Nice workers and they were very caring towards my elderly FIL. The wait was not terrible either.

Billy, Bill, and Jeff have been there for as long as I've been going. All great guys and good haircuts.

I requested a simple high fade, leave the length on top. What i got was a patchy nightmare, with an uneven neck line. The hair above my left ear was twice as long as the hair above my right. One side of the back of my head looked as if it was cut with scissors, the other with clippers that need to be replaced. I immediately went to my wife's stylist for damage control, who, when I took my hat off, said "oh no. Who did this?". It'll be a month or so before I can grow my hair back to the point that I can have a good haircut. If i have no other choice but to go back to this shop, I'll just shave my head. read more

I had been several times before and got a good haircut from each of the barbers. All did a nice job. This last time I signed in with only one person in front of me. And the three barbers all must have just started cutting hair. So the first one finishes his son and grabs his dad, who had not been still on the list. Understandable though. The second guy grabs the guy in front of me. The third guy, on the right as you walk in, nearest the door, grabbed another guy in a UK shirt (VIP, long time customer, great tipper???) in front of me so would have to had to wait a whole round again. I could tell he was a little embarrassed, he kept his back to us while cutting his hair. I had been there enough that I noticed he usually looked straight a head so he could see people coming into the shop. He also asked the guy, "did you sign in?" and he said no and they both laughed. The barber said "I will slip you in." I have been a social worker for 30 years, housing homeless veterans, providing counseling to people in nursing homes, working with foster kids with special needs. I have never asked for or expected someone to do something for me because of this. If he was given special treatment as a coach at UK (assuming) then that is pretty bad. read more

I've already given a review of the barber shop before, but wanted to direct one to one of the Barbers there: Alex. The barbershop seemed a bit old fashioned previously when I hadn't seen Alex there in my previous review, but ever since my first cut from him, I appreciate the time and care he puts into each cut. He takes longer than the others, but I know it's because he's giving an exceptional cut to each individual in the chair. I had about 5 months of COVID-quarantine hair to chop off, and am in school so couldn't give as big a tip as I'd like, so I at least wanted to acknowledge his exceptional work in another way until I'm out of school and can afford to give him a tip I believe he deserves. Stopped in just to get my hard part redone and ended up becoming a customer lol! The gentleman who fixed my hard part was amazing! Extremely professional and extremely knowledgeable! He done amazing work and seriously only wanted to charge me $2 dollars! I gave him $15 and was extremely happy to do so. I will be coming back to get an entire cut very very soon! read more

walked in for a cut after work, didn't know they didn't take cards, didn't have cash on me, he cut my hair anyways and let me pay afterwards. Listens to what you want and gives a damn good haircut. 10/10. Don't forget to leave a tip, they deserve it. read more

Depends on what you're looking for, as this is an old time Barber shop. My poor Dan never got to go to a Barber Shop (ever!) and I wanted to change that when we moved to Lexington. The guys are nice and always have the New York Times on hand for me to read while Dan is getting his hair trimmed. He hasn't had any troubles so far but he has a pretty simple style. The first time we came in Bill told us that he cut the Prince of Dubai's hair once. He was in town looking at horses and when Bill went to get his razor out two body guards told him politely no, as you can imagine. Still pretty cool though. He surprised Dan with the neck shave and he LOVES it now. It's 14 dollars (cash or check only), the decor is no frills true vintage and next to the Kentucky Chocolates store, so I'm always happy taking him there. They are also open until 6 pm weeknights for you men that get off of work at 5. Check them out. read more

I love this barber shop! They do as you tell them and you get it. All of the barbers are very nice and you feel fresh when you leave. That's what a haircut should be like. Nothing fancy. Not a 2 hour cut trying to style and get it perfect. just a quick trim then your done! Love it. read more

Definitely and ole timey barber. Which is why I can say I love it. Not much on decor or stylist for your man-bun but what they've got is customer service and good barbers. I've had all 3 and have not had a bad haircut once. I feel better going in here and knowing I'll get a good cut rather than a stylist or whomever and chance a bad cut. read more

Where to begin with this... Walking into this slightly difficult to find barber shop (it's behind Sals, down what is best described as an alley) is like stepping back in time. Little has changed since it first opened in the mid to late 70's. The artwork on the wall is the same, the cash register is likely the same, I'm pretty sure the fish tank is original; but more than anything the people are original, customers and employees. I was the only person in the building without grey hair, and I was also the only person who wasn't on a first name basis with the barbers. It's really a chance to experience a bit of nostalgia, and step into someone else's world. The haircut was bad. There, I said it. Not worth the $14 they charge, not even worth $7. I should be more upset, but I'm not. This was an experience, more so than a haircut. The conversations and company is the reason one would go here. It's cool, but not my cup of tea. One other thing, it's cash or check only. I went in with only a credit card, they told me to just pay them next time I come in. I went to the ATM and paid them right away, but that's the kind of experience I'm talking about... read more

I've been cutting my husband's hair and 4yr old's hair for years, but they needed to try a barber. Great cuts! They have longer hair so most of cut is done with scissors not clippers. I was impressed with the cut, thinning and feathering so it didn't look choppy. The barber was great with my 4yr old who was timid and reluctant for a haircut. Will go back! read more

I first walked in and noticed that the place was kind of old fashioned with no real marketing flare, but what guy really cares about that as long as the barbering is up to par. Bill cut my hair. Very skilled and been doing it for 40+ years. $14 is extremely affordable for any haircut beyond, "Short on the sides and a little longer on the top." Great conversation and laid back atmosphere. If you didn't receive the type of hair cut you wanted I would assume it is because you either didn't give him an accurate picture or didn't accurately describe the type of cut you wanted.
