I recently had the opportunity to tour the Trinity River Distillery, and it was a delightful experience The exterior has some neat murals, and an inviting patio. The day we visited there were food trucks and other events. They also had live music on the patio They offer tours of the distillery, which I would very much recommend. You can purchase tickets online. While you wait in their cozy lounge area, go up to the bar and try one of their signature (or classic) cocktails. The cocktails at the bar are tasty and fun. The gin is their best seller, and it was honestly my favorite. I would also recommend their old fashion The tour was very interesting. You start in a large drinking hall where everyone has covered tasting samples. Each sample has information provided, and there is plenty of water to keep you hydrated and to cleanse the palate. The tour guide walks you through the tastings, and provides some history and other information. When we went we tasted their vodka, 1800s Bourbon, honey whiskey, their gin, and another whiskey. After the tasting you walk through the distillery and get a tour of where the magic happens (stills, filtration, labs, storage, etc). The operation is truly incredible, and the tour offers a variety of great picture-taking moments with beautiful pieces of equipment, walls lined with wooden barrels, and neon novelty signs Some tips: They frequently do events, and you can see their schedule online. They had a Father's Day promo code when we went that got Dad's in for free. They also had a cigar vendor and lounge that gave away cigars to dads. It was pouring rain when we arrived, the walk from the parking lot to the front door isn't covered, so, plan accordingly. We almost didn't go, because this cool little spot is a little hidden in what looks like an industrial area, but I'm so glad we did. The tasting room is modern and inviting and the outside space is like a little oasis tucked away between industrial area and freeway, but in a way where you forget that surrounding. It won't let me put 10 stars but that's what this distillery deserves. This was a late birthday gift, since I've never experienced a tasting and tour of a distillery. Our tour guide Connor was excellent. He showed us how to really appreciate and enjoy the tastings and gave us an in depth great tour. He also recommended a drink, based off what we liked the most. Order the smoked old fashion with bourbon and you won't regret a single drop. The atmosphere was wonderful and our 1 hour birthday gift turned into 5 hours of fun, thanks to the people we met and the bartenders who took great care of us. This is not in a good area of town, in-fact it is about a mile from a homeless shelter and its just not a place I like to drive in, however, this is in a factory area where the old Ranch beans were made, they have a guard house at the entrance and it is surrounded by a high gate so your car is safe while you are in the distillery. I recently went to Trinity River Distillery for a tour on a date with my husband. I am unfortunately on a knee scooter right now and the tour has three sets of stairs. I was fine and just hopped up the stairs and my husband carried my scooter but it did make me think how many people have injuries and may not be able to hop as easily as I could. If you are injured or just lack the mobility to use stairs they do not have a lift so be aware you can go into the main area but I wouldn't recommend the tour. If you are able bodied or able to hop up flights of stairs I would recommend the tour. I like whiskey so obviously I would like a tour about whiskey, there was a woman on the tour with her boyfriend and she mentioned she hated whiskey, she did not seem to enjoy the tour as much. If you are going to Trinity River Distillery just for a "bar" meet up that you do not need to like whiskey as they also make vodka. You can bring your non whiskey friends here and they will be able to still get a drink. The vibe of this place is an industrial+ modern farmhouse. The patio is beautiful, whoever did that clearly had big venue ideas. When I saw it I told my husband that it would be such a beautiful wedding venue but then we laughed as a wedding in a distillery may not be great as one drunk can ruin a wedding much less a whole guest list. That being said, look at this place for birthdays or reunions, it truly is pretty. When we arrived we checked in at the bar and the bartender was great, he offered suggestions and was very friendly. (For management he was working Saturday night around 5pm). This bartender was great and told us a little about the smoke for the smoked old fashioned I ordered. Sorry this took me some months to write. Life moves so fast. So we had our wedding here back in March. We decided to hire Shaun to help coordinate the wedding and make sure everything was smooth sailing. Y'all, we had a fabulous time. Shaun and everybody where phenomenal, couldn't have asked for better. Shaun coordinated with everybody and took care of absolutely everything. Of course things go wrong at weddings and Shaun didn't break a sweat. Oh you forgot your song to walk down the isle too, (we really did) he handled it within seconds. We had fabulous bartenders and workers. Everybody was having such a great time. I honestly wish time would have slowed down just a little bit. Drinks will set you back at $12 each, but this ain't beer brother...and this high-maintenance chick was happy. Bluebonnet and whiskey crush cocktails were delish. Fresh blueberries smashed into the drinks. Saturday at 1 was busy but the bar service was very attentive. We didn't do the tour. Just came by at a whim. What a great time we had at Trinity River Distillery! We arrived a little early and enjoy a couple of drinks outside at one of the picnic tables. We were able to bring our drinks with us on the tour. It was kinda short but our tour guide was very knowledgeable and funny. They have a bar Thurs-Sat and you can, wait for it....Bring your own FOOD!!! I did not know that before our tour otherwise I would have brought food. There were plenty of people though that they could have had a few food trucks...but, oh well! we had lunch before hand so that we didn't get too tipsy. They use 100% rain water to make their products. They also support to veterans and are veteran owned! USA!!! Go take a tour and rent this place out for your wedding and invite me! Very nice, historical building. It used to be the old Ranch Style Bean factory. They have kept a lot of its history charm. They have a small, private parking lot but lots of space for parking. We received the tour on a Friday at 7pm which is awesome because most other tours seem limited to Saturdays. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. My husband and I weren't terribly impressed with their whiskey. However, their drinks made with their very own whiskey (honey) or vodka are quite affordable. They have a tasting/bar room which is quite accommodating for large groups and crowd. They also have a beautiful patio with games for all to enjoy. Definitely worth a try! read more

Came here to check out the bar area, which is actually very nice. I ordered an Old Fashioned which I don't think was suppose to be a classic OF but with their twist on it. Thought I wasn't impressed with it, it was served with multiple ice cubes rather than one big one, the bartender garnished it with an orange slice rather than peel and it just didn't taste like an old fashioned. Also as I'm drinking the drink direct from the distillery, I would have expected the whiskey to be poured from the the actual glass bottle, I never saw the whiskey go in - it was all plastic containers. Shortly after we arrived a tour group finished filling the bar area, and the merchandise store open which was previously locked (I never got to look at the merch as either it was too busy with the tour group or locked) and it appeared groupon customers got a free glass whereas I overheard regular full paying customers complaint they got nothing. read more

We got tickets through Groupon and were very happy with the price. We arrived and found the bar area packed with people. After we grabbed some drinks for the tour it started with about 35 people on our tour. Our tour guide was Tyler and he was great. He explained the inner workings of the distillery, walked us through different portions and then to the tasting area. We tasted the Vodka, Whiskey and then the Honey Liqueur. I'll admit that our favorite was definitely the Honey Liqueur! After the tastings were done we headed down to the Gift Shop picked up our 2 free whiskey glasses, bought some Honey Liqueu and a wood wick candle. Overall it was a great time with a bunch of peeps we didn't know. We will definitely be back to the bar for date night. read more

I found this through Groupon. Sometimes they say if you pay Groupon prices, you get Groupon service. SO. NOT. TRUE. HERE. I thought everything was wonderful. The ambiance was inviting and relaxing with large leather couches and some outdoor tables and corn hole. We arrived for our tour early so hit the bar. All of us wanted an old fashioned and we had an idea to have a taste test and have each bartender make one and we would vote on a winner. We had fun, they had fun. You could tell that the people that work there really love their job, love their product and want you to have a great time. That extended to the tour. Our guide was very informative and the behind the scenes part was fun, especially hearing how an old factory was turned into the distillery. Fair warning, if you hate the heat, don't go in summer. A few of the rooms were really warm, but I expected as much. The kicker was this is probably the nicest tasting environment of any distillery/distillery tour I have ever been on. Normally you stand around and sip out of plastic medicine cups. This was a really nice dining room set up for ~50 with samples laid out in front of you when you walk in. It was informative, but very hot, and there were a few flies/mosquitoes around inside. I was thinking they need an ac for that tour during hot months aka March thru December. The tasting was brief but our guide told us some more info and I liked their regular whiskey and vodka. I really liked their higher proof batch the best. The bar is a great idea! We ordered two drinks and they really felt thrown together. I was hoping the blueberry smash would actually have blueberry flavor but there were just a few blueberries thrown in. I think muddled would have been great. I love the concept of a bar in the distillery but think the plain shots are true stars. I have a new favorite place called Trinity River Distillery. We came here on a tasting tour and I'm happy we did. The tour was very interesting. And the tasting afterward was wonderful. I really like tasting the different types of spirts they sale before you buy them. Silver Star is the name on the bottle and they have Whiskey and Vodka at this time. I liked all the different ones we tasted after the tour. We got there a bit early before the tour. So we went to the bar had a drink while we waited. The place is set up very nicely with plenty of seating big sofas and bar tables. And a large outdoor area to hang out in as well. They have all their liquor for sell and they have a bunch of different mix drinks they will make for you. I had Vodka tonic which I like. The service was very friendly and helpful. Fun atmosphere I will sure be back. They are open late and they are a cool place to check out and have a drink. read more

A surprising place near the Trinity River (naturally), the Trinity River Distillery is great place for a fun night out...we went for the tour (and the group was rather large), but you do get a souvenir glass afterward (if you get the Groupon) and you will definitely be tempted to buy a bottle or two from them afterwards. The bar in the main room is pretty good, serving up some flavorful drinks. One star is subtracted though, for the immensely long line and the very long time it took the bartenders to actually make the drinks. But since this is an overall review, the tour was quite fun, and it was interesting to see all the equipment and storage areas for all the beverages made by the distillery. read more

My husband and I went on a tour here as part of a date day we planned. The location is a bit difficult to find but after booking our tour, I received an email with PERFECT directions on how to find the building. Once we got there we were welcomed and everyone was so nice and positive. The mixed drinks were delicious, the patio was very nice and fun and the tour was great! The best date night I've had in a while with my husband all started here! You get there and are given about 20 minutes to chill at their bars and order cocktails with their alcohols made there. I got a whiskey-rita and fell in LOVE. We had our drinks while playing cornhole in their cute outdoor seating area by the bar. It was such a homey feel! Everyone had a blast. The tour was very interesting and to top it off, you get to taste a whole flight of whiskey shots at the end. There's even an option to taste a bourbon that is super strong.. the proof was really high but why not. I went for it. Burned so good. Nice tour. I didn't partake in the tasting, but my husband said the honey whiskey was nice. Just be forewarned, parts of the tour are not air conditioned. We went on a day that was slightly over 100 degrees. For me, the non-air conditioned parts were bearable but my husband was a bit warm. Also, be advised that the tour does not start on time. We made sure to be there before the tour start time. We were greeted by the guide (nice touch) but he shared that they typically start tours 15 minutes later to accommodate the stragglers. read more

The historical building and interior are nice - real potential to be a cool place to hang out, like their neighbors at Wild Acre Brewing. The tour, while it seems very rushed, was informative and entertaining. I've been to others that go deeper into the processes. The spirits in the tasting room were good, but small samples. Since there is only 3 products, it would have been nice to taste the mad dog they first produce, or the products through different stages... The bar are, again, had the potential to be a nice place to hang - but they need someone with real bar experience to revamp their cocktails, and train the bartenders. An Old Fashioned, typically, isn't made with simple syrup and a wedge of orange... I wanted to like/love the bar - but I'd have better luck making drinks at home. They need someone in the bar that knows their craft like their distillers do. There is a lot of potential there. read more

We couldn't have asked for a better experience for my bachelor party. Yes as some reviews say, the tour isn't the longest. But honestly are you going to actually learn the ins and outs of whiskey or just see some cool equipment that makes delicious whiskey? Our tour guide, Nate, made our experience fantastic!
