Fantastic Family Fun -- and Beware of the Claw Machines! For our grandson's 9th birthday, we decided to venture to Cidercade Fort Worth, and what a fantastic choice! Admission was $12 per person, and nearly all the arcade games are included with admission. Play as much as you want! We easily spent 3-4 hours here, and everyone had a great time. With the Texas temperatures blazing outside, an air-conditioned arcade was also a pretty darn good place to spend the afternoon! There is a huge selection of games with plenty for both kids and adults. Basketball, racing, classic arcade games--you can wander around for hours. Then my son-in-law discovered the claw machines. Once he started, it snowballed into stuffed toy after stuffed toy. By the time he was finished, we had enough stuffed animals spread across the table to open our own toy store! Be warned, though: the claw machines are NOT included with admission and you pay separately to play. Apparently nobody bothered explaining that to my son-in-law before he went into full claw-machine domination mode! We also ordered pizza, and it was very good. It's a thin-crust style, loaded with toppings and made for a perfect break between games. Of course, with a name like Cidercade, we had to sample the cider! There were plenty of choices, and the ones we tried were very good. For $12 admission and several hours of entertainment, I think Cidercade is an outstanding value. More importantly, our grandson had a fantastic birthday outing and the entire family enjoyed themselves. 4 Stars? Let me tell you why. Cidercade Fort Worth is one of those places that is just a lot of fun. The atmosphere is unique, and the combination of old school arcade games with a mix of newer games makes it easy to lose a couple of hours here. There is a really good variety, so whether you are into classic arcade nostalgia or something newer, there is plenty to keep you entertained. The food was another pleasant surprise. Everything we tried was really tasty, and considering the affordable pricing overall, it makes for a pretty budget friendly outing. The Fort Worth location is also convenient, which makes it an easy spot to add to a day or evening out. My biggest complaint is that it can get pretty crowded, especially during busier times, which takes away from the experience a little when you are trying to play some of the more popular games. Also, if you are visiting during the Texas summer, be prepared for it to get hot inside. With all the people, games, and activity, the temperature can definitely become noticeable. So my first ever cidercade experience was at this location for a meetup my older kid had with some friends that had moved over here. That visit we had an off putting initial exchange with the guy doing check in; who told my kid to throw away their plastic water bottle. I offered to put it in my bag cause they needed it for some medications theg were taking at the time but the only options was leave it at the bar, toss it, or take it to the car and get a free water from the food station. I get not wanting spills but both the cider cups and water cups offer no lids and my kids water had a lid and could go in a bag. I think we caught this guy on a bad day because we have not had that issue again. Though we learned our lesson and if we had a water we stuck it in my bag. At another locations they explained they are actually fine with water bottles ... They ask just don't be obvious about it...just don't want people bringing in things like starbucks drinks or sonic drinks that take away from their drink sales or could be sneaking in something that could cost them their serving license. We came out to Cidercade in Ft Worth since I've mainly gone to the one in Arlington. This location has a ski-ball option as part of its open play. There are some pay as you go claw machines. My one complaint is that one of my kids favorite games ... a ninja turtle game ... is in a pay as you go. At all 3 other locations we've been too it's included in open play. We came here to cap off a day of bonding before the first day of work. I've been to the one in Houston. This was my first time at the Fort Worth location. There truly is something for everyone. $12 is all you need. You get unlimited games all day. There is much variety. There's plenty of co-op games. There's also plenty of solo games. For me, I'm a big fan of pin-ball and they did not disappoint in that department. There were about five rows with about 6 machines each. No high score though for me so I think there may be something faulty with the machines that day. There's also a good selection of food. Work was paying so I went ahead and got the truffle pizza. So ended up at this place to hang out with some friends on a Saturday at 5pm , my first suggestion is don't go until 8pm when it's 21 and up cause when it's full of kids it's super annoying lol. Alright not I understand it's literally called Cidercade but I was really surprised they don't have anything else at all, not even beer. We decided to do a company outing, and Cidercade won the most votes. Upon arrival, they have a parking lot in the front that was full since it was around 5:00pmish on a Friday. I didn't feel like street parking since you do tread into the residential area if it gets super packed. Luckily, I found some parking in the back of the building next to Splinters Axes & Ales. This place surely exceeded my expectation. Think arcade, food, and cider! The foodie in me would talk about the grub first. Their 10" thin-crust pizzas were delicious. I love how they have the flexibility of substituting the crust to either gluten-free or cauliflower for an extra free. The margherita pizza was light, flavorful, and yummy. The meat lover's pizza was on the drier side, but just as good. One of my coworkers was not a fan of pizza in general, so she opted for the cinnamon roll pizza that was a little too sweet for her palate. They also offer salads if you are avoiding carb overload. As for drinks, I had the unlimited soda, but in reality could only finish one cup of soda. Let's talk about the games. I had loads of fun playing Pac-Man and basketball arcade. Be prepared for pinball machines, pool tables, etc. The machines may look like you need tokens or coins, but the games are unlimited with the admission fee. Now this is an arcade! When I first heard of Cidercade I was cautiously optimistic that a place would finally get the bar-arcade concept right and I think they did here. For those that have fond memories of the arcades of their youth, all the classics are here: Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter 2, Double Dragon, Rampage, Pac-Man, Galaga, and more. There are plenty of shooter and racing games as well, both old and new. They have pinball, pool tables, and air hockey as well. Most importantly, there are places to actually set your drink between each arcade game unit, an area where other bar-cade concepts have failed. I really do like their concept here as well - 12 dollars for all you can play. Gone are the days of continuously plugging in quarters or tokens, so you're at liberty to try all the games you want. Cidercade Fort Worth is set in an old warehouse off 8th - nice to see these old buildings get second life and it makes for a good fit here, as this place is massive. You'll walk through two smaller rooms from the front entrance, still filled with games, before you get to the main area that has the bar, pizza ovens, and patio access. The pizzas too, are actually quite good. They churn these things out in 10-15 minutes and I think that is by design. Won't win any awards, but solid thin crust pizza and I found the special Chicken Parm to be to my liking. I don't drink cider much, but they do have plenty of choices to keep things fresh for you there as well. I had been hesitant to come to the place because I'm not a fan of ciders. My friend was having her son's birthday party here, so we had the opportunity to try it out. Since this is an all you can play arcade, there is a cover charge for everyone, I believe it was around $12. They give you different wrist bands depending on your age. The inside is much, much larger than it looks on the outside. There are games to suit everyone's interests. They also have ski ball, air hockey (the table is awful though), shuffle board, and basketball. There is a small outside area with some tables and the chairs are actually swings. Really cute! There are 2 bars, one when you first come in, and one in the back room. There is also a kitchen in the back room. I didn't go to that counter, so I'm not sure what all they have, but my friend ordered some pizza for the kids and it was really good! I will say that my opinion has changed about ciders. Y'all!!! This place was fun! Hubs and I took our son who is 6 on a Saturday around 12. Not too busy when we arrived and we were able to check the place out. It's huge. All the games you want are there. Once it got later as we stayed 4 hours it was busier and some games had a line waiting - Mario kart, Halo but that's because those are favorites. Visited on 6/25/23 as I had never been. Good to know that children under 4 are free. Cool, fun setup but OMG it was sooooo hot. Part of why we chose coming here was to go somewhere with 3 kiddos out of the heat. All 5 of us were miserably hot and sweating.
