I took a quick getaway to a lake house cottage and decided to check this place out on my drive back home. I got a Carmel apple coffee hot blended drink and it was amazing! So much flavor! I also got the everything bagel breakfast sandwich and it was very good as well. The bagel was very soft and the sausage, spinach and cheese was made perfectly. It really hit the spot and I wish they were closer to me so I could go more often. I just checked the menu to refresh my memory about my drink, and it looks like their specialty drinks change seasonally and the new drinks look amazing too! read more

Love, love, love this big-little coffee house tucked away in the teeny tiny town of North Webster. I was born and raised in this town so it was a very nostalgic feeling walking into this cafe. Located in the "castle" of town, this gigantic building was built like a castle and housed a shoe store for eons! I believe that store still exists but now the River is located in a good section of the castle. There is plenty of seating, tables and chair and couches, barstools and counters - pretty much seating for any type of work. Whether there professionally for a meeting or casually for a quick chat with a friend. It was very comfy and inviting. They have a large array of coffee options available. They are a lot of syrup flavors available, including several sugar-free options. I enjoyed an Iced Americano with a splash of 1/2 'n 1/2 and some sugar-free caramel syrup - for only $3! You won't find that price at Starbucks! I didn't try their anything from their food menu, as I was just picking up a quick drink, but it look delicious. They serve breakfast items and lunch options. I drive by here several times a year when we go to the nearby Girl Scout camp and always say I'm going to stop by and never do. Finally stopped by today and I've been missing out. The Spiced Blended Chai is great for a hot summer day and the large cute atmosphere is a wonderful place to hangout or to work. They also have board games to play if you are stuck in a rain storm. Hands down one of the best coffee shops in K county! Cozy and comfy atmosphere paired with amazing coffee. My go to order is a cold brew with sugar and cream and this was by far one of the best cold brews I've had. Even though I'm from Warsaw the coffee is well worth the short drive to hang out with friends and get coffee with. Love how they have board games sitting out and large sectioned off spaces, definitely an inviting place. Love how they have a drive through as well. I really appreciated the eco friendly paper straw that was given, the reusable straws for sale, and all the little plants around, very eco friendly however I feel like it was no use since my drink was served in a plastic cup. I'm sure they'd let you use your own cup if you brought it with but I'd be really excited to see a eco friendlier cup for cold drinks. read more

Speaking with the owner we found out this great coffee shop has only been open a short time but the pastries and coffee they offer are top notch. They offer a place for kids to come and enjoy an open mic night, free movies or just chill with coffee or snacks in a nice inviting interior. There are a few items such as pottery that are for sale by local artists, check it out if you are nearby. This place has an easy going vibe and who knows, if you want to play the guitar or jam on the drums maybe you can come back for open mic night and share!! read more

So I take my coffee pretty seriously, I'd hate to call myself a snob about it, but if it quacks like a duck... With that being said, the folks at the River make a pretty dang good mocha. I like their one-size policy, too, it's big enough to pack the caffeine punch (or hey, just add another shot in there!) and small enough to where I can drink it all before it gets cold--a bad habit of mine. Their venue is also lovely, looks like they host live music sometimes and would be a great place to go read a book or study. All-in-all, a nice new addition to North Webster. read more

Place has really good coffee, seems like a medium to dark roast (just the coffee mind you), I've had a couple of their lattes and those are really good too. Only slight criticism is they don't have much in the way of baked goods. At least they haven't had much when I've gone in, just a couple of cookies and 1 type of muffin. (Maybe they were just really picked over? But it didn't look like they had much room for much else.) They do do like bagels and breakfast sandwiches which I haven't tried yet; I hope to soon. read more

I can not go on enough about how much I love this little place, the coffee is hands down the best in K county and while I moved from Warsaw to Indy I still miss The River and haven't found another coffee shop with coffee as good as them. I love how they always have new drinks and are trying some stuff that sometimes almost sound disgusting but actually taste amazing once you try it, I've yet to be disappointed by this shop. I also really love how nice and sweet the employees are, even though they're all mostly (I think) teenage high schoolers they're all fast and nice. Also, just the shop itself is so cozy and inviting. I know their dining area is open again but with COVID I haven't gone in much and boy do I miss it, it was the perfect place to fall into a comfy chair and read and listen to music or even bring a few friends and play board games with that they keep stocked in the corners of the room. It's quiet enough though to bring in a laptop and work if you want a change from your home office. Over all just an amazing perfect coffee shop that I can not recommend enough, enough so to where I'd be willing to drive from Indy to North Webster for! read more

It's new and still learning what do you want but they try very hard and do their best to get you what you need. They have a very attractive decor and they have WIFI. They can serve you a lunch if you want to do that. It's family-owned. It's a nice addition to Lansing. Coffee and baked goods are great. read more

Visiting my parents at their lake cottage on Dewart Lake a little over a week or so ago, along with my sister, niece and friend (all also visiting from out of state) and was referred to The River coffee house by a 'local'*, when we asked for a place with good coffee. The River Coffee House is a beautiful, inviting coffee house and welcoming, comfortable, spot for everyone. Ended up stopping in a few times during the course of the trip. They make a nice mocha and good lattes, hot or iced! They have almond milk for a nondairy option. Didn't partake in any food items. Counter staff, each time, were all super nice, efficient, cordial beautiful teens/youth. Got to meet and chat a bit with the effervescent, super nice owner/brilliant generous woman behind The River. I celebrate your vision and all your efforts. Fantastic addition of a safe, creative, delicious coffee house to North Webster and the awesomeness of lake life. You just have to go and support The River! *met the 'local' that referred us to The River at a 9am yoga class taught by the awesome Laura Eyer at the NW Community Center.
