Del Paso Grooming is truly a hidden gem for me and my furbabies! From start to finish, the whole team made the experience so positive and stress free. Heather was incredibly patient and calm with my big guy and you can tell she genuinely cares and wants both pets and owners to feel comfortable. My long-haired German Shepherd's grooming had unfortunately fallen to the back burner due to a rollercoaster ride of life, but Heather gave him the full works including working carefully through some matted areas and carefully shaved an area that needed it. It was not a rushed service by any means and I appreciated the time and care she gave him. He left looking so handsome and his fur was SO soft and fluffy. While I sat and waited for my dogs full service, I got to see and observe Butch with 4 other dogs and he was so attentive and sweet with the dogs he groomed. I got the chance to see him interact and groom 4 small dogs and he made it look effortless, one of them was giving him kisses and he just snuggled them back. It was really sweet to see that. Suzie at the front was kind and welcoming and was easy to talk to. She answered all my questions and definitely made me feel comfortable. Suzie was hopping back and forth between handling front desk needs, patients coming/going, and helping out with the groomers as needed. I think what surprised me the most was how all the dogs (even those waiting in the kennels) were calm and the place wasn't chaotic. I've been to other grooming places and it's always been stressful and the dogs look and or act like they're super nervous, or it's constant loud barking. Aside from my big guy "talking" it was chill. It's clear that Heather, Butch, and Suzie not only love what they do, but are really good at it too. This showed in the quality of their work and the warmth of their service. I'm so grateful to have found this mom-and-pop shop My 3 doggies will all be going here now oh and don't get me started on how they have the cutest and coolest bandana prints, lots of ribbons for those adorable ear bows or whale spouts, feathers (yes you read that right!!), and even HAIR TINSEL for the pets to get the vip treatment. Highly recommend Del Paso Grooming. My dog has been coming here for years! My dog has a very strange kind of fur, he's no regular Pomeranian and they are always able to groom him despite how difficult his fur can be. No other groomers were able to help him except for them! I had a confirmed appointment at 9:30am on a Saturday..of course they call ME to remind ME about the time and to have my dog there on time!! Well why did they NOT cut my dogs hair until 1:30 pm??? so he sat in that cage for four hours, waiting!! Then they rushed it because they close at 2pm??!!! They cut off his tassels, didn't cut his nails properly! He looks terrible!!!!! I called them twice to get an explanation, or at least an apology... And they still haven't returned my calls! I had an appointment at 12pm about a few days ago and we was good at the vet but when I went to the groomers at this location for the first time, instead of asking one of us to go back there when he was feeling uncomfortable. They had two people try to restrain him. he is a rescue so he doesn't like that. the lady had another woman and man try restraining him while clipping his nails and it scared him so he did what anyone scared dog would do, he bit her. he is never like that and has never bit anyone so I know they did something to him on the other side of the wall. they blamed him and said we couldn't go back. he started whining and trying to get out because he couldn't see us and he freaked out. they did not ask the important questions before starting and blamed us for that. If y'all really knew about these people's past and things they say behind your backs, you'd think twice about taking your beloved fur babies to Del Paso Grooming (DPG). They've managed to remove my reviews and photos. I don't know how they do it because EVERYTHING written is TRUTH, either experienced by me, seen by me, or heard by me from THE BIG MAN HIMSELF, Butch. Butch likes to talk. His wife stays silent and will shoot him a certain look which means, "zip it", like when Butch was telling me about his meth use past, after I'd shared my brother had done the drug. You only need to look and talk with him to see for yourself. He'll also talk about his "show dog training" which is ALL talk as I've never seen anything proving he was ever formally trained (like the staff). Heather is cunning. Butch isn't all there. They've allowed people to buy their lies and make their business flourish. However, once their heads (and cash influx) are adequately inflated, they won't take the slightest critique, criticism, untruths relayed by "staff" (doing the Covid shuffle to and from car) or missed appointment...then, Heather WILL VIOLATE COVID SAFETY and have her "staff" tell you "they want you to come inside", which I wasn't dressed for, or prepared for...as I was actually on call to Funeral Home finalizing arrangements to see/cremate my deceased brother, on my cell which syncs to my hearing aides! AND, I was wearing an arm cast from hand to elbow on my dominate hand!! Yep!! Kicked me when I was down and not expecting this unprofessional pettiness. I paid the total (Heather pointed to) and gave the usual tip (every two weeks), and then, with staff (Tiffany, another staff liar, and self described "bitch") standing just behind, but near Heather, Heather (with zero, blank affect) said I needed to find another groomer. Still on phone, pointing to my aides (they know I'm hearing impaired), I am stunned. What? I never complained about their errors!! Butch had called shortly after I dropped Sam off, full blown manic, screaming, accusing me of saying GOD KNOWS WHAT (well, Tiffany does, because she's who picked up Sam, took him inside, and told Heather and Butch some good smelly bull**** lie(s) which I STILL don't know to this day, nor do I care. I don't care what these people think of me and their sad, repeated attempts to scare me into removing my reviews don't work and never will. Now, I know they will no doubt work with Yelp to have this post removed (if you leave a negative review, ALWAYS save it so you can just copy and paste it back up). These nuts don't take criticism well at all and work VERY hard at hiding WHO they are, and their "past lives" (BOTH PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL). They simply wipe out anything they don't want their customers to know, even if it's true..ESPECIALLY if it's true!! Anyway!! One door closes and another opens. Sam has found a professionally trained, certificated, highly accredited and skilled groomer and all-around AWESOME GUY!!!! It took Sam a very long time time to grow out his hair after being BUTCHered so severely (and therefore, my anger over what happened was slow to heal, as well), and, there is one patch shaved so much it hasn't grown back (another reminder). I'm hoping my posts (3) and updates stay up as they are the TRUTH, and maybe I can stop another dog, and doggy owner from going through what Sam (and I) did!! My dog is very skittish (ie he tries to jump off the table) so I'm glad I found Del Paso Grooming. It usually takes two people to trim his nails, one to hold and calm him while the other person works on his nail. The price for nail trimming is $10 which is very reasonable. No appointments needed for nails and I usually never have to wait. There's always lots of parking available. I took him to his Sunday eleven o' clock appointment, dropped him off, and waited for them to call me to pick him up. (They don't groom your dog on the spot.) The average waiting time is three hours. When I picked him up, he looked like a completely new dog! His coat was entirely shaven, which is just perfect for the upcoming Summer season; add to that they trimmed his nails, too. This place is awesome! I had been grooming my dog for a couple years but can never get her cut as clean as a groomer and I hate how long some places keep them. So I called Del Paso Grooming after reading some of the reviews and they were able to get my pup in the next day! I dropped her off in the morning and she was done in less than 2 hours. She was cut perfectly (I hate when places just shave your dog) and she was as happy as a clam. I was shocked at how fast they got her done and I got 10% off my first visit. Beyond happy with the service here and I will definitely be bringing my baby back here. The staff is also super friendly and I appreciate them taking care of my baby. I found this place on yelp and booked an apt for my border collie mix to get groomed. It would be his first grooming! I was able to easily get a spot for Tuesday morning. The place is on the outskirts of downtown and has plenty of parking. The inside is small and simple. The staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They did really well with my dog. One of the groomers even came out to "get to know" my dog before I left. He sat with him and petted him. That's never happened before! I've taken my lab to petsmart and they just do the normal hand off. The price is very reasonable! I will definitely be returning. read more

This was my first time scheduling to have my two yorkies groomed at Del Paso Grooming and I will never schedule with them again. I had to schedule an appointment more than a month in advance and asked my vet to send the groomer my dogs vaccination records, which they assured me they had done. When I arrived at Del Paso Grooming, I was treated as if I was a real annoyance to them and I was trying to pull a fast one. They told me they never received my dog's vaccination records so they could not groom my dogs. I told them that my vet assured me she had emailed them to the email address on their business card. The gal at Del Paso Grooming told me the email address on their business cards was the wrong email address and it probably wasn't even active anymore. I called my vet and asked if they could email it directly to me, which she did. I handed my phone to the gal at Del Paso Grooming, she looked at the records, and then she told me expired in 2018 and my dogs were not current on their shots. I told her there is no way that was accurate because I take my dogs to the vet a couple times a year and always get their shots whenever they are due. She told me the records my vet sent show them as expired and that they had other people waiting outside to bring their dogs in (one at a time because of Covid) so I needed to leave. I called my vet and told them what had happened and they said my dogs are current and the documents they emailed to me show them as current. They told me they would call the groomer and then call me right back. When they called me back they told me the groomer was reading the document wrong but once it was explained to her she admitted she had been wrong. My vet told them they needed to call me back to get me back in there right away, but the groomer never bothered. Obviously, this is a busy groomer and it looks like they are so busy, they could care less about my business or me as a person or even my dogs. They never bothered to call and apologize or to try rectifying their mistake. What a hassle! And to be treated the entire time like I'm trying to pull a fast one was just rude and disrespectful. read more

Our normal groomer was booked, so I scheduled an appointment here for 9AM and thought I would have my dog back by around noon. I never received a call from them, but had to head out of town by 1pm, so I showed up there at 12:30pm and they had just started working on my dog. They had him waiting in a crate for over 3.5 hours, even though I had an appointment. When I saw that they weren't done with him, I rushed them and they did an okay job. The haircut was uneven, but at least my dog was groomed. If you don't mind your dog sitting in a cage for hours, this place is okay. Price was reasonable, but my dog got brushed off because they wanted to work on dogs from the shelter that they probably have a contract with. That kind of sucked for my dog, since I scheduled an appointment for him and he still had to wait. read more

Once again, it would pay to google all your businesses before plunging into services. One such article reflected my experience: I tried them once, went back to see if I missed something, and suffer guilt for the rough, abusive treatment my pet had to endure. They did not "wet" shampoo my dog, the place is so dirty the dog came back with FLEAS. Ever been so petrified by rough behaviour it caused you to FREEZE? While grooming my pet, they ripped a comb through his DRIED matted HAIR with one tough jerk, under the chin, under the arms, so that my pet screamed (yelped). She asked me if I'd like to have them pull the hair out of his ears, when I finally woke up ! She showed me the hemastats they jam into the ears, grasp all the ear hairs in the ear canal, and she explained, would continue to twist the hair, and pull out, all at once, a LOT of hair. Don't the dogs scream? I asked. SURE they do, she answered. Evidently the limbs of these animals mean nothing to them... lifting front legs as if they needed to be pulled up 90' to do a thorough job under the arms! I'm surprized my dog didn't suffer from stress fractures. If YOUR DOG SHIVERS and SHAKES and BEGS you NOT to LEAVE him/her at the groomers, RUN away. Then find a mobile groomer or someone who you can WATCH for yourself. Do NOT leave your family pet unattended until you are 100% sure these people can be trusted. And for a high $40.00 I paid, I thought they would be 'good". Money does not buy you kind, thorough, gentle grooming. These people are terrible. read more

A diamond on Del Paso Blvd. I was a frist time customer today, referred here by my co worker.. desperate to get my cocker spaniel a hair cut (she was looong over due and everywhere else was booked) they were able to get her in today. Grateful for that, I made an appt. I no sooner got home, and they called to tell me they couldn't finish grooming her, (for obvious health and safety reasons) because they found a ruptured anal gland. I rush back there on the verge of tears feeling like a terrible "doggy mom" because I didn't know, and my dog didn't outwardly show any symptoms of discomfort. They were SOOOO supportive,reassuring and informative. One of the groomers took the time to draw me a diagram of the situation, and explained everything. I took my dog to my vet immediately, and thankfully it was a small rupture. Long story short, because they were able to get my dog in today, this situation was found early and corrected quickly. They were so concerned about my dog, asked me to call back to let them know how it worked out at the vet. They safely shaved the rest of her down as best they could, considering the situation and gave her a flea treatment for $35. What was impressive was that they stopped and took the time, to explain everything, and were more concerned about my dogs' well being than anything else. On a busy Saturday? they paid that much attention to me and my dog..that was so comforting. It's a small place tucked on the corner of Del Paso Blvd..but they're the diamond on Del Paso..
