour later, he got up and left. Not once did anyone come in to let him know the doctor was running late, or how long it might be before he was seen. No customer care at all. So disappointing that an excellent doctor has such an inefficient staff. read more

I was referred by my brother who has been a patient of Dr. Nasir for several years. I transferred my care from Jules Stein to Dr. Nasir about 6 months ago. He is very knowledgeable and he takes the time to explain my condition. My retina condition has improved and I am very grateful for Dr. Nasir. I was a new patient here in January. I waited over 3 hours to be seen. When the doctor finally arrived, less than 5 minutes were spent with me and I was told to return in 2 months for follow=up. When I arrived, my partner/care giver was not allowed to accompany into the waiting area or the exam area. Before my return visit, I called and asked to speak with the doctor who examined me. I was told that the doctors at this clinic do not speak with patients on the telephone! I have never been denied access by phone to any physician. This is unacceptable. I am writing this scathing review to warn others of this terrible clinic. Let me tell you what you won't get at this location. You won't be greeted by the four lazy receptionists that man the front desk. They are all too busy talking to one another. They have a sign outside that says to wait outside until someone comes out..well, I waited 15 minutes and none of those lazy moron receptionists ever came out. So I went inside with my elderly mother (who by now was tired of standing and waiting). Once we got inside it was another 10 minute wait at the front desk until those pathetic sluggish receptionists offered any assistance. Im not certain I would return and spend an afternoon just to wait. I definitely would see a different doctor. Im changing my elderly mother to another doctor..time lost here is just not worth it. To have her come two days straight because THEY screwed up is plain absurd. One appointment was to take her eye photos, then return another day to see the doctor, after a very lengthy wait. These receptionist are seriously overpaid for doing nothing except ignoring their patients then treating them extremely rude. Receptionists are a dime a dozen, I'd suggest they fire the whole lot and start fresh. Front desk staff is the first impression a patient encounters and here it is nothing short of horrible! I have been under the care of Dr. Ma'an Nasir of California Retina Consultants (Oxnard) and have been amazed and pleased by the high level of professionalism and care I received from him and his staff for the past two years. Any issue that developed with my eyes, his staff was always willing to work me in to see him or one of his colleagues, if Dr. Nasir wasn't on duty that day.
