We got a bill [Sept 2022] and immediately I knew something was wrong because we get an annual exam each year covered 100% under our vision insurance. So I called the billing phone number on the bill and after several attempts to speak with someone I finally got a person. Discovered they billed medical and not our vision insurance. The rep I spoke with put in a request to rebill our vision. Which she did. Then I got the EOB from our vision insurance [Nov 2022] that they denied the claim because the Dr office used the wrong codes. This morning I tried to call the billing number again and it's now been disconnected. So we called the direct number to the office and spoke with Dee-anne who basically said they no longer take vision insurance. OK THAT WOULD OF BEEN GREAT TO KNOW BACK IN FEB 2022 WHEN MY HUSBAND CHECKED IN FOR HIS EYE EXAM APPOINTMENT!!!!!! Dee-anne basically said, "too bad it's not our problem we didn't tell you we don't accept vision insurance!" STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE THEY SUCK!

A good friend recommended DLV and so I made an appointment and went to see if they could persuade me to hand over my vision to them, I was very skeptical because my vision was bad but not bad enough to be desperate for lasik. So anything less than an excellent result would have been a problem for me. From intake, to the initial exams, to the amazing closer/administrator Diana, the process was INSANELY human and warm and detailed. I saw so many specialists (surgeon, ophthalmology, optometry, lenses, etc) They made me feel completely in control, spent hours with me, gave me all the options and explanations I needed to feel fully comfortable moving forward. They even pushed forward my secondary screening to the same day so I could schedule the surgery for the soonest possible date. In the end my vision is exactly what was promised if not better. LASIK is not a cure all for 20/20 near and far, it has trade-offs, and Dr Dougherty explained all of these perfectly and exactly what he said would happen came true. I chose monovision to try and reduce the chances of or delay needing reading glasses. The monovision KICKS ASS. I can see my phone close up and perfect 10/20 far vision at the same time! Like most of us, I am admittedly a chicken when it comes to the notion of anyone getting close to…read moremy eyes. When it came time for cataract surgery several years ago, and after seeing the surgeon my husband had gone to, I knew I needed a different practice. A dear friend recommended Dr. Davidson, and I'd heard other good things about him, too. He ended up doing my surgery and it went smoothly with great results. What a feeling of liberation to be free from glasses! Not sure why I didn't leave a review at the time. I will admit that the offices in T.O. near Los Robles are very busy. That might be off-putting for some. The staff does their best to still make it feel like a personal healthcare experience. I saw several providers there and supporting techs, with Dr. Davidson doing the initial consultation and laser surgery. I have my own long-time optometrist who saw me for follow up care at another practice. It was he who confirmed that it was time for a follow up "tune-up" of one of my lens implants. Over the past four years some cloudiness had formed, which isn't unusual. Back to Dr. Davidson to confirm that a Yag laser quick procedure should fix me right up and back to clear vision. The most challenging part of this process was having my eyes dilated for the exam, and then a second day for the actual procedure. It takes a while for my eyes to return to normal. Yesterday I had the Yag zapping, and it was extremely fast and I didn't feel a thing. Even leaving the clinic with heavy sunglasses on I could tell right away that a positive difference had been made. Dr. Davidson did his magic again! Today I am really enjoying my improved vision.

I received LASIK from DLV about 5 months ago but then my vision started to get blurry again so i…read morehad to call back to get a touch up. The doctor works in three different offices so he is only available on certain days for procedures. Does not do procedures on Thursdays and Fridays. They are not open weekends either. So I called in to schedule a touch up and there was a next day appointment available. I accepted the appointment and was given confirmation that my procedure would be in Camarillo. Around 5pm right before the office closes, i get a text message saying my appointment in Westlake has been canceled with no reason. So now im confused, do i take the day off tomorrow or is there a mix up? I call back the next morning to reschedule. I get a LASIk procedure scheduled for a Monday and they don't tell you the time until the day before the procedure. Come Friday before my procedure, I never received a call nor text nor email and its after hours and the office is closed on the weekends. Kind of an inconvenience as i have to arrange a ride and a caretaker. Fast forward to the day of my procedure. No calls or emails or texts received. I have to call and chase them down to find out whats going on. Apparently they canceled my procedure but neglected to inform me or even attempted to reach me the day of. Again i have to reschedule my appointment.

I have been to Conejo Simi Eye twice to see Dr Mangers and have received such great care…read more The first time was an emergency visit right before Christmas. I was having a bad reaction and they were able to get me in so quickly. Dr Mangers was thorough, so knowledgable, and sympathetic. We did all the tests to make sure I was ok and I left feeling so relieved. She wanted to see me again this year to follow up on some things we were keeping an *eye* on (hehe). Called in to make an appointment and was able to get in next day. Again, the visit was efficient and thorough. All the staff members are very kind. The office is clean and neat- there are two different offices, one upstairs and one down so just make sure you know which you are going to. Plenty of free parking right outside the building. We all know it can be hard finding quality care in the medical field so it feels really great to have an Ophthalmologist you can rely on and trust.

I don't care how close this place is to my home, I will gladly drive to get better service! I got a new prescription and I realized about 5 months later that the reason I couldn't see my computer at work is because of my new prescription. I thought it was just my eyes getting worse since I was on vacation for the summer (3 months) until my friend gave me her glasses and I could see! I looked at her prescription and she had my OLD prescription!! I was so annoyed that I went that long not being able to see. I called and asked them to simply write me a script with my OLD prescription and explained why. They told me they would have to charge me $40 to simply write me my original prescription?!?! I said "really?! You guys got my prescription wrong and I have to pay to put it back?! She said yes because it had been past 30 days. I explained to her my situation and honestly, regardless- you got my prescription WRONG! That is a fair reason to fix it. I wasn't asking for another exam- just simply renew my old original prescription. Let's not forget the money I spent on new glasses with that bad prescription and I wasn't asking for that back. I just wanted my old prescription renewed. They refused. That alone shows me they do not care to correct their mistake. They only care about making money. A piece of paper does not cost $40! I'll take my business back to Target. Both the Moorpark and Simi locations are fantastic and have great customer service! I only came here because my medical covers the exam. I would rather pay for my prescription then have it done WRONG- spend $500 on new glasses and then be told they won't fix it for me with a piece of paper that takes 30 seconds to write. No thanks. Ok fine…read more Then on 5/15 I get a call that she is going to be out of the office and the earliest they can reschedule me is another full month out on 7/26. Waiting 4 months for an eye appt is crazy. We went to an optometrist instead. I get that unexpected plans pop up but if you know you're booking 3 months out you should have your vacations planned at least that far in advance.
