It's one thing to call to get information but it's a whole nother thing when you have a representative give you so much service that you feel like you were on a date with somebody she's the most valuable employee I've ever talked to at USAA or any other banking institution thank you for having her.

I've been a USAA member for 50 years and before me, my father -- a military officer who served in…read moreWWII, Korea and Vietnam -- was among its first customers. It's clearly apparent, from recent experience, as well as these reviews, that the company has not only gone corporate, but has also jumped the shark. My one and only homeowner's claim was after Hurricane Milton in 2024 and I wound up paying $30,000 out of pocket, after USAA depreciated my damaged carport, then applied the $10,000 hurricane deductible. They rushed my claim through to avoid any additional damages I might have discovered. In fact, they wanted a total damage estimate in a week, including bids from potential contractors. I got that extended to a few weeks, but later found that I had missed some of the damages to my home. Filing a new claim on those would have triggered another deductible, so why bother? To add insult to injury, I pleaded with them for years to lower the liability-only coverage on my 20-year-old truck, to which they said it just couldn't be done. Imagine my surprise when a rival insurance company got me the same policy for $200 A MONTH LESS than I was paying! My yearly premium with USAA for a 20-year-old truck was only $1,000 less, annually, than my HOMEOWNERS COVERAGE. (No tickets, no accidents, minimum coverage.) To make matters worse, you no longer can get a human on the phone in less than 30 minutes of voice mail hell. I guess the company is spending all our hard-earned money on those folksy ads that stand on their former sterling reputation. My most recent encounter, to make a long story short, involved a neighbor with a huge, dangerous tree that should have been taken down four years ago, when it shed giant limbs on my fence and property. I was told then to document the incident with Code Enforcement, USAA and on paper, so if the tree created future havoc the neighbors would be responsible for the damages. It came down and took out my entire fence and USAA now tells me, I will have to pay out-of-pocket to replace it. If I'm lucky, but probably not, they say they might be able to get the money returned via subrogation. As a senior citizen, I'm not wasting my energy on that project. I'm also not sure the competitors are all that great either, but they aren't as money-grubbing as USAA has become. Sadly, I will be departing the company ASAP.

I have seen Dale's true colors, and it's not a pretty sight. He is a very untrustworthy person who…read moredeceives people for his own personal gains. My husband and I were moving to Colorado to start our lives together. We rented an Airbnb from Dale and it was right out of a horror story. Upon check in my husband and I discovered that we did not have a working toilet. We contacted Dale to let him know so he can call a plumber. He was too cheap to call an emergency one and we had to wait over 48 hours for a working toilet. We later found out he made us wait and go to a truck stop when the plumber did finally arrive 49 hours later the plumber revealed he is a member of their company and would not be charged the full amount. Not to mention he prides how "safe" his neighborhood and property is. There is homeless everywhere. There were homeless men sleeping by our dumpsters right outside of our bedroom which he did nothing about. A homeless man harassed me as I was walking my service animal by following me and screaming profanities at me because he was high. On the day I decided to leave because my safety was at risk there was a homeless man sitting by our car for hours muttering under his breathe and exposed himself to pee ON my car. Dale again was notified and failed to correct the problem. Because he was spineless and won't defend his tenants my husband was threatened with a knife by this man so we packed and left. We only stayed at his airbnb for two weeks and he will not refund any money due to his inability to provide a safe comforting space for his tenants who paid 4700 dollars for one month. Nor would he check us out of the property to lie and say we were still checked in as there is proof we left with videos and everything. When we contacted airbnb about this issue they said they will try and get in touch with him for a refund. The Airbnb agent was very kind and even suggested he did give us a refund for the remaining two weeks of our months stay as it was his fault by not taking actions to protect his property. The agent said he denied her request for the refund as he is greedy for money. Not to mention I also had to witness a dead body being carried out of the park down the street about .4 miles and another homeless man passed out face down on the sidewalk in the front of his residence. Who knows what this man's real agenda is. I would not trust anybody with this lack of care for other people. Nor is he professional in any matter. That is my encounter with this man. I just thought people would like to see the real man hiding behind his fake façade... p.s his place is also invested with ants in the kitchen and bathroom.
