I went to inquire about availability, rates, scheduling and the so called professional tattoo artists were too busy to take a minute to answer my questions. I found them to be arrogant and not very likable. They said go somewhere else because we don't need business. I'm a reputable and respected businessman in the community and I will pass the word out to everyone I can and tell them to not to do business with this place. I was a aghast at the attitude's that they displayed. The B word comes to mind. The thing that really bums me out is that several of their clients, some of them my friends, had recommended the place to me. read more

I recently had a tattoo done here with Isabel Riley. She was an apprentice, but had a long portfolio of beautiful work. I was excited to bring the piece I imagined to life with her skill. She seemed equally enthusiastic. She provided me her hourly rate along with an estimate of how long the tattoo would take. The tattoo ended up being slightly larger than originally discussed, which added time to the session. The fine line design that she created and put in temporary ink was not at all what she ended up putting on my arm. It was messy, overused shaders, and was blurry and inaccurate in multiple places. As things were taking longer, she began to rush through the tattoo. About halfway through, my friend who was watching the tattoo session asked how much it would cost for him to get one from her. She told him her hourly rate, which was now $80 more per hour than she had discussed with me, and that her new boss made her raise her rates as of yesterday. I then looked at her and asked if my tattoo would be honored at the agreed upon rate, and she didn't really confirm or deny and just laughed. I had a half finished tattoo on my arm, so I was forced to sit for the rest of the session, or seek another artist to finish the design. I can safely say this would have been a better choice than continue to let Isabel put any more ink on me. When she was continuing to rush the second half of the tattoo, but it was maybe 85% complete, I asked if we could resume in a second session, which she said absolutely could be done, and agreed that it was getting late. She then tried to charge me $210 more than the agreed upon rate. I got my card out and said that I would pay the higher rate, but that as a client I felt manipulated and lied to. I would not have gotten the tattoo at that price. She then said she'd give me the original rate, rushing through without letting me tip her (which I always do). She promised a follow-up appointment after it healed, and apologized for the miscommunication re: price. We were in contact over multiple messages to schedule it, but when it came down to selecting a date, she ghosted, and then replied weeks later saying she wouldn't be offering the second session, due to the "situation that happened last time." I do not recommend Isabel, and frankly after this highly disorganized, unprofessional experience, I do not recommend The Roost. read more

I drew a design myself and the artist agreed to do it. Two weeks later the day before my appointment, he cancelled and said he was uncomfortable doing art that I didn't feel like explaining the personal reason for my art that I drew. If he was uncomfortable why would he take my money in the first place. I then reached out and expressed how I felt and why I wanted the tattoo. They responded with "yeah, no you're not getting your money back, but we can reschedule you for a different design!" I then tried and they said no. They said no to rescheduling me at all. If ur looking for pissy customer service and people more interested in your money but not passionate about tattoos look no further the roost advertised on google as selling tattoo supplies so I called to ask and was put on hold for 15 minutes no apology for that and when I asked all I got was ya we don't do that and I couldn't even say sorry or ask how much to finish a small tatto that's half done because I got hung up on never talked to a business this rude over the phone I recommend going to Seattle where there a true artists passionate about what they do read more

I love this place. I am from Hawaii and was in school at Central Washington Univeristy, I had been wanting to get a tribal tattoo that my friends from high school and I designed but I know how tricky it can be to find someone on the mainland that can do tribal/Polynesian line work. I happened to go into The Roost because all of my roommates had been going there for some time. Clay did my first tribal/Polynesian tattoo here on the mainland and it was everything I wanted and more. The guys there all do an amazing job, it's very clean in there, ans reasonably priced. I am currently driving from 400 miles away now to complete another Polynesian/tribal tattoo that I wanted Clay to do. My sister in law got an amazing tattoo from Jared there too. read more
