Ambra jokingly commented during the reception that she needed either myself (MOB) or the bride to have a meltdown about something but there was NOTHING to meltdown about. No detail was overlooked. We showed up, we partied and had NOTHING to worry about. The decor was PHENOMENAL. I expected typical bland wedding food, and it was actually SO good! Multiple people told me how great it was. The cakes were perfect & delicious... NOT your typical dry wedding cake. The Roots staff were super accommodating to our additional vendors. They were incredible with my last minute changes & additions. I couldn't have been happier with the way my daughter's wedding turned out. I could NOT have executed this anywhere else without their help! I can't think of a single thing that could have been better or I would have changed. I'm so grateful for all of their help and everything they did to create such a beautiful day!!

When it finally did, it was missing nearly every ingredient except the lettuce, steak, and a single sliced cherry tomato. By the time the kitchen was remaking my salad, the rest of my family was already halfway through their meals. Our waitress continued checking on us and seemed genuinely concerned, but the issue clearly wasn't being prioritized in the kitchen. After my husband asked to speak with a manager, my salad arrived within five more minutes. The manager approached with a lengthy series of apologies but didn't really give us an opportunity to explain the situation. The most frustrating part? The salad was still missing two ingredients. When I pointed that out, he initially pushed back, insisting it wasn't possible because the chef had personally prepared it. At that point, my family had finished eating, so I packed the salad to go. Was the salad worth the wait? Surprisingly, yes. Once it was finally assembled correctly, it was very good. What still puzzles me is that the dish requiring the least amount of cooking at our table was the one that took the longest to prepare correctly. Would I return or recommend it to others? Yes, but with reservations. The food has a lot of potential, and the appetizers alone are worth trying. The noise level was extremely high...we literally had to yell just to have a conversation with each other. Service was also very slow. It took about 15 minutes just to be acknowledged at the bar, and close to 30 minutes to actually receive a drink. When I finally ordered, I told the bartender to make her favorite drink. She made something that included raw egg whites (which I later learned is common in certain cocktails), but it wasn't mentioned or explained at the time. A few hours later, I became very sick...vomiting and dealing with what felt like severe food poisoning all night and through the next 24 hours. After looking into it, I suspect it may have been related to the raw egg used in the drink. Just something to be aware of if you're ordering drinks like a whiskey sour or anything that may include egg whites. After getting our receipt (which you need for the speakeasy entry code), we checked out the speakeasy portion, but the vibe there wasn't great either..pretty must the same as the other part of the bar. We ended up leaving within about five minutes. Overall, the experience didn't live up to the hype for us....between the noise, long wait times, and how we were treated, it just wasn't enjoyable. For comparison, the bar next door, Archibald, felt much more welcoming. Maybe regulars have a different experience, but as first-time guests, we were not impressed.
