This place is simply awesome. I feel so lucky that I chose to stay out in Genoa City for my trip to Lake Geneva for the sole purpose of being able to find this place! This place had a super local feel, but it was very well kept and the staff was inviting and welcoming of all guests. It is situated right on a small lake so it has awesome views from the bar. I noticed that someone else wrote about it maybe not being the best place for kids, but I would say that probably depends on the time of the day. It is definitely a bar so be prepared for that. That being said, the food is great! I especially loved their wings with their signature rub/sauce. Very filling with so much chicken. We also went with a take out of the double decker pizza thanks to the recommendation made by our bartender, Jen! She said she is there almost every day and she was just the sweetest. We went back nearly every day during our stay just to see her and have some more drinks. I wish there was somewhere else in Powers Lake. This place is lucky to have a monopoly out here. The food is decent, but the service is awful. Came there previously, docked my boat, and waited for 20+ minutes for a server to tell us we were waiting in the wrong area. Then we had to get in the back of the line behind people who just showed up. This weekend, I was excited to take my guests from Ireland for some fish and chips. I called four times before driving our boat over to ask about to go service, but no one picked up. After driving across the lake, we were informed there was a 45 minute wait for a table inside, they were not serving food outside, only drinks, and they were not serving food to-go. It was one of the most disrespectful experiences I've had as a customer, and I was super embarrassed as a host. read more

Yes. Yes yes. You MUST try this Powers Lake Gem of a spot. Their own seasonal Turkey Egg Rolls are back and shame on you if you have not tried them. Their entire bar drink menu is the best. Alert! When paying with cash the bar gave us only paper money - shorting us 0.41cents . When we asked why, our server said they don't do coins. But then said we could get quarters... She was very confused. If the owners don't want to give coins as change, then they should round down the bill in the customer's favor, not round up in the bars favor!!! While the bagel wake me up sandwich was amazing I will not lie it was rather tiny. They should offer 2. We had ordered scrambled and got over easy not a big deal it was still delicious. The hash browns accompanying the sandwich were more like fried hash brown strings. Could have chipped a tooth! The skillet was good and bad. Ham and bacon and over easy egg amazing. Hash browns and almost frozen cado slices not so amazing. Throw in the toss was limp bread so was not toasted at all and butter slapped on. My husband and I enjoyed a Friday Night Fish fry here. I had pan seared cod with baked potato, marble rye bread, and coleslaw. Everything was great and fresh. I appreciated the sour cream with cucumber and lemon, like a tsasiki sauce and that the coleslaw was lighter with a vinegar mayonnaise base. Heard a lot about this place over the years so thought we'd give it a go on a Friday. Sat at the bar (lots of friendly people both local and probably from IL). Friendly staff got us set up with well made cocktails quickly and into the menu. Fish Fry did not disappoint at all and one of the better ones in the area. Have a house on the lake and have been going here for years. Went on 6/1 for drinks and the bartender working with black super outgrown roots. Was extremely rude, thought we were underaged with fake ID (25) said "I need to see some ID's now". Didn't greet us and didn't say anything when we left. Proceeded to slam our check on the bar and walk away. Also made us move seats at the bar so two guys could sit down. Bar was 1/2 full. Went 6/2 for breakfast and everything was burnt. This was a fun neighborhood/lakeside bar. Drinks were interesting concoctions even though I just had a vodka soda and the cheese curds were crispy n delicious. I enjoyed the house salad w/ blue cheese (lots of flavor & chunks of cheese) and the shrimp cocktail were true to their bragging right size. The bartender was gracious enough to answer with sarcasm all of my menu questions regardless of the fact that I wasn't going to order any of what I was asking about. Although this was your typical "bar food" menu I enjoyed the not so typical bartender banter. we've enjoyed going to the Rock Bar 2 for the past two years. the owners have done an amazing job cleaning the place up and bringing a tremendous asset to the area, however last night we went there anticipating the usual excellent service and food. my wife ordered a Rueben Sandwich, which in the past has Beene emplarary. last night it came out with chucks of meat plopped in the middle of a bed of sauerkraut. in the very recent past the meat was sliced nicely. when we be out it to the attention of staff they were quick to say "we portion 4. ounces of meat per sandwich". we get it; the fact that it was chucked instead of sliced made the presentation look like an after thought. the staff did add more meat without charge. we will be back and hope this was an isolated incident read more

For a bar and grill, the menu is pretty sad. The salad, for the price was NOT worth it. The "platter" for the salad is the size of a small dinner plate, a little longer than my hand. The chicken was tasty. Shrimp cocktail was okay. The staff was polite, but she was also the bartender...she couldn't keep up. She spent more time talking with the couple at the bar than attending to the guests. There were kids and families around but the couple engaging with the staff was dropping "F-bombs" repeatedly and quite loud. If you're a bar and grill as it says on your Facebook page, you're going to get some families during the day, this was at 4 pm. It was a shame to see that behavior was tolerated by the establishment. I was excited to see something occupy this space, it's an ideal location. The views are great, but only one or two tables outside. The windows were dirty and cobwebs and bugs were overhead at our table. I hope you increase your options and work on the atmosphere. Otherwise, just be a bar... read more

This place is absolutely amazing. The food is fit for "foodies" especially the calamari, the place is beautiful and located directly on Powers Lake, the bar stools are the most comfortable I've ever placed my butt on :) The wine list is extensive and my husband loves all the various beers on tap. Wow what can I say. The food was just bad in general. Had the fish fry which was the big deal and the fried fish was over cooked. From hearing so much about this place I would tell people to stay away! The works part was the bartender with the tattoos I think her name was Jen. She was so rude to us from the moment we sat at the bar. Rolled her eyes when we asked for new drinks because we felt they had no liquor in them.
