We got the nachos and they had lots of cheese on them which was really appreciated. You could add guacamole which was great. And the setting is just so beautiful. The menu is mainly traditional pub food and they have some fun cocktails as well. We got the pitcher of margaritas. We'll be back again for sure.

One of the servers was scratching her hair and then setting tables and serving guests. All staff looked (with the exception of the hostess and our server) lunkept, and a couple of them looked like they dragged themselves out of bed to catch their shift. The salad was soaked in basalmic, and the smash burger from Farm Boy tastes better than this. It's busy because there's no other place to sit down and eat at the island. Next time I go to the island, I will purchase from Farm Boy and picnic. If you're going to run a business, especially a restaurant, be ready to open, be clean everywhere, smile and greet your guests (seriously, we thought we were an imposition), and make good food.

Smorgasburg (literally translated to "open sandwich table" in Swedish) is an open-air food market…read morethat first became popular in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Miami, and Los Angeles. Glad it came to Toronto! It's one of the best (and my personal favourite) outdoor street food festivals in the city, with a diverse selection of food & drink vendors and food trucks. The selection of food and drinks at Smorgasburg is better than in most other annual summer food festivals out there. They have everything from Filipino, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Japanese, and Middle Eastern, to Indian, Mexican, Argentinian, West & East African, and everything in between. Many of the food items are fusion and show their creative spins, such as sushi tacos, jerk shrimps with plantains and edamame, croissant sandwiches with Asian ingredients, etc. I love the eclectic selection of food and drinks here. The atmosphere is also better than many other food festivals because it's right by the waterfront, so you get a nice breeze. There are lots of tables and chairs to sit and dine (some with patio-style umbrellas for shade). Who doesn't like to dine with a view (and breeze from the lake)? The area is fenced off because they have been licensed to serve alcohol within the perimeters. The portion sizes are decent - some are small or tapas-sized, which makes it perfect for trying lots of different things and sharing. Some portion sizes are bigger and enough for a meal (such as the oyster omelette). There are lots of nice, refreshing drink options too (such as fresh watermelon and pineapple smoothies, coconut water, Thai iced tea, Vietnamese lemonade, and more). Dessert options are great - lots of my favourite Asian desserts make appearance here at Smorgasburg: Filipino halo-halo, Thai mango with pandan sticky rice, Thai ta-go (sago pearls with corn and coconut) from Bear Pung. The vendors rotate twice every season (different vendors for the first half of summer, and different set for the second half). Some vendors take part in Smorgasburg for both sessions. Another reason to come back often to try different foods!

There are several things that I want to bring up with this location…read more PROs The pros are that the food provided is great, it tastes good and is healthy which is one of the main goals of going to the establishment. If you are aiming for healthy eats, then this is the place to hit up. Its in the downtown core and is accessible. They also offer a killer Portuguese Tart to wrap up a meal! CONs Unfortunately, this is where it goes off the rails a bit. Some of the cons to the location is that the price point isn't in line with other similar locations in the area. I get more salad/rice bowls from Salus just up the street for $5 cheaper. There is no differentiator between the two on this level. I think its reflected in the customer presence as well as I've rarely seen the location filled at lunch. I would say the return for a $20 rice bowl, the amount of rice and protein provided was concerning and miniscule in comparison to competitors in the area. The last con I have is that the location doesn't operate in cash which may be uncommon these days, but it can be annoying to those who do and don't have alternative ways of paying. The food is fine, but comparable and cheaper options are available nearby. I have no compelling reason to return here and that is one of the issues I face when I think about this location. Give the public something different or at a more competitive price to succeed.

Friday sauce was a good burger sauce but was lightly applied. Toppings were decent; there could be more crispy onions. Friday fries had Friday sauce, green onions & fried onions. I got a Friday Burger and the Friday Fries. The burger was pretty tasty with the tangy Friday sauce. Its bun was soft and the patty had a nice crisp to it. Only complaint would be it's a tad on the saltier side, which may mean it's way too salty for others because I tend to prefer saltier foods. For the fries, they were crinkle cut and drenched in the nice Friday sauce with some Cajun spices and green onions. It's an excellent and unique combo but again, not perfect as it was also leaned too salty. The fries were also a little bit too crunchy on the exterior so I got a bit tired chewing by the end of the meal. Overall I liked and enjoyed the food but I wouldn't consider this place great value as it's $14 for the burger that's not anything sizeable. If I get a chance, I'd probably try one of their chicken sandwiches next. Maybe they'll tone it down on the salt next time. I'm still thirsty as of time of writing.
