Pros Low price in the winter, beautiful scenery, gorgeous cabins, lots of outdoor activities even in the winter like basketball, volleyball bonfires, bowling, connect four, fishing, lots of great indoor activities for kids like pool, ping-pong, Jenga, places to cook out, lots of hammocks and outdoor seating, great outdoor deck overlooking the river, accommodations for various parties sizes like teepees. If you go in the summer they have free canoes to use, paddleboard's to try, river swings to jump from, and tubes. It was easy to access, you can go straight to your room with a code, and it's has great outdoor hiking areas. They even have a hot tub. Honestly it's the views that make this place worthwhile. I had a difficult time choosing between this location, the River Road location, and The Guadalupe River location, they all seem pretty similar. But for the price and amenities, the Geronimo really is the place to go. In the winter when it's slow season it's even more amazing because we truly had the entire place to ourselves. There were no other people here that's pretty cool! There is a grocery store about eight minutes from the cabins to grab firewood or coal, meat to grill and marshmallows to roast. This is a great stay for any family friends or couples. Pro tip stay in the sweet medicine cabinet, it's furthest from the road, closest to the river, has a true stairwell to the loft, and close to the extra bathrooms.

We never even stayed there...we left because of the smell. Never heard back after I called in the morning and just now received (4 days later) an email saying "the cabin doesn't have a smell and you should read the entire description of the cabins." You'd have to read and read to find it amd I'd think not having a shower and toilet in your cabin is pretty big topic to inform your clients vice disenguuosly buying in the description. Shame on you for such a horrible experience and taking my $.

The waterside cabana was awesome and probably our favorite part of our trip. I'd give the cabins a 2.5-3 star because it wasn't the cleanest. The cabinets had some grime on them and the counters. It's sad because I feel like a little bit of TLC and keeping matching towels and bedding can go a long way. We were also missing 2 bar stools and I had to ask for them because we were a family of 7 and there were only 4 stools, they were quick to accommodate which was appreciative! The barstools were different and didn't match, not a huge deal! It is a little disappointing when the pics don't look like the real deal. Feels a little misleading. I'd give it a 3 star for maintenance and upkeep in general. Between the cabins needing some upkeep, the decks by the game hall rotting in some spots, the game hall inside needs some TLC just about everywhere. But a little bit of it would go a long way. I feel this place could easily be a 5 star place if they tried just a bit more. Looking forward to trying their other locations. I do recommend this place but I would be mindful of how much the rate is. I think we went during a higher rate period...the value for dollar comes into play here. On Friday--the day we were supposed to arrive--we received a text saying that due to flooding there was no river access and that we could stay at one of their sister locations instead. We immediately called, only to be told that every other location was fully booked. Since the entire purpose of the trip was to celebrate our children's birthday that weekend, I asked for a refund so we could book somewhere else. They refused. Instead, they offered to let us come back another weekend. Unfortunately, you can't reschedule a birthday. We were already packed, our six kids were excited, pets already with their sitter and paid for, etc. We had also purchased day passes for Saturday so we could enjoy the river. They said those would be refunded and offered us access to a sister location 45 minutes away instead. While we appreciated having some option, driving 45 minutes away is completely different from having a full day of activities right outside your cabin. It was not the experience we paid for. To make matters worse, our cabin had no electricity Friday night. It was incredibly hot, and we weren't moved to another cabin until Saturday morning. The cabins also were dirty and one of the beds smelled like pee. Even after everything that happened, they have refused to offer any compensation for the hours we spent without electricity or for the inconvenience of having to move cabins. The promised refund for the day passes didn't happen either. I had to call multiple times before it was finally processed. The customer service has been the most frustrating part of all of this. I've called at least half a dozen times over the past three weeks asking to speak with a manager. Somehow, the manager is "always unavailable," no matter what day or time I call. Every time I'm told I'm on the callback list, yet no one ever calls. The employees answering the phones repeatedly say they have no authority to resolve anything. I rarely leave negative reviews. At 39 years old, I believe this is only the second bad review I've ever written. But after this experience, I feel other families deserve to know what they may be dealing with. Things happen--floods and power outages are beyond anyone's control. What is within a business's control is how they treat their customers. Unfortunately, this company showed very little concern for making things right, and that was the most disappointing part of the entire experience.

If I had brought my children, there is no way I would have allowed the to play on kids equipment. Pillows on the lawn chairs looked 20 years old, full of dirt. The interior to the tree haus was amazing & that is the only reason it earned 3 stars. It was decorated beautifully & was unique. The pool was well maintained in Feb. I was scared to use the hot tub, fearful of insects or reptiles would bite me. However the air conditioner had a loud whine. I texted the owners and never received a response. It was 90 degrees in Feb. really disappointed about that. I do not recommend this tree haus cloud #9, unless you are blind and freezing at all times. Today at a Yelp event one of the guys said I should write one for sure after just mentioning a little of what I experienced. So this will be a warning for everyone that goes there. I went there on multiple occasions and talked with the owner and the general manager several times. And the owner is a very difficult person that can explode on you for very little things. He did so ones on me in person and he also send me a very disturbing email that was very offensive and insulting. If you read some of the reviews on Facebook and Google you will see how he is. He doesn't believe in many laws so the property has open holes and unsecured drops all over the place, this includes a mine shaft if you want to call it that way that goes I would imagine 50 to 100 feet deep into the ground and is unsecured. He invites people to take mud baths in there. Next is the GM, he also only follows the laws he likes to apply, so I personally know that he flew his drone illegally next to an airport in a manner that is quite questionable. The indention of the owner is quite nice, he takes old materials and build new things out of it, but he doesn't follow any laws and is very rude to everyone. His property is a mine field of dangerous spots that are just waiting to injure visitors that want to see the houses. I don't give one star ratings very often but after what I had to endured and the fact that I am still waiting for a payment from them, I finally had to write this review.

They did have lights and were clean. I was nervous about the bathroom situation. In other reviews, people were saying the bathrooms were a mess. This was not the case with our trip. I hope they keep this up. Having clean bathrooms is very important. I would not come back if the bathrooms were a problem. It had rained, so the river was running pretty good. The 3 hour float was only 1.5 hour(s). The tube rental was easy, $30 per person for all day. They take you back to the campsite and you can float as many times as you would like for the $30 daily rate. They also allow you to have multiple tubes for you and your ice chest at no extra charge. I highly recommend coming to Son's River Ranch.

But you can rent tubes, if you want to float the river. I happened to step into a pile of ants at the based of one of the trees. Wouldn't recommend that. These little guys also found their way into our picnic fruit, so make sure every food item you bring is secured in an iced cooler 100% of the time you aren't eating. The water is so fun, you won't want to leave. I got a little sunburnt, so if you're pale like me-make sure you constantly reapply.
