Parenthetically, if this business wants to attract more male clientele they might start by having a different greeter at the front desk. Being introduced to the location by a morbidly obese, frightening "woman", I think, with a prominent spike in her face, is not the best way to attract more customers. Get real and get a genuine hotty as your greeter. read more

The best place to get a men's haircut in Lexington. Everyone is chill and welcoming and all of the barbers are skilled and work to make sure you feel good and look your best when you leave. I went to Beck who was amazing. She knew exactly the style and look I was going for. Haircuts come with a shampoo and free beverage too, in case you need even more of a reason to book an appointment. They are soon to be opening a new location, which promises more space and more parking. Definitely check them out! read more

My daughter is close friends with girl who works @ Cha Cha's. She's been telling me that I need to try Roosters, the barber shop connected to it. This is as close to a high end barber shop as I've ever visited. So if your use to going to Great Clips & accustomed to those prices, you're not going to be happy when you check out. This is the first big time pampering I've done for myself. They have ice Cold PBR while you wait. The owner makes his own beard oil at Christmas time called Santa's Hooch & it smells wonderful. Leather, Tobacco & Bourbon mixture. (I bought last bottle for thhe season) I've been letting my beard grow out & it needed big time grooming. Austin was my barber & did a great job. Went there twice as i appreciated their COVID security measures. Both times I told them clearly what sort of haircut I wanted, both times they just sort of did what they wanted to. This second time the barber was just fricking brutal with my head like he had somewhere else to be. Ended up nicking me with the razor he was in such a hurry. If I wanted to pay that much to be manhandled, I could get that elsewhere and they'd at least listen. As it is, I don't see the reason to pay above average prices for an average haircut. read more

When it was time for me to finally chop off my long hair and get something newer, cleaner, and more professional I was anxious on what place I should find. I hadn't had a regular barber in years having gone to places like great clips or the Paul Mitchell school and while I had okay haircuts from those establishments the inconsistency of their performance turned me away. My girlfriend at the time had an eye for Instagram and came across the Roosters Nest. We scheduled in advance an appointment with Bryan Poole, a master barber whom had no idea he was about to lip off over two feet and several years of hair. We just showed a picture of a celebrity with a stylized undercut and Bryan just went with it, cool breeze as he always is. Bryan being super knowledgeable taught me how to style my new hair, what product to look for, what type of hair dryer to buy, what type of brush to use for styling. I went off to go purchase a new hair dryer, and being a manager in retail I decided to road test my new haircut in my own store. As I walked around my store where I have been for almost twenty years I was surprised that very few people recognized me outright. When I checked out the cashier paused, looked me in the eye and then exclaimed, "Oh my God!" Other cashiers paused to see what the commotion was all about and stopped what they were doing to see me with their jaws dropping. When my boss saw me she replied "That it was like looking at a completely different person." In fact for the next few weeks, whenever we had meetings she regularly remarked how she could not get over how different I looked. This began my relationship with Bryan whom has been my barber now for over three years. He has always a warm calm demeanor ready to talk over the newest movie or video game, sometimes the slice of life story about how things are going and what he's working on in his back yard. But don't let that cool breeze fool you. Underneath that laid back demeanor, is a man whom is well versed and studied in his craft, an extremely capable barber who will never settle less for perfection. If you ever leave a barber shop thinking, "well, this haircut will look better in a couple days I just need to grow into it," then you're really missing out on the type of experience that only a master like Bryan Poole of the Rooster's Nest can offer you. I shave my head and trim my own beard so I really haven't needed a barber in about 20 years, but time and necessity required a last minute beard shaping right before a wedding. Not only did these guys get me in despite how busy the place obviously was, they worked some serious style magic. The layout of the barbershop is as if a 1950s barbershop had a man cave explode in it. The only thing missing was the ability to drink whiskey and smoke cigars. The decor was old-school affectation and comfortable and all the barbers are professionals. I highly recommend this place to anybody who needs a shave, a trim or even a haircut. read more

First-time customer this morning, and my appointment with Austin was Awesome! Austin took the time to listen to where I was at (celebrating my "YEARD" of growing), to what I wanted to end up with (humoring me by looking at some pics I brought), and he executed flawlessly! In fact, Austin came up with what worked best for me, a result that was even better than I'd described, shown him in pics, and even hoped for! I was impressed, too, with Austin's knowledge of the many hair and beard products offered. I listened to his description of (and smelled several scents of) the beard balms and beard oils, selecting a couple new products to try. Without hesitation or mental reservation, I am happy to recommend Austin and The Rooster's Nest Barber Shop and Shave Parlour to my family and friends (bearded or clean-shaven), and I will definitely return! I didn't think I could look this good. These mates are top-notch. They take care to make sure you get what you're looking for, absolutely. New potential customer here. I called and made an appointment for a haircut & a straight razor shave. The place was very snazzy but VERY busy. I felt like they were rushing me out the entire time. When I arrived, they were not clear as to where I was supposed to stand and wait (new customer here) I had to literally go and find my stylist (Allison) I didn't get the haircut I wanted, they never shaved my face and no shampoo. I was asked for my preferences on dates to come in, none will work. The only appointment available works for them was canceled. Now I have to look for another barber in town. I started going here a couple years ago and really like it. My stylist Haylee is great. She listens to what I want, and makes suggestions that are always perfect. She does a good job on cut and brunette colors, which can be difficult to find. The staff are all friendly, no attitude like some places have. I highly recommend this place. read more

When you enter, you're first in Cha Cha's (the ladies side) and then they will walk you over into the barbershop. The atmosphere is great with the old school barber chairs and lots of vintage pictures and memorabilia. Tyler cut my hair today and did such a great job. I showed him a picture of an old haircut I had and he went to work right away on recreating that cut and even making it better. Went there today for the first time for a haircut, and was blown away by the experience. The vibe there is really cool: vintage decor, rockabilly music, and really nice dudes. You can tell they love cutting hair, and they seem to put a lot of care into each customer they have. Nate did a great job with my hair, just what I was looking for. He gave me the exact cut I was after, and he really took his time with me (It didn't feel rushed or hurried like with other barber shops I've been to). Can't recommend this place enough... Prices are higher than your average super cut haircut, but you get what you pay for here, and that's a careful, detailed haircut, and a pleasant experience to boot.
