I stopped in for lunch today and was seriously impressed! I ordered the strawberry protein smoothie with a glutamine add-in and the Asian salad, and both were absolutely bursting with flavor. The smoothie was super refreshing--perfectly sweet and creamy--and the glutamine gave it that extra boost I was looking for. The Asian salad totally surprised me in the best way. I almost asked for it without the wasabi peas, but I'm so glad I didn't--they ended up being one of my favorite parts! Crunchy, spicy, and the perfect contrast to the fresh veggies and dressing. Location is easy to find, connected to the Optimum Performance Sports (OPS) / Fort Wayne Orthopedics Facility. The owner was extremely friendly and took her time to explain the menu, which has many healthy options. The Greek salad was a bit too sweet for my taste, but authentic and fresh. The egg bowl was delicious, but the flavors blended together. The lemon chicken soup was amazing. The interior feels cozy and homey! I would love to try other menu items sometime. read more

Who knew they were here!? What a hidden find of fresh flavorful eats. They offer, salads, wraps, bowls and smoothies. Everything is made fresh to order and they are flexible with your dietary needs. Everything looked so good! Today I had the side house salad. Yum! Turkey bacon (or reg bacon), feta cheese, cranberries, red peppers on a mix of spinach and lettuce. This salad has hints of sweet, savory and salty. I opted for the zesty orange vinaigrette dressing...so good. The citrus compliments the cranberry, turkey bacon, feta perfectly. I also tried the avocado toast: Greek. There are several kinds offered here but I've never had a Greek avocado toast option so I jumped in. The Greek includes avocado, feta, black olives, tomato, and spinach and a Greek dressing. I mistakenly poured the dressing on the toast and let it sit. It made my toast soggy so make sure you eat it right away unlike me! I can't wait to come back to try the other avocado toast flavors! read more

I've been wanting to try this place for awhile looking for more healthy choices at lunch time. I finally found it attached to a fitness center deep into an office park behind the Trolley Bar! I got the Mediterranean shrimp wrap and it was very nice. The vegetables were all nice and crunchy and there was a nice portion of sauce without the wrap being dry or too soggy. The shrimp were cooked well. I wanted to try a smoothie but unfortunately they are all almond based - great for low cal and protein don't get me wrong, but not so great for an almond allergy. They looked really yummy. I removed one star because it was difficult to figure out how to order a drink there - the only drink menu I saw was for smoothies but they had some juices, water and coffee behind the counter but no prices listed. I stuck with water which was fine but really a coffee might have been nice too. Also, I had an issue where my wrap was starting to fall apart about half way through eating it so I felt like I couldn't set it down. I tried rewrapping it a few times and just became frustrated. It's a counter to order with some seating and looks kind of trendy. Place is clean but I do think they need to work on glove/utensil control especially for allergen management. It makes me wary to return but I'd give them another chance if I was very upfront about my allergy. read more

As a touring entertainer of a certain age (ahem) and a certain pants size (ahem, ahem), I am increasingly on the prowl for healthy eating options. Unfortunately I drive thru regions in this country that are one strip-mall after another where folks consider "vegetarian" to contain turkey (bien sur!) and salads come smothered under mayonnaise and sport ample amounts shredded cheddar cheese as per usual. So it was my distinct pleasure to discover SMPL. HERE they sport all wholesome ingredients and a fresh, friendly attitude to match. The place was consistently busy but not loud. Close to a fitness center and hospital complex (location, location, location) there was a stream of customers coming in for healthy and delicious fare. The staff were curious and helpful and I felt great that I left the highway and made the stop. The menu is as lean as the food but there is still a great array of salads, smoothies, avocado toasts, etc, to satisfy. The decor was like it's namesake, simple and attractive. Everything else looks very tasty and I just had the jerk shrimp bowl. Excellent jerk spices, pineapple and some type of a delicious creamy sweet Sauce over shrimp and rice. Given that it was shrimp, I felt it was worth what I paid but I'll admit that I could have easily had two bowls! I'll try something a little larger next time, because I'll definitely be back! read more

Stopped here for the first time today for a lunch meeting. The woman at the counter was super friendly and helpful when I told her it was my first visit. I asked if the smoothies were low carb to which she said yes. Got the butterfinger smoothie, and it was delicious. It's probably a good thing I live in the opposite direction of this place or else I'd be wanting to stop here all the time. Tried SMPL for the first time with some co-workers the other day. The person who took our order was friendly and responsive. We got our entire order to go. One of us tried the Breakfast Avocado Toast. We thought the presentation was beautiful, even after being transported back to the office in the to go container. It was rich and flavorful, seasoned well, and the bread was not soggy. Definitely something we'd order again. One of us tried the Jerk Shrimp Bowl. Again, a beautiful presentation. The shrimp was cooked just right and was seasoned well. We thought there could be more jerk yogurt sauce on it, but we would just simply ask for more next time. No big deal, and definitely something we'd order again. One of us tried the Strawberry Smoothie. We weren't a fan of this, preferring the nearest fast food joint's smoothie instead.
