    Pork tenderloin sandwich with fries

Service was great and fast. You order at counter and food is brought to you. On the corner, in downtown Normal, IL, it was clean and comfortable, industrial decor with brick walls and tin ceiling. Chicken and traditional gyros were delicious, the pork tenderloin was good.

I won't be back to this restaurant. The staff back in the kitchen doesn't use gloves. I saw them grabbing pickles out of the bin with bare hands. Stroking hair with bare hands then picking up food and preparing plates. The environment is family friendly but I'm gonna need more precautions with food handling as cross contamination can occur They also don't wear hair nets. We ordered the cheeseburger and fries. It looked good. I did see one girl with gloves but she didn't change them and touched multiple things. I didn't see a single person wash their hands either and they were walking in and out of the kitchen. Two stars for friendly service.

Nestled in the heart of Uptown Normal at 203 West North Street, The Rock Restaurant delivers a vibrant mix of Mediterranean flair and American comfort with a side of hometown charm. The exposed brick walls and bustling energy create a cozy, eclectic vibe perfect for casual dining, while brothers Said and Charbel Salida's hands-on presence adds a warm, family-run touch to the experience. The Feast * Super Gyro with Jalapeño & Fries: A standout star, featuring tender lamb-beef blend shaved fresh from the rotisserie, wrapped in pillowy pita with crisp veggies and a kick of jalapeño. Paired with golden, perfectly salted fries, it's a crave-worthy classic. * Buffalo Chicken Sandwich: A hearty crunch of breaded chicken drenched in tangy buffalo sauce, balanced by cool ranch and fresh lettuce. Messy in the best way. * Corn Nuggets & Mac and Cheese Bites: The corn nuggets-sweet, crispy, and addictive-contrast with the gooey, fried macaroni pockets. Ideal for sharing (or not). * Desserts: The tiramisu surprised with its bold coffee punch and creamy layers, while the baklava offered flaky, honey-drenched layers-though the portion felt modest for the price. * The Verdict The Rock masters comfort. food with Mediterranean soul, though some dishes shine brighter than others. Service is speedy and friendly, and the Salida brothers' pride in their craft is palpable. Don't miss the gyro combo or the people-watching from their Uptown patio. A solid choice for a satisfying, no-fuss meal with just enough flair to keep you coming back.

Good food. Decent price. No issues with employees. Tiramisu has good coffee flavor and moist.

I really enjoy this place. We come here a lot when we're in Bloomington visiting our daughter. Absolutely love the Gyro and Fries and my wife loves the Rock Salad. Service is always great and the location is very convenient.

It's basically a concession stand. Bland, boring, not that great. Two stars because the actual restaurant is clean and bright.

Great Mediterranean food for a cheap price. It's hard to find good falafel in the Mid-West, but they do a pretty good job.

Ordering a custom bowl here was the perfect solution today. I ordered a base of super greens and brown lentils, topped with grilled chicken and steak shawarma, purple cabbage, cool cucumber, and sumac onions, finished with the garlic sauce. The flavor profile was so rich, fresh, and savory without needing any spicy or nightshade-heavy sauces. The meats were cooked perfectly and the portion sizes are incredibly generous. If you are eating clean, managing blood sugar, or just want a high-quality, flavorful meal, this is the spot in Bloomington. Oh, and bonus, it's locally owned and not a chain. Tanja brought us some pita bread and carrot salad to start. That was complementary. We had a couple of cocktails from the bar, which were very good. One of the reasons I love Mediterranean food is its use of spices and infused flavors. A complimentary carrot salad mixed with yogurt was served with warm pita bread. This was not good, frankly, and was the start of what would end up being an underwhelming experience. I ordered the mixed sampler platter for an appetizer. The only thing worth eating was the falafel and the cigar borek (fried breaded cheese). My entrée was the chicken shish kabobs that were accompanied by rice, a small chargrilled tomato, a chargrilled pepper and an onion salad. The chicken lack any kind of seasoning. Even salt would've help. This was probably the most bland Mediterranean food I've ever experienced. The presentation was grade A but the lack of flavor resulted in a Grade C. Even the baklava was bland. For $60 (including tip) I could've had a much more fulfilling meal.
