They cleared out "the party room" and gave us our own space. Also, it's BYOB and Specs is 3 doors down.. so we got a few beverages before beginning. The owner of this establishment, Lottie, is a former teacher and she really enjoys taking the time to help you pick the right colors and learn the techniques and understand the process. As a group we decided to draw names out of a hat and paint a mug for the name we drew. Good times. Each piece was under $20 and we were there for 3 hours painting. Honestly, it's one of the more inexpensive excursions a group of adults can do and being able to take something hand painted home from the day is a beautiful reminder of a moment of time. We never felt rushed to leave and any questions we had were answered immediately and in a way we could understand. I'm looking forward to seeing the final product.

I had a wonderful time painting and chatting here with my friends this past weekend. We came in during the evening time and stayed till a little past closing to finish our pieces, and Mark was absolutely amazing and so patient in helping us wrap up and clean up. I have been to other pottery painting places in the past, but this place by far has the best selection of items at a super reasonable price range. I found multiple items that I would've wanted to paint and take home. During the time there, Mark made sure that our group was well taken care of, understood the use of the brushes and tools, and shared fun stories and jokes while passing by us every once in a while. With the music in the background and the colorful walls surrounding you, this is a great space to channel your artistic talents and have a good time away from the hustle and bustle of life.

It's a…read moregreat concept but the horrible customer service makes it not worth it, and in the end they lost our pieces and didn't care. 1. From the beginning, I had a subpar experience because the employee helping us make our pieces was new (which is fine, nobody can help that) but instead of explaining how to create the work or having a more experienced employee shadow her training, she kept getting frustrated and would say "here, I'll just show you" and ended up basically making the pottery for us. She was sweet but lacked training and patience, so she didn't let us make our own pottery. She also kept bantering with her colleague while we sat there waiting to hear what to do next. 2. Then 6 weeks goes by and we didn't hear back about our piece, my husband and I kept calling and finally after a week, someone answered and said yes it's ready. 3. Now we have painted and sent them to the fire and we went to pick it up this evening. They are moving locations and everything was packed up. The employee said he can't find it and it was probably recycled. The most they can offer is 50% off a new pottery experience. Taken aback, I said hey that's really uncool, and kind of messed up. He said we should have picked it up within 2 weeks and it's been almost 60 days. It's been exactly 40 days, and we just had Xmas and New Years, AND they're only open Thursday through Sunday. Nonetheless that is my blunder, I recognize that. Still, they can call someone before throwing away their pieces. The employee said, "We used to do that, but it was bad for business." 4. The final straw was when the employee said, "I'll look through on Monday at the warehouse to see if it's there," and my husband asked, "and you'll call us?" The employee said Yeah. My husband said, "and you have our number on file?" which prompted him to check in front of us. HE DIDNT EVEN HAVE OUR NUMBER! The guy was never planning on calling us because I was upset about our pieces possibly being thrown away. So they can take six weeks to notify us our pieces are ready, but we can't take 4 weeks to pick it up? They should admit our stuff was thrown away or lost because they're moving locations, not because we took an extra 2 weeks to pick it up. Neither the email that said it was ready nor the employees at time of painting indicated that we HAD to pick it up in two weeks or else they'll recycle our pieces. Almost every employee at this location has zero customer service training (except one lady who helped us paint our pieces). I have never felt so strongly about an establishment that I wrote an extensive review. My advise is to take your $ elsewhere. Makes sense why this location isn't even on Google maps, only Apple Maps. They probably had awful reviews. I'm so disappointed in Smashed & genuinely sad at how I've been treated.

In my opinion, these kind of experience-based services should prioritize offering sublime customer service but this missed the mark for us. It doesn't make a lot of sense to take down our information just for us to have to actively follow up to get confirmation to pick up products we already paid for. I hope this was just a one off experience.

The website stated in bold letters "walk-ins always welcome". However, when I got to the store they had a sign posted on the door saying walk-ins were only allowed from 4:30 to 7:00. This was listed nowhere on the website. Quite inconvenient. As far as paint quality goes, pretty decent. They had a variety of brushes and tools for painting and they gave visuals of how each color bakes with 1, 2, and 3 coats so you have a good idea of how your piece will turn out. I was very disappointed with the finished product after glazing though. There were speckles of colors that I did not have anywhere in my piece and smudges (maybe from overcrowding the kiln? Not sure). Also, I believe they did not correctly glaze my piece as there appeared to be milky drips baked onto my piece that I assume to be extra glaze that dripped down and baked when firing. Quite disheartening as I took the entire 4:30-7:00 time to paint my piece and make it perfect only for it to be messed up during the firing process. The staff were fairly nice except for who I assume to be the owner. The day I went to paint with friends (unaware of the time rule because it wasn't on the website) we arrived at 3:30. The front of the store which featured tables, paint, and pottery pieces was completely empty. So, my friend decided just to ask if we could paint earlier since it was not too far from the walk-in hours (if not, no harm done. Just worth a shot to ask). The owner sharply responded with "No. Absolutely not." with some other explanations about camp. We were totally fine with being told no (again no harm done just worth a shot), but a nicer tone would have been appreciated. Another rude interaction was when I went to pick up my piece. My mother decided to come with me as she had been wanting to paint pottery and wanted to check out the studio. When the owner was asked about their opening hours by my mother (who is hard of sight and who did not get a chance to read the door since I opened it for her), she responded "It's on the door." (referring to the sign posted on printer paper) in a harsh, belittling tone. While I do get it can be frustrating to be asked a question when you have a sign, it does not take much effort to simply answer when asked. She also explained how the new hours were because the children were in camp and how pottery painters were not the priority (although pottery parlor is half of their name so a little misleading). Overall, not a great experience. Don't think I would revisit.

She's 11 and very talented in drawing anime already, and I was hoping the class would broaden her horizons. After one week of camp, she brought home a total of THREE pictures - the mediums were paper, canvas, watercolor, pen, and pencil. They pretty much taught them to copy pictures of characters from Naruto, Dragon Ball Z, and Demon Slayer... drawing anime characters is not the same as drawing manga. My daughter also confirmed that they didn't learn a single thing about manga art. While I loved the artwork she brought back, it was very similar to things she produces at home. I cannot wrap my head around what I paid $339 for. She went to a different camp every week in the Summer of 2022, from volleyball to coding, and even another art camp at Sugar Land Art Center & Gallery that cost half as much. Cordovan was the most expensive camp we sent her to, but the least rewarding. I would not send her again.

You simply pick the pottery you want to paint, and the price is listed on the bottom of each piece, which makes it easy to choose. We spent about two hours painting and had a lot of fun with it. After you're finished, they keep the piece for about three days so it can be fired and cured in the kiln. Overall, it was a really fun and relaxing experience.
