Had an evening in Calgary before catching a flight and made a reservation for dinner here. We had…read morethe duck fat fries, schnitzel (was a special the evening we were there), halibut, and chocolate au pain. Everything was delicious and the halibut was especially refreshing. Our server Sydney was attentive and very good at describing the menu and answering any questions we had. We would recommend to anyone in the area.

The duck & waffles was a confit duck leg, vanilla liege waffles, foie gras gravy with a bistro salad that had a yuzu vanilla vinaigrette. Duck was delicious. I liked the salad, but honestly felt that the vanilla in the vinaigrette would be best removed. However, that's my personal opinion. The waffles were... ok. It was like eating cake and bits of sugar. I mentioned to the server that the waffles had chunks of sugar in them, but she said that they were sugar coated. To be honest, I'm not convinced. there was chunks of white sugar, not a glaze...In the waffle itself. And the batter was very heavy, thick and cake like. Not the best waffles. French toast was great, very filling and delicious. It has a foie gras caramel, maple pecans, maple caramelized apples, whipped cream cheese and back bacon. This can easily be your new favourite. My mimosa was amazing, best mimosa I've honestly ever had. Americano wasn't really anything special, especially for $6. While it was a decent breakfast, I don't think I would order waffles again from here unless they change their recipe. I was also a little disappointed they didn't have more than 2 flavours of latte. I don't think I would return with the competition that's out there, but it wasn't bad.

Service was outstanding and the food amazing! As with all steak places we did not think the ribeye…read morewas prime (but probably choice) but it was still cooked perfectly and the peppercorn sauce was delicious. We had the black olive tapenade with crostini and the pea ravioli. It had a kiss of mint in the filling and a light butter sauce with micro greens sprinkled on top. I would have eaten 2 of those plates! We got the potato gratin instead of the pomme frites with our rib eye. It was all delicious. The waiter recommended some red wine and it too was delicious! Can't say enough about how great this place is. It was pricey-$200 with 3 glasses of wine. But I would definitely go back. Just go!

No in between. Eating out is expensive. I'd rather bail out of a mediocre experience pre-order than suffer through a middling experience. We only have so much time on the planet, right? And I too am a hungry ghost, haunting various cities and exploring the cultural and edible scenes. Oh. Right. Cassis. What can I say? If this place was up the street from me I'd be blowing through my kids 529 accounts on this delectable menu and incredibly friendly vibe. Feels like a hidden gem in The Marias. You know, just off the beaten path of L'al du falafel? Anyhow, this place gets it. The baguette? Crispy. The butter? Enough fat content to my my cardiologist blush. The steak frites? Perfect. And the scallop ceviche? Well, I almost moved my family to Calgary just to be near it.... Almost. Service was 1st class. Congratulations to this establishment for not underdoing or OVERdoing the French vibe. C'est parfait!
