I came in here because of a friend's recommendation. He said they are very nice about everything and let you run around the block to fit into the shoes and whatnot. I went in and was not greeted right away. I looked around the store and then the girl in the front finally said hi. This wasn't like a "Hi! Welcome to the Running Shop; how can I help you?" *smile* No. This was like a very sorry hi (like "what do you want?") Anyway, I didn't like that. Then I told her my problem (the side of my knee cap hurts when I run and prepping for a marathon at the end of the year). She nods her head and said ya, it is common, called IT band syndrome so she certainly knows her stuff. She said it was a common thing with everyone that comes in. She then told me to take off my shoes and walked back and forth to see how I walk. She then gave me several shoes to try on. I walked around the store and went out and run a little. I finally picked one and she was more than happy to go directly to the counter and ring me up. I kept thinking she totally wants me out of here. She didn't tell me the price; just rang me up. The next thing I know, I rang up shoes for $120. Thanks for warning me. I figured I could go somewhere else to buy shoes but I figured the prices is going to be similar and I have to drive. Haha. So I just bought some nice pink Brooks shoes. It wasn't too bad but I am not quite sure if I want to come back here. read more

Handed the shoes to her out of the box- she had to lace and insert insoles while he stared off into space. Small shop, ok location, ok selection. The man who help me was nice enough, didn't ask too many questions, offered me a selection based on my old shoes. I know exactly what I want and what works for me, so that's fine for me. However, if you need something more like guidance, you may want to have another clerk help you out or go somewhere else entirely. To be fair, I don't know because I didn't ask questions: I didn't need to. In and out quickly, and they let me test run outside the store (which I expect from any shop but I've heard is not the norm in Tuscon). My wife and I are just getting into running again and decided that we needed to get new shoes. We live almost 90 minutes away from this store, but we thought we really needed to get some good shoes, as we're hoping to start doing fairly high miles. When we first walked in, we saw an entire row of people who were being helped by the sales staff. Once it was our turn, they evaluated our gaits and took the time to find the perfect shoe. Even though I thought I knew what I was looking for, the guy helping me gave me a few other options, and I ended up going with one of them - and spending less than I expected, to boot! Great customer service and they know what they're talking about. I came in right before they were about to close. I wasn't hurried out but instead given enough time until we found the perfect shoe for me. The sales rep evaluated my foot and helped me pick out the right type of shoes for my feet. I must admit I am PICKY about running shops... This shop is wonderful because the people working there are total experts on matching feet with the right kind of shoes. The customer service people are super chill. They can answer any question related with running/ how shoes fit/what to expect, etc. I would bring in my old pair of running shoes and have someone explore on the bottom of the shoes and know exactly what kind of shoes I am looking for. The people working there are pretty cool about letting customers try on the shoes and go outside for a test run. I always felt confident with my purchases with the shoes. This store has AMAZING running bras- I wouldn't go anywhere else other than this shop to get sturdy good bras. I dig their running hats too. This store loses one point because sometimes their running clothes (shirt and/or shorts/pants) are kinda tacky. Good location too. read more

I haven't been to too many running shops before, but this place was cool. Everyone who works here is a runner of some type, from track to CC to Marathon. (i went here in this last summer).. I was looking for a shoe to run my half marathon in, i got great advice from the local marathon runner. He gave my training tips as well as shoe advice. They even let me jog around the block with the shoes i tried one (never had anyone let me do that before). They were very helpful to me...unfortunately for me i had microfracture surgery on my knee so i have to postpone running till im all healed. I liked this place much...but this is one of the first running stores i been to, but i hear its highly recommended by some runners. read more

In my interactions with the store today shows why it was a BAD thing to legalize marijuana in the state of AZ...and please do not use marijuana while at work...I called to order a pair of running shoes; I stated the brand, the model and the size...the clerk on the other end repeated "what brand again?" I stated again, the brand, the name and the size. She repeated the brand correctly, but not the name, so again, I repeated. Her response was "we do not have that in a size 10 and a half"...that was NOT even my size...so, I repeated my size again, she looked, and could not find it and then said "we are going to have to order"...being afraid she will order the wrong shoe, I told her to forget it. I ended up ordering the running shoes online at a very reduced price (yay me)...this place used to be my "go to shop" for running shoes. Over the past year, the service has gone down so bad that now I have to resort to ordering online...I understand we are in a pandemic, but this interaction and service was downright pathetic even for "pandemic standards"...anyway, I ordered two pairs of running shoes online for nearly the same price I would pay at this store, so, I probably will not be back for a year...it is really sad--I want so hard to shop locally, but when I get service like this, it makes it tough... read more

Bought a pair of Hoka One One Biondi 5s in September ($130). The soles started to come unglued the first week in December. Took them back to the store to see what recourse I'd have. The manager was basically lifeless! And did not want to respond to my request for help/credit/refund. He just stood there speechless. However the sales associate pulled up the Hoka website and told me about the one year guarantee and how to get a refund. Paid way too much for the Running Shop not to support the products they sell. I'm now returning the sneakers to Hoka One One at my expense and waiting to see how much credit they'll give me to shop only on their website. Disappointed at best with the service and don't recommend shopping there. read more

I am so happy to have found this store. This is the go-to-place for athletic shoes and GREAT customer service in Temecula. I am so incredibly happy and appreciative with my experience with store employee Valerie. She was amazingly friendly, knowledgeable and very understanding, I spoke with with her over the phone and she took the time to listen to my every word. My first time in I purchased a pair of running shoes. I was very pleased with my service with a young man that helped me, but a unintentional and easy mistake happened at the time of purchase. I didn't even notice myself self until later. So that's when I decided to call the store. I called thinking I was going to be told they could not help me because my 30 days had past. This is when I spoke to "Valerie" OMG she was GREAT! She told me she would have to talk to the manager, well she did and called me the very next day. She told me I would be taken care of. I feel I received great quality customer service I would have not received any where else. I know this store may have taken a loss over my returned shoes, but they cared more about me than a monetary loss. They really care about their customers and giving quality service. I'm a walker, not a runner....and I love The Running Shop! A few months ago I went in looking for new shoes and was guided to ASICS Gels. What great shoes! Recently a problem with one shoe showed up and I thought it might be my fault. Stopped in anyway and was immediately told "that" wasn't right and not my fault. Tried on several more types and decided to stick with the ASICS in a half-size larger....an even swap. My feet are happy and so am I! On Thursday 2/20/14 around noon I made a point to drive across town to this locally owned business I found online to buy a new pair of running shoes. From the moment I walked into the not-busy-at-all store, the very tall thin man who was my associate was rude and seemed physically annoyed that I had brought my small dog in with me. My dog is well behaved and my running partner, so being that The Running Shop does not serve food, I didn't see anything wrong with letting her sit next to me as I tried on shoes, rather than leave her in the hot car. Even as I tried to be friendly to the man he seemed preoccupied by staring off in the distance. I felt rushed and unappreciated as a customer even though I still spent $150 cash in their store. As I mentioned my experience to another runner friend, he expressed to me that he had a bad experience with attitudes in this store as well and would have recommended I go elsewhere. I am very adamant about supporting small businesses but I also think customer service and kindness take precedent. I will not be spending any more money in this otherwise well equipped little store, and its a shame. read more
