The man that owned the franchises in VA passed away last year. It's now called Sundae's even though some of the signage inside says the former and the shake machine has a DQ logo on it! Crazy! They tried to adapt as much of the same menu that they could without any copy infringement with the names of items. I got what would have been a Big T under Tastee's menu and the burger was a bit overcooked and the bun tasted stale, so just ok. My spouse got a fish sandwich that she enjoyed and a chocolate shake that she liked too. We also got a couple of twist cones to go that were good. Their menu is bigger than I expected. They also have chicken and shrimp and even breakfast if you're so inclined. They did a somewhat steady business of drive thru and some takeout. We ate in and available seating was spaced out so it seemed okay. The employees were pleasant too.

I asked who I know now is Jen ( the franchise owners daughter) if there was a bathroom and Jen glanced over my way and said very rudely " PAYING CUSTOMERS ONLY !"I said in a very nice way I asked Jen if she saw the man currently in the drive through at the window?" I told her " that's my boyfriend at the drive through window so I am a paying customer" The only thing I can think of is that when I said that she became embarrassed . So I asked her again for the key thinking now since I'm a paying customer and all problem solved . She said " No you are not getting the key " she was embarrassed in front of her co workers when I called her out on the fact I was a paying customer. She was screaming at the top of her lungs when I asked her why she hated her job so bad . I went back to my boyfriend's car who was still at the drive through window and asked him if he had paid and he said yes . I told him to get the money back and let's go , I was not eating anything there because she was the one wrapping the food. She was full of so much anger that I wasn't sure what she might do to our food. We told the gal who was unfortunately stuck in the middle that we wanted a refund . The poor cashier looked scared to death . Then bum, bum, bum here she comes Jen to the driveway window screaming that she would not refund our money " We gave them the food back and left . No need to place a formal complaint given it was the owners daughter . However I can leave this review in many places.

The place was clean and welcoming. We ordered the Holler and the Green's folly sandwiches with a side of Hash brown casserole. Oh my goodness, both were two of the best sandwiches we've ever had, and that hash brown casserole was fabulous, we were lucky that was still available since it is a breakfast only side.
