The home itself is beautifully decorated, with rich, dark woods in the comfortable dining area. Mark has created a very cozy and welcoming atmosphere for his guests. The surrounding yard is lovely as well, but we didn't have time to really enjoy that part of it. The Inn has unique rooms, and we decided to give the kitschy Egyptian room a try. It was maybe a little corny, but also fun! The double-wide bathtub was the highlight of the room for us! The breakfast - was outstanding. 3 courses, none of them too heavy, and a perfect end to our brief stay. Even dessert! We really enjoyed our stay, and the next time we come to Berthoud for an overnight? Berthoud Inn will be the first place we look! We want to try the other rooms, after all!

One major issue was the venue tasting, which unfortunately did not reflect the quality or level of organization we expected. Communication was inconsistent -- our coordinator changed during the process, but we were never formally notified or introduced to the new coordinator beforehand. The tasting itself raised several concerns: * Food and appetizers were very disappointing and did not appear to represent the venue's higher-value menu options * No food labels were provided, which made it difficult to identify dishes (ironically the only labeled item on the appetizer table was the hand sanitizer bucket) * Multiple food safety concerns were observed * Buffet service ran 15-20 minutes behind schedule * Service details were disorganized (no cloth napkins, no straws until requested, incorrect utensils provided) * Staff repeatedly opened the outdoor doors, making the dining area cold enough that guests were wearing winter jackets There were also logistical issues such as no microphone or greeting to start the tasting and no closing remarks or communication from staff. After this experience, we decided to cancel our booking well in advance of the wedding date. Unfortunately, the contract language regarding refunds proved ambiguous. Although only our deposit was due at the time, we had made additional payments early. When we canceled, the venue refunded 50% of the total amount paid to date rather than 50% of the deposit, which resulted in us losing $1,800. My recommendation to future couples is to review the cancellation terms extremely carefully and avoid making payments earlier than required until you fully understand how refunds are calculated.

This was the third Hilton I stayed at during a recent Denver business trip, and two of the three…read moreused a QR code parking system from Parking Management Company (PMC) in Nashville. Embassy Suites charges $15 per day for parking. Why this cannot simply be added to the hotel bill is beyond me. After a long day of driving, I could not get the QR code to work at check-in. A staff member suggested the hotel's concrete structure was the cause. Repeated attempts to access the system were frustrating, and the employee admitted they receive frequent complaints about it. I called the number listed under the QR code and got no answer. Frustrated, I even asked to cancel my reservation. A manager eventually stepped in and manually entered my information on a hotel computer. I also dislike having to provide personal information to a third party just to park at a hotel where I am already a paying guest. Reviewing PMC's privacy policy only increased my concerns. If Hilton continues expanding these systems, it will influence where I choose to stay in the future. Aside from the parking issue, the hotel was fine. The rooms were clean and spacious with a 1990s vibe, and the property has a bar, a small gym, and cooked food on-site.

Drive to Ft Collins is approx 30 mins and a gorgeous drive around Horsetooth Reservoir. Great location for trips to Estes or Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park as well. Wonderful history and Stephanie is a jewel. House is large, but broken down into several private rooms. Very nice bathrooms and Family Room and Kitchen is perfect---very roomy. Everything is there to make your stay feel just like Home!! Grounds are beautiful and nice decks for relaxation as well. Had baby goats there in mid May which Stephanie's kids (great youngsters in 4H) came over to feed,etc. PERFECT place for a large family or group of friends needing separate private rooms. If we were planning a wedding---this place would be top of the list for out of town visitors who would appreciate a taste of real Colorado. They do set-ups for wedding down in the valley---a couple of rock throws from back deck----would be a memorable setting. Stephanie was "above and beyond" during our stay. I was told that the price they gave me for the stay was wrong due to their computer system issue and now the price would be double! It is unbelievable! The hotel refused to take accountability for their mistake and honor the initial price and said I would have to pay the new rate, even after I sent them the confirmation email. They screwed me over because I went with this hotel due to that rate and now the prices are up and a lot of the other hotels in the area are full! If I hadn't called, it would've just been a surprise when I flew there that now they expect me to pay double the price for a mistake that their computer made! Absolutely and utterly unacceptable. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Here's what they served; Denver omelette, sausage, bacon, waffles, cereal, assorted fruits, biscuits and gravy ( damn good ) muffins, mini scones and coffee and OJ. Improvements can definitely be made, though. Long version - The 1st negative was when we arrived (around midnight) to a pitch-black parking lot; the only light came from the covered entryway & the stars. This was extremely concerning & dangerous. Luckily, we did not trip over anything. The 2nd negative was H2O dripping from the mini freezer & a lamp not working. Turned out the outlet was malfunctioning. Because it was so late & we had food to worry about, we moved the refrigerator to a working outlet & jammed it to the maximum level. Worked fine after that & kept our food & drinks nice & cold. The 3rd negative was your pillows. They were lumpy & very uncomfortable. Sure, we could have asked for more, but since every single one was lumpy, why bother hoping anything new would be better? The breakfast buffet was average, but it was a big benefit & appreciated since it was one less item to concern ourselves about (where do we eat? how far is it?). Our main purpose for the trip was to visit RMNP. La Quinta's location was perfect for that! It was a primo spot for the other places we visited (Devil's Backbone, The Stanley Hotel, Downtown Loveland, Benson Sculpture Garden). The pool was being repaired for whatever reason, so it was closed. Had this been important to us, we would have been upset but we did not book the reservation for the pool. We booked it for its location and everything worked out wonderfully. All in all, we were satisfied with La Quinta, but hopefully on our next visit, it will be to a well-lit parking lot, a working fridge, non-lumpy billows, and a more robust breakfast buffet.
