I recently adopted a stray cat and wanted to make sure she was cleaned up properly: bathing, nail clipping, the whole ordeal. While I admit that I don't know the slightest thing about cat grooming, what I do know is that the end result for my cat looked ridiculous. When I first met with the groomer, she asked me about several preferences that I didn't know the answer to -- something along the lines of "Do you want a lion's mane? How about saving the fur boots?" Not sure what I responded but the groomer ended up shaving the entire body while keeping the head, tail, and legs unshaved without any transition. I'm still processing how my cat looks. This is partially on me for not knowing what I was getting myself into but regardless, I can't fathom any owner wanting their cat to look like a hybrid between a black Puss In Boots and the alien from ET. I'm trying to express my disappointment, but I can't help but laugh instead at how poorly this groom had been executed. +1 star because the groomer was very polite and accommodated me despite being 20 minutes late from an emergency. Turnaround time took about 2 hours and came out to $110 pre-tip. I don't think I'm coming back here... at least, not until I know explicitly what I want my cat to look like down to the tiniest detail. read more

After today i will no longer be going to The Rich Groomer. I have been a customer for 2 years almost i was really sad and upset after i left and picked up my 13 year old senior maltipoo pet. she is like my child my bestfriend my sibling i know she is just a dog but her name is Luna and she is my 13 year old senior pet. they had a last minute opening today and i took it my luna needed a haircut for the summer. i arrived 11:47 am dropped off said it would take 2 hours and i left per usual. i called around 1:47pm to just do a check in not trying to rush anyone but just to call and check to see how things were going with my luna since that's my pet and i love her dearly making sure everything was okay and it had been about 2 hours at that time already. the owner Cameron is who i spoke with and he told me about 30 minutes more is what he needed. i said perfect no problem im just checking in thank you. he called me around 2:55pm and was very frustrated asking where i was and the luna was ready for pick up and that she had used the restroom 2 times already and i was going to be charged an extra fee for her popping due to him assuming i was there or nearby. i stated okay how much is it extra for the cleaning fee for her pooping. he then proceeded to not tell me how much it was and told me Just come pick up your dog. i said im sorry and i was only waiting for them to call me to let me know they had finished grooming my pet and i stated i was leaving a review due to the fact he was very aggressive when calling me to come and pick up my pet which again is like very rude and unprofessional for an owner of the business to speak with the customer in that way and tone. especially when he assumed and thought i was nearby or there already. i arrive at 3:30pm to pick up luna i say hi as Cameron came out to say you're the one leaving the review okay go ahead and leave a review. i have very bad ptsd and depression and no lie this situation made my day really bad. i'm a very positive and happy person regardless of what things i've gone through and for someone who is having a bad day takes it out on me it irritates me because ive done nothing wrong. i tried to explain to him i'm sorry about the situation and that i really do like coming here with my pet but he really made me uncomfortable and panic thinking my pet is in danger or being mistreated after he states on phone come pick up your dog very aggressively. he stated he was having a bad day already and that my pet just made it worse and i feel bad cause my pet is old and she has nothing to do with this. he brought luna out and was like she looks good right. and it just makes me uncomfortable even more cause it's like i don't need all that extra stuff. im crying at this point frustrated trying to explain to him i wasn't trying to talk to him any way and he really did not just give one F but he did not give two Fs lol his face said it all he did not care about the situation he just wanted to get rid of me and have me pay. i will no longer be coming here due to the professionalism that was not displayed today. Saturday May 10th i receive a instagram message from rich groomer sarcastically stating that review i left was so good and that ive never written a good review but have been coming here for 2 years. i don't write reviews unless it need to be. who cares if i didn't write yall a good one but i was still coming to your shop bring my money and business to you guys is enough and better than a review. the page has been stalking my instagram page for 3 days now. until whoever runs the page finally messaged me to say all that non sense to me. again its really not professional. First let me start off with the fact I found out the original price was going to be 82 than my daughter told them he had mats and needed to be shaved. They quoted her 110. She told them from the beginning that he was a difficult cat and it was his first time. They told her no problem they have someone who specialized in cats that were difficult. She goes in and they tell her not to pay yet because they didn't want her to pay twice. So she called me stressing that she hoped they didn't charge her more. And I said you were honest about everything right she said yes. She goes back picks him up calls me to tell me I need to send her 40 more dollars I said what????? 150? For what? She said because they had to shave him and he was difficult. I said yeah but you told them that and they still quoted you. She said mom we will talk about it later. She gets home. Mind you we live just down the street. The cat looks awful. Also they told her it would be a 2 hour appt. It was 35 mins. So he couldn't have been that difficult. Also mind you HE HAS NO TEETH because he has a rare genetic disorder and we had to get them removed. I couldn't believe it. They took advantage of a teenager just trying to do what was right for her kitty. She only works one day a week. But she wanted to be responsible for her kitty. Mind you I'm a barber that specializes in difficult children. I don't have a fee for children who won't sit still or is hitting and smacking me. Also I work with sharp objections myself and risk a lawsuit if I cut the the child. But we will get back to that. So I called the girl and she proceeded to tell me it wasn't her fault because someone else price quoted her. I said ok before you started the procedure why did you not go over that with her and tell her there was going to be an overage? Why aren't you communicating with your coworkers. At my shop we never price quote in exact dollar we give a range. You didn't even give her a chance to say no. You took advantage of her being a teenager. Maybe you didn't think she would tip so you decided to add. But telling me "working with kids is different you don't have to worry about shaving their privates or being bitten and scratched" no I just have to worry about being hit and smacked. Having kids grab stuff out of my hand when I'm close to their face with open shears. Your animals don't have a grip with paws. Plus they didn't even shave his "private" parts. They didn't even bath him. 150 for a shave and nail trim. Than she proceeding to tell me that he was trying to bite and scratch. He doesn't have teeth. I thought you specialize in difficult cats? Everyone knows cats are hard. So start your base off higher. Instead of ripping them off last min. Than I look at the cat and I'm mortified. I could have done a better job. There is lines all over the fur. It is completely uneven. The whole thing was a flop. Don't go here for cats. Which sucks because I have 5 purebred mainecoons and thought if she had a good experience. Now I will be telling everyone. They didn't even try and compensate her. Instead they got defensive and tried to tell me how wrong I was. My friend went here I just found out with her little yorkie and had a bad experience too. read more

They were able to accommodate us by booking an appointment on such short notice. I really liked that the staff communicated with me if they had any issues or questions regarding grooming my dogs. Our dog Lilly has never been professionally groomed and today her whole 8 years of life was changed thanks to The Rich Groomer! The location is pretty good. It is located in a busy shopping center right next to a grocery store, convenience stores, restaurants, and other businesses. There is plenty of parking in the parking lot so that will not be an issue. It's also conveniently not too far from my home so it was a no brainer to come and try this groomer out. Luckily, they were able to squeeze us in for a grooming appointment on the same day. The entire grooming service only took about half an hour to do. The customer service here is top notch. The staff is very friendly and understanding. They will treat your pets like royalty to make them feel comfortable. The staff here at Rich Groomer do an excellent job using their creativity to make the pets look good. I was surprised they were able to cut my dogs nails so well because it is very difficult for me to do it at home. The prices are about average with the competition. For the basic/general grooming services, you should be able to walk out of here for about $65. The quality of service and final product far surpasses the price you pay. I almost didn't even recognize my dog! She looked like someone traded in my dog for a new, slimmer, and better looking one. When we arrived to pick her up, we found them walking our dog which was awesome. This was my dog's first time coming to a professional groomer so it was nice to know she was well taken care of. The little pink bows they added on her head was just the final icing on the cake. Not to mention this small business loves to also do amazing things for community outreach. Every second Sunday they barbecue for the neighborhood and make a effort to really get to know their friends and family here in Natomas. We will be back!
